Disadvantages: Customer Service Line is a joke; You get what you pay for so spend it elsewhere

...Check thoroughly and even then, be inclined to disbelieve everything you're promised and have a Plan B for when you find out that "nothing in life is free." We've just returned from a trip to Las Vegas that we booked through Directline-holidays. They offered by far the cheapest option to get out there, booking with Airtours and flying direct from Glasgow with Thomas Cook Airlines. One of the big attractions for us was the promise from Airtours of "free car rental" with the offer. Admittedly this was for an economy sized car, but hey, there was only 2 of us. Only the insurance to pay for, we were told. Great ! ! For a week in an economy car then, that should be say £100? To be on the safe side, I called their Customer Services (and be further warned - I had to make a number of calls before actually getting to speak to an operator...

Airtours Could Be Better With Their Reps

...Airtours...My Personal Opinion... ------------------------------------- As most of you know I am just back from holidays in the Costa Dorada, and the company I went with was Airtours. The reason I picked them was because the holday was cheaper with them, I never change my habit of saving a few pounds. ...I've just finished flicking through the Airtours brochure. Me and My best mate are going on holiday this yeah and are checking out flights etc now. Yesterday we went into several travel offices with an array of many varied brochures for many destinations. I took about 4 and returned home with them. I have just finished reading through most of them and I do have to say that I haven’t seen so many horrible places as in the airtours brochure. I don’t think they realize that the accommodation also represents them as well as the other way around. Just opening up the first page of accommodation I found that the place hadn’t even been bothered to clean the tiling surrounding the pool, even for the photo. Airtours a special mention

Advantages: Pleasant, friendly reps and having someone you can depend on at any time.
Disadvantages: Having an accident in the first place

Airtours Cruise

Advantages: Price
Disadvantages: Get wht you pay for at times

...In July 2000, my family of five took a two cruise on board the Sunbird. The holiday operators are Airtours. We totally enjoyed the holiday which cost around £5000, then of course expenses and excursions, another £1000. The cruise was in the Med, including Africa. The boat was ageing but totally acceptable in decor and amenities. The majority of the staff were warm and friendly. It obviously wasn't the QE2 but for £6K for 5 what do you expect. I would certainly take the Airtours Cruise again, and all my family totally enjoyed the holiday. The food was good and varied, and you really can pile on the pounds. Entertaiment was very good, and there always seemed to be something going on anytime night or day. Tips were included but they do expect to be tipped as well....

Airtours - Cheap and Cheerfull

...I've been on many holidays before - most of them pre-booked, knowing what hotel you're going to be in, etc.. This time i decided to go for a complete touristy last minute deal with airtours. The destination was the Canaries for a week in a self catering room. From the start the service was good. Picking up the tickets and checking in at the airport was easy, and the ground staff very helpful. The airplane was good (It was clean and the food was decent) which is all you need on a short 4 hour flight. Getting off at the other presented no problem. There were plenty of reps there who advised us on where we would be staying, which airport transfer bus to get on, and telling us general facts about the island. Again, all through the stay, there was a rep available if you had any information or queries (which tours are the best...

Airtours

Advantages: Punctual, reliable, friendly & efficient staff
Disadvantages: Not much leg room

...Airtours is an airline which has been aorund for a while, so you'd think they'd have quite well established methods of dealing with things to ensure the best quality service for the passengers. Well, it seems they do! Aside from the fact that the seats are a little squashed, and there's a slight sensation of being a sardine in a tin, once you sit down it's quite comfortable and pleasant. The aircraft was punctual, and the cabin crew were efficient and friendly. I even won £5 worth of duty free on one of the scratch cards that they offer. I would certainly recommend airtours to anyone thinking of traveling within Europe, they're cheap and cheerful, but not so cheap that you begin to lose out too much as with some airlines. I'll definitely be flying with them again....

What does an Airtours rep do

Advantages: Were cheaper than the other tour operators going to this complex.
Disadvantages: Customer service wasn't very good

...Having done this review yesterday I was advised to spilt it into two section Airtours the Airline and Airtours the Tour Operator, therefore this review is a lot shorter than the original one. AIRTOURS RESORT REP SERVICE at Belle Vue Apt, Alcudia. Firstly I have to admit we didn’t go to the welcome meeting, we couldn’t be bothered and we had been to this complex before and knew the area quite well. There’s a but, we only ever saw maybe 2 Airtours reps the whole time we were there and that was when they were picking people up to take them back home. They didn’t walk round the pools, say hello or anything like that. I’ve never seen such a scarcity of reps. My kids didn’t even want to go to the kids clubs, not that I knew which apartment block it was based in, in one respect we should have gone...

Don't go on the Airtours excursions!

Advantages: Nice hotel, pleasant flight

...Me and my girlfriend have just returned from Gran Canaria which we booked through Airtours. The flight was through Spanair. We stayed in the Buenaventura hotel in Playa del Ingles for 2 weeks. The hotel was nice and clean, the food was nice and the rooms were cleaned everyday. The only problem with the hotel was the pool didn't seem to be very clean, but apart from that I would say even though it was a three star hotel it was nearly as good as the Bahia Princess which was a four star plus that we stayed in two years ago in Tenerife. The hotel seems to be extremely popular with german guests and all the waiters/bar staff/receptionists can speak spanish and german, they also speak english but some not aswell as they can speak german. The hotel also lets you add credit to the credit card type key for your room so you can use it in...

Airtours - flights only experience

Advantages: Very Good value for money
Disadvantages: watch out for the additional charges on board - be prepared

...I can recommend Airtours as a carrier if you want relatively cheap and reliable flights. Direct travel to European destinations from United Kingdom regional airports is a real problem as the really cheap flights seem to only be available from the major airports. I have found that I can still get reasonably priced flights to European holiday destinations from e.g Glasgow, Prestwick, Leeds-Bradford. They also offer very cheap flights from the main airports as well (although I've never flown these). Things to watch out for when travelling flight only with Airtours (bearing in mind that they will be keeping their costs down) are: - you have to pay for everything once you are on board. This includes £5 each for earphones without which you cannot hear the in-flight movie. - you have to pay extra (£5 per head) to pre-book adjacent...
