Aiwa NSX-V70 Stereo System.
Advantages: Good tone quality, good tape recording quality
Disadvantages: Needs longer leads on speakers - needs frequent CD lens cleaning
...1995 seems like a long time ago but that's when we bought our Aiwa NSX-V70 from Comets and, although I am aware that others seem to have given this stereo system bad reviews, we have found ours to be really excellent. Maybe it's something to do with acoustics but we find the tone very rich, particularly on its equalizer settings - I purchased a couple of phono leads and connected to our nicam Sony VCR and/or DVD player. Another thing that must be said, is that we have not "hammered" the system to maybe that's why is has given such long service.
Although the original price was near to £400, I have since seen the same unit going on Ebay from around £50. The prices have come right down on these units now.
Facilities:
The two speakers have two sets of cables, one (twin) set for standard stereo and another (quad) set...

Dixon's Exmployee Opionion of the AIWA NSX-888
Advantages: EVERYTHING!- Great sound quality, very reliable, excelent build quality, evey feature you could ever want, full remote control and very good speakers
Disadvantages: Err, could always be cheaper (what couldn't?)
...I have always loked AIWA products. Whenever a new one comes in at work I am the first to get it out and give it a go. I replace my hi-fi every year to get the latest AIWA. The most recent being the NSX-555 and NSX-V900 - both excellent but models below the 888.
As soon as the 888 came in I knew I had o buy it. It costs arround £200 now as it has come down in price but I bought it at £250. WOW! The features for £250 is unbeliveable. It has two amplifiers, one for the low (bass) frequencies and one for the high (treble) frequencies so there is no sound distorition. THe speakers are excellet, with a sub-woofer fo deep respocive bass and then the mid range and tweeters for clear higher sounds. It also has build in surround sound (not Dolby) which simulates different envirometns - Disco Hall, Concert Hall or Live event and they...

Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Sound System - Great buy
Advantages: Price, sound quality
Disadvantages: None
...Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Music System
I bought this system just over a year ago and I am all praises.
At PDS135.00, at the time, it was a great deal. Prices for this model or the equivalent new model are probably cheaper now.
This one has a single CD player but I could have got almost the identical model with 3 CD player for about PDS50.00 more.
It also has a double cassette player with continuous play, FM/MW/LW digital radio, 70 Watt speakers (although I was disappointed that these we’re made in the Czech Republic instead of Japan), Surround system, 4 preset graphic equalizer and a host of other specs.
The sound quality and output are very good. Do you really want other models and brands, which give you unusable amount of watts per channel, if you’re using it at home? Would you ever use this maximum output? Well...

Review of Aiwa - Aiwa

aiwa - good for a while
Advantages: seemingly good value
Disadvantages: stops working!
...This system is the second aiwa midi hi-fi I have owned. The first one had major problems with the CD lens after about three years, and, true to form, having owned my current systen for about three years the CD part of the system is starting to malfunction.
Possibly this could just be my bad luck, but for it to happen twice is downright strange. Up until now I have been pleased with it; it was good value for money and does most of thing I want it to, but unfortunately Now I feel Aiwa as a brand is tarnished in my eyes.
Next time I'll try something different....

Not particularly long lasting
Advantages: good sound
Disadvantages: inferior quality cd!!
...I purchased an AIWA NSX 530 midi hi-fi system about 18 months ago. I chose it because of the Aiwa name, the power output and sound quality, and for the gimmicks it has, so that my family could enjoy it.
What does it have?
It has a CD player, tuner, twin cassette deck, graphic equaliser and a karaoke player, having the ability to have two seperate microphones attached at the same time.
It is all in a black plastic case coming as one piece.
The speakers are in a black box with twin cables for better sound.
The sound is very good for the price of the system, which was £399 at the time.
The graphic equaliser allows you to listen to the music to your liking, having concert, live, pop, rock, etc etc.
The CD player allows for three CDs to be inserted and played either sequentially or randomly, and I thought that this...

Kickin
Advantages: it annoys the hell out of my neighbours
Disadvantages: you have to the speaker in the right position or it sounds rubbish
...I love my music. After food, water and all the necessities that you need in life there’s music. I don’t think I’d survive with out my music.
Because I can’t live without music I have to have a great system with power and great sound.
Aiwa NSX-SZ50
This system provides all the things you want in a great system, radio, 2 tape deck, 3 disc CD changer and an AUX.
The radio is easy to use and setup. It is digital so there’s no looking at a line and turning a knob until the red light comes up.
The tape decks. There are two, this allows you to do tape to tape recording. You can also record at high speed (dubbing) tape to tape. There’s also a cool button that lets you sync with the CD player so you can record without hiccups. One of the tape decks has auto reverse so you don’t have to get...

Neighbours better watch out
Advantages: Big output, good bass, inexpensive
Disadvantages: No line out
...and a program play function, both of which can be set to use just one disc or all three, or to repeat. I loaded my discs, closed the drawer and hit the play button, the most important button of all, apart from volume naturally.
While we're on the subject, volume is controlled via a rather nice large silver knob. No cheap clicky knobs here, this turns smoothly and feels high quality. Volume is displayed on the screen as a number from 0 (mute) to 50 (terrifyingly loud). You're unlikely to go far above 30, but if you do the system maintains clarity however loud you have it, with very little distortion.
I was immediately struck by the sound quality. Looks like Aiwa's lots-of-wires idea paid off after all. Sound reproduction is clear and crisp, with deep, rich bass and strong high frequencies as well. Aiwa have implemented an extra bass function...

It does the job
Advantages: it all works
Disadvantages: it has no soul
...I have had better I have had worse, the sound quality is typical Aiwa, middle of the range. The features are jam packed but a few essentials are missing like rf4 digital output and a mini disk, which in todays market is a little surprising. The looks are again Aiwa to a tee, slightly futuristic and not quite right somehow. In general if this stereo was a car it would be the Nissan Almera, It has most of the right bits, it is well put together it does the job but it lacks a little soul, a little panache and that is why it looks like and sounds like a mass market system, and I guess that is exactly what it is, so even there I can't mark this product down. I would love to either love or hate this system but I can do neither....

Budget HiFi System - Great For Occasional Use
Advantages: Excellent value for money, wide range of features
Disadvantages: Sound quality goes beyond certain volume, not robust enough for children
...I bought this HiFi system for my mother for her Christmas present last year. It cost £149.99 from Argos. It is no doubt cheaper now (as all things are) but at the time, it was the budget I had set myself.
I am favorable over Aiwa systems as, in my opinion, are one of the most reliable manufacturers out there. I have bought an Aiwa system before and have always been more than happy with what I received.
The System offered a wide range of features, all of which are more than enough for what my mother uses it for. Features include:
1) Two tape decks
2) 3-disk multiCD player
3) Headphones and mic socket
4) T-Bass feature (boosting bass frequency)
5) Colour LCD display
6) A little game to play when the machine is on standby (waste of time)
7) 10 track programing facility
8) Mood settings (four pre-set settings...

Great stereo with amazing sound quality
Advantages: Easy to use & setup, great sound quality, nice features
Disadvantages: Not got CDRW compatibility (too old)
...The Aiwa NSX-V50 is, in my opinion, one of the best stereo's ever. It is not the newest, however, it lacks nothing except a mini-disc, although one can easily be attached to the aux ports.
The cool black case of the V50 hides some great hifi hardware. With a 3 CD multi-changer, twin tape decks with electronic controls and a few 'cool' extra features, you will not be disappointed.
The stereo is exceptionally easy to set up from the box and comes complete with a very comprehensive instruction manual covering installation, set-up and continued use.
The sound quality is nothing short of superb. The large sub, backed up by 3 smaller tweeters arranged in a front surround formation provide clear, crisp sound without distortion even at the higher volumes. The T-Bass sounds good, and I would reccomend continued use, even if you...
