Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Sound System - Great buy

Advantages: Price, sound quality
Disadvantages: None

...Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Music System I bought this system just over a year ago and I am all praises. At PDS135.00, at the time, it was a great deal. Prices for this model or the equivalent new model are probably cheaper now. This one has a single CD player but I could have got almost the identical model with 3 CD player for about PDS50.00 more. It also has a double cassette player with continuous play, FM/MW/LW digital radio, 70 Watt speakers (although I was disappointed that these we’re made in the Czech Republic instead of Japan), Surround system, 4 preset graphic equalizer and a host of other specs. The sound quality and output are very good. Do you really want other models and brands, which give you unusable amount of watts per channel, if you’re using it at home? Would you ever use this maximum output? Well...

Review of Aiwa - Aiwa

Aiwa NSX-V70 Stereo System.

Advantages: Good tone quality, good tape recording quality
Disadvantages: Needs longer leads on speakers - needs frequent CD lens cleaning

...1995 seems like a long time ago but that's when we bought our Aiwa NSX-V70 from Comets and, although I am aware that others seem to have given this stereo system bad reviews, we have found ours to be really excellent. Maybe it's something to do with acoustics but we find the tone very rich, particularly on its equalizer settings - I purchased a couple of phono leads and connected to our nicam Sony VCR and/or DVD player. Another thing that must be said, is that we have not "hammered" the system to maybe that's why is has given such long service. Although the original price was near to £400, I have since seen the same unit going on Ebay from around £50. The prices have come right down on these units now. Facilities: The two speakers have two sets of cables, one (twin) set for standard stereo and another (quad) set...

Review of Belkin Cassette Adapter

Advantages: Allows you to listen to your mp3 player in your car
Disadvantages: Very Poor Quality Of Sound!

...I wanted to be able to listen to my iPod during car journeys and this adapter seemed the perfect job. Its slick white style compliments the iPod very well, and looks perfect. My friend had bought the very same product to use in her car, and the sound quality was very good! She bought it for £20 in an airport, so when I saw it on Amazon for just £5.00 I just had to buy it... however... The sound quality is unbearable in my car! The continual electrical buzz over the music, and the rattling of the cogs inside the cassette is dreadful. And any slight movement to my iPod produces a terrible loud crackle over the music. When i decided it was too bad to listen to, the darn thing wouldn't eject from my cassette player. Argh! I'm not too sure if it's just the mechanism of my cassette player in my car causing the problems, because this...

Great HiFi for a great price - the Aiwa LCX-150

Advantages: Great features, reliable, good speakers and remote...
Disadvantages: None

...INTRODUCTION - THE PURCHASE A few years ago now I had finally decided to make the step from cassettes to CDs. I had already bought a couple of CDs and played them in my computer, but it was now time to look for a HiFi for use in my bedroom. As with the Aiwa Walkman you may have read one of recent ops about, I had a look in Argos for a company that I trusted. I had bought Aiwa products before and I thought (and still do) that they are a very reliable company with good quality products., so when I saw this HiFi for £100 (it is cheaper now - read on for the current price), I immediately read about its features and ten minutes later it was in the boot of the car on the way home. The unit plays CDs, cassettes and the radio, as well as having several other useful features. The Aiwa LCX-150 was very easy to set up even for me, and since I...

Ace Aiwa

Advantages: Sound quality, value for money.
Disadvantages: Only single tape deck and single Cd player.

...Having previously owned a Phillips micro system which was very poor I was looking to Aiwa for a vast improvement. That is what I found when I bought one of their mid-range micro systems. The system contains a single tape deck, single CD and 3 band digital tuner. The range of features on it are wide and useful, while not being overcomplicated. The sound quality is excellent, at all levels. The powered sub-woofers on the speakers allow revenge on any annoying neighbours! The system is also very reliable. I have owned it over a year now and have experience no problems, as opposed to with my previous Phillips system which was fixed 3 times in its first year....

Aiwa XP MP3 A REALLY Good Buy

Advantages: Sturdy, cheap, feature-filled.
Disadvantages: Burns through batteries, but all these things do.

...When I went to Japan for the first time this year, one of the things I knew I definitely wanted to buy was a portable MP3 player. My car has no working stereo to speak of, and although it plays cassettes, cassettes are dead to everyone on the planet. (Unless, of course, you're the American Music Industry and you need a format that has sharply decreased sales in order to "prove" that music sharing hurts them despite the fact that they post a $1.6 billion profit.) So, I walked around in Akihabara for a while look for a store that was selling the Rio Volt or the TDK Mojo. I was ideally looking for the TDK Mojo, because my friend had just bought a Rio Volt for her car and it completely refuses to play any CDs after 2 months. It was really hard for me to find either of them, especially since my Japanese skill is nearly useless in...

Aiwa HS-TX486 - Fantastic Walkman

Advantages: Lots of great features, very durable, good price
Disadvantages: Disadvantages? Yeah right!

...a real bargain, I promise you. I found this price on Amazon, where the Walkman is unfortunately sold out. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ************************** When the Walkman first arrived I was immediately impressed by the design, and after checking the model to see if there were extra features that hadn’t been included in a rather vague catalogue description, I found that indeed there were many more features, which make this in general a very good Walkman, certainly the best I have come across. So what are these features, I hear you ask. Well, I will tell you right now. FEATURES ***************** In general the Aiwa HS-TX486 has two main features, playing cassettes and playing the radio, but as with most electronic goods there are many more features, many of which prove to be very useful. As I describe the various features I...

Great sounding cassette recorder

Advantages: Great sound quality, good set of features, three heads
Disadvantages: No remote control

...Many people seem to think that cassette tapes, and analogue audio in general, have had their day. For me though, I have so many cassettes that converting them to a digital format is impractical, and buying CD copies or paying to download them, too expensive. Unfortunately, the quality of cassette decks in most mini-hifi systems these days is very poor - the cynic in me wonders if this is a deliberate ploy to stimulate sales of CD recorders and other more "hi-tech" gadgetry. Hence, I bought this machine for the grand sum of £10 second hand. I believe it retailed for under £100 new, though I suspect it has been discontinued now. I will begin with the playback side of things. When I first started using this machine, I suddenly found myself listening to lots of old pre-recorded cassettes I had not dug out for years. OK, so they were...

MP3's through a cassette player in your car

Advantages: Cheap and it easy to use
Disadvantages: A little tempremental

...After my girl friend got the back of her car smashed in to by some stupid guy she had to change cars. Luckily she got a car for free from a friend of her family, unluckily this car is about 15 years old lol. We both have MP3 players and love to listen to music when we drive but this new car only had a cassette player so we were both a bit disappointed. On a trip to our local halfords i decided that i was sick of listening to old recordings of early 90's "music" and got her the Belkin MP3 cassette thingy in the hopes that we could finally listen to some good music. There are some very good things about this product and some not so good things as well. The good points are its a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a new CD player for the car. It also means that you can listen to 10000's of songs that you have on your MP3 player (or if...

aiwa - good for a while

Advantages: seemingly good value
Disadvantages: stops working!

...This system is the second aiwa midi hi-fi I have owned. The first one had major problems with the CD lens after about three years, and, true to form, having owned my current systen for about three years the CD part of the system is starting to malfunction. Possibly this could just be my bad luck, but for it to happen twice is downright strange. Up until now I have been pleased with it; it was good value for money and does most of thing I want it to, but unfortunately Now I feel Aiwa as a brand is tarnished in my eyes. Next time I'll try something different....
