All You Need Is Some Popcorn & an Aspirin!!☻
Review of Aiwa XR-MN5 Micro Hi-Fi System by jedi_kickass

Advantages: Good Mids & Highs, Feather Touch Cassette Deck, 5 CD Changer, Good Aesthetics
Disadvantages: Costs £148 for a Micro, Average Bass Quality, Average Build Quality

...the bass but for a Pessimist like me, its just not good enough. If you keep the bass at lower levels you can actually enjoy the sound. Like I played an echo effect specific track at around 30% the total volume & was quite hypnotized by the effect ( the track itself is quite hypnotic though ). The depth was quite enormous & Foreground to Background Oscillation was quite remarkable. But I again stress that I did not enjoy the bass at all. So what? Sue Me Aiwa!!!! ***AESTHETIC APPEAL. [5/5]*** A Delicious Feast for the Eye. Maybe this fella has the ‘License To Kill’ [ What he needs is a license for better bass though ]. The wooden speaker box clubbed with the metallic speaker rings gives a Classical-Hifi look, kind of a Fusion looks. It surely suits a Wooden Décor or even... Read review

Not particularly long lasting
Review of Aiwa NSX-530 by willsmj

Advantages: good sound
Disadvantages: inferior quality cd!!

...I purchased an AIWA NSX 530 midi hi-fi system about 18 months ago. I chose it because of the Aiwa name, the power output and sound quality, and for the gimmicks it has, so that my family could enjoy it. What does it have? It has a CD player, tuner, twin cassette deck, graphic equaliser and a karaoke player, having the ability to have two seperate microphones attached at the same time. It is all in a black plastic case coming as one piece. The speakers are in a black box with twin cables for better sound. The sound is very good for the price of the system, which was £399 at the time. The graphic equaliser allows you to listen to the music to your liking, having concert, live, pop, rock, etc etc. The CD player allows for three CDs to be inserted and played either sequentially or randomly, and I thought that this particular feature... Oak Look Hi Fi
Review of Aiwa XR-EM200 Micro Hi-Fi System by andycharger

Advantages: Great looks, clear sound, good price
Disadvantages: Not very loud, short speaker cables

...I have just been out and purchased a small hi fi for my lounge. In days gone by, we had monsterous stacking hi fi systems but, as with all technology, things have shrunk and vastly improved in quality. The same goes for Aiwa Hi Fi equipment. Once upon a time, Aiwa was frowned on in the High Street. Known for its cheaper styles and even cheaper sound, it was one to steer clear of. However, this little beauty does a great job at a great price and looks out of this world. If you pop along to Ikea and look at most of the furniture, light wood is definitely in at the moment. Wheather it be light oaks or maples, it the surface that most cabinets come in. In fact, most of the little stereo systems in their demo rooms look very similar to the Aiwa XR-EM200 micro hi fi. This was one of the main selling points for me. The look of the product... Read review

EXCELLENT SPEAKERS FOR MIDDLE AGE AND GRANNIES
Review of Aiwa SC-C47 by sleepybaby

Advantages: solid, classic design, sounds go-o-o-od!
Disadvantages: not funky, lack of good stereo effect

...From product title you never guess what is it. so here you are it's a SPEAKERS! OR precisely it's AIWA SC-C47 Multimedia active speaker system. I don't remember when did i get it from and how much i paid. I could imagine that you can buy this system second hand or updated version and it would be a good buy. Why this system is good? 1) QUALITY SOUND - i noticed AIWA is always very good 2) CLASSIC solid design with volume control , bass and booster buttons (on and off) mine system is light grey colour (matches all of my office desk equipment - i've got different makes but this basic not-offensive colour blends everything nicely) 3) SOLID construction - no problems since i have it. even after dropped them few times - excellent-excellent purchase! What are disadvantages? 1) NOT FUNKY (design is dull just like middle age women like me... Read review

Dixon's Exmployee Opionion of the AIWA NSX-888
Review of Aiwa NSX-S888 by Chris3

Advantages: EVERYTHING!- Great sound quality, very reliable, excelent build quality, evey feature you could ever want, full remote control and very good speakers
Disadvantages: Err, could always be cheaper (what couldn't?)

...I have always loked AIWA products. Whenever a new one comes in at work I am the first to get it out and give it a go. I replace my hi-fi every year to get the latest AIWA. The most recent being the NSX-555 and NSX-V900 - both excellent but models below the 888. As soon as the 888 came in I knew I had o buy it. It costs arround £200 now as it has come down in price but I bought it at £250. WOW! The features for £250 is unbeliveable. It has two amplifiers, one for the low (bass) frequencies and one for the high (treble) frequencies so there is no sound distorition. THe speakers are excellet, with a sub-woofer fo deep respocive bass and then the mid range and tweeters for clear higher sounds. It also has build in surround sound (not Dolby) which simulates different envirometns - Disco Hall, Concert Hall or Live event... Read review

Budget HiFi System - Great For Occasional Use
Review of Aiwa NSX-S303 by darrenloud

Advantages: Excellent value for money, wide range of features
Disadvantages: Sound quality goes beyond certain volume, not robust enough for children

...I bought this HiFi system for my mother for her Christmas present last year. It cost £149.99 from Argos. It is no doubt cheaper now (as all things are) but at the time, it was the budget I had set myself. I am favorable over Aiwa systems as, in my opinion, are one of the most reliable manufacturers out there. I have bought an Aiwa system before and have always been more than happy with what I received. The System offered a wide range of features, all of which are more than enough for what my mother uses it for. Features include: 1) Two tape decks 2) 3-disk multiCD player 3) Headphones and mic socket 4) T-Bass feature (boosting bass frequency) 5) Colour LCD display 6) A little game to play when the machine is on standby (waste of time) 7) 10 track programing facility 8) Mood settings (four pre-set settings for graphic... Brilliant Stereo Brilliant Sound
Review of Aiwa XR-H560MD by cascade

Advantages: Good deep base, nice price.
Disadvantages: Annoying Demo mode which may wake you up at night!

...Aiwa XR-H560MD is really good stereo and did'nt cost me an arm or a leg either. With 260 PMPO power behind it, It fills the largest of rooms well and has a deep ambient bass. The unit has many features such as Kareoke, echo, bass boost as well as many sound effects which change the bass and treble levels depending on what type of sound you want to emulate. The unit has a double tape deck, a three way CD changer and a mini-disc player. Its easy to use interface and using the remote is like stealing candy from a baby (dont quote me on that!.) I picked up the unit and speakers for around £200 which in my book is a real bargain for the quality of soun it produces and the amount of features it contains. Good old fashion value for money.... Really good system for less
Review of Aiwa JAXN3 by ampuk2000

Advantages: Price, Style, Features
Disadvantages: None

...I have had this hi-fi, which I purchased from Argos for three months now and it never fails to dissapoint. When I was looking around for a new system to replace for other Aiwa I wanted a reliable, powerful and fairly small hi-fi and I am certainly glad I chose this. I had to choose between this model and a Sony that were both of equal price. However, the Aiwa had more features and so I chose this. The spec is fairly standard with 3 CD player, double tape deck and radio. There is a total output of 80RMS which is more tha adequate although there are others with more but this is more than enough. There is a nice and pretty graphical display that changes depending on the music being played and the radio displays the station name, which is useful if you do not happen to memorise the different frequencies. Also you are able to store... Read review

Just do it
Review of Member Advice on Building with Separates by rjs26

Advantages: Sound incredible. Can connect your PC.
Disadvantages: Look boring. NOt all remote controlled

...If your old Mini system needs replacing or you are thinking of upgrading it. Make sure that you buy a separates system and not another mini. Sure it may look ugly compared to the slick brushed aluminuim and glass covers provided on all but the cheapest minis but do you look at music? No. I faced this question when my Old Pioneer mini broke about 8months ago. I considered an Aiwa micro from Bigsave.com, with blue illumination, shinny front panels etc. What made my mind up to get a separates system instead were the speakers of the Aiwa. I looked at them in Dixons and was none to impressed. Light, flimsy and tinny. After listening to a friends old (very old) seperates system I decided to go that routh due to far(I cant emphasise just how far) better sound. I thought that it would be expensive compared to the micro. After shopping... Read review

Bargain hi-fi, top-quality sound
Review of Aiwa NSX-S778 by Kevin_Pritchard

Advantages: Good sound, and packed with features
Disadvantages: Not true surround.

...i don't know if im right here, but im sure theres not much difference between the NSX-S778 and the NSX-S777, which i have instead. Since there is no NSX-S777 product, I will review my Aiwa on this product, which im sure is very similar...ANY WAY!! enough of that!, the hi-fi...... After receiving it for christmas 3 years ago, it was tagged at £200 at Comet. Immediately what struck me was how SEXY it looks. PLENTY of lights, buttons, curves and all the rest. The speakers have a fair size sub speaker, and also have a mid-range and tweeter.....the whole system is VERY durable. As for features, it's got AM/FM radio, a 3CD changer, 2 tape decks(with auto reverse etc), and also an AUX and MiniDisc input. As for outputs, it has outputs for the supplied speakers, but also at the back is 2 sockets for 'surround speakers' which in effect throw... Read review
