Great HiFi for a great price - the Aiwa LCX-150
Review of Aiwa LCX-155 by
danwilkie
Advantages: Great features, reliable, good speakers and remote...
Disadvantages: None
...that if the system is damaged during the set amount of time (I'm almost sure it was 1 year), and it has not been tampered with, then if you have proof of purchase you can get the unit repaired for free.
Enough about the purchase, let's move on to have a look at what the system has to offer.
WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR MONEY?
In terms of hardware, the Aiwa LCX-150 package includes the system itself, allowing you to play CDs and cassettes as well as listen to the radio. Also included are two speakers, described later, a remote control, an FM radio antenna, a MW/LW radio antenna and paperwork including a manual, warranty info etc.
FEATURES
I will list the features under four main category headings, which will be marked with an asterix (*).
*Playing a CD*
Obviously this compact disc stereo system will allow you to play CDs, this can...

Dixon's Exmployee Opionion of the AIWA NSX-888
Review of Aiwa NSX-S888 by
Chris3
Advantages: EVERYTHING!- Great sound quality, very reliable, excelent build quality, evey feature you could ever want, full remote control and very good speakers
Disadvantages: Err, could always be cheaper (what couldn't?)
...I have always loked AIWA products. Whenever a new one comes in at work I am the first to get it out and give it a go. I replace my hi-fi every year to get the latest AIWA. The most recent being the NSX-555 and NSX-V900 - both excellent but models below the 888.
As soon as the 888 came in I knew I had o buy it. It costs arround £200 now as it has come down in price but I bought it at £250. WOW! The features for £250 is unbeliveable. It has two amplifiers, one for the low (bass) frequencies and one for the high (treble) frequencies so there is no sound distorition. THe speakers are excellet, with a sub-woofer fo deep respocive bass and then the mid range and tweeters for clear higher sounds. It also has build in surround sound (not Dolby) which simulates different envirometns - Disco Hall, Concert Hall or Live event...

Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Sound System - Great buy
Review of Aiwa - Aiwa by
vinodgm
Advantages: Price, sound quality
Disadvantages: None
...Aiwa NSX-V400 Mini Music System
I bought this system just over a year ago and I am all praises.
At PDS135.00, at the time, it was a great deal. Prices for this model or the equivalent new model are probably cheaper now.
This one has a single CD player but I could have got almost the identical model with 3 CD player for about PDS50.00 more.
It also has a double cassette player with continuous play, FM/MW/LW digital radio, 70 Watt speakers (although I was disappointed that these we’re made in the Czech Republic instead of Japan), Surround system, 4 preset graphic equalizer and a host of other specs.
The sound quality and output are very good. Do you really want other models and brands, which give you unusable amount of watts per channel, if you’re using it at home? Would you ever use this maximum output? Well...

Aiwa NSX-V70 Stereo System.
Review of Aiwa NSX-S70 by
derek-j-a
Advantages: Good tone quality, good tape recording quality
Disadvantages: Needs longer leads on speakers - needs frequent CD lens cleaning
...1995 seems like a long time ago but that's when we bought our Aiwa NSX-V70 from Comets and, although I am aware that others seem to have given this stereo system bad reviews, we have found ours to be really excellent. Maybe it's something to do with acoustics but we find the tone very rich, particularly on its equalizer settings - I purchased a couple of phono leads and connected to our nicam Sony VCR and/or DVD player. Another thing that must be said, is that we have not "hammered" the system to maybe that's why is has given such long service.
Although the original price was near to £400, I have since seen the same unit going on Ebay from around £50. The prices have come right down on these units now.
Facilities:
The two speakers have two sets of cables, one (twin) set for standard stereo and another (quad) set...

EXCELLENT SPEAKERS FOR MIDDLE AGE AND GRANNIES
Review of Aiwa SC-C47 by
sleepybaby
Advantages: solid, classic design, sounds go-o-o-od!
Disadvantages: not funky, lack of good stereo effect
...From product title you never guess what is it. so here you are it's a SPEAKERS!
OR precisely it's AIWA SC-C47 Multimedia active speaker system.
I don't remember when did i get it from and how much i paid.
I could imagine that you can buy this system second hand or updated version and it would be a good buy.
Why this system is good?
1) QUALITY SOUND - i noticed AIWA is always very good
2) CLASSIC solid design with volume control , bass and booster buttons (on and off) mine system is light grey colour (matches all of my office desk equipment - i've got different makes but this basic not-offensive colour blends everything nicely)
3) SOLID construction - no problems since i have it. even after dropped them few times - excellent-excellent purchase!
What are disadvantages?
1) NOT FUNKY (design is dull just like middle age...

Ace Aiwa
Review of AIWA - XR-M55 by
dan7hughes
Advantages: Sound quality, value for money.
Disadvantages: Only single tape deck and single Cd player.
...Having previously owned a Phillips micro system which was very poor I was looking to Aiwa for a vast improvement. That is what I found when I bought one of their mid-range micro systems.
The system contains a single tape deck, single CD and 3 band digital tuner.
The range of features on it are wide and useful, while not being overcomplicated. The sound quality is excellent, at all levels. The powered sub-woofers on the speakers allow revenge on any annoying neighbours!
The system is also very reliable. I have owned it over a year now and have experience no problems, as opposed to with my previous Phillips system which was fixed 3 times in its first year....

All You Need Is Some Popcorn & an Aspirin!!☻
Review of Aiwa XR-MN5 Micro Hi-Fi System by
jedi_kickass
Advantages: Good Mids & Highs, Feather Touch Cassette Deck, 5 CD Changer, Good Aesthetics
Disadvantages: Costs £148 for a Micro, Average Bass Quality, Average Build Quality
...enjoy the bass but for a Pessimist like me, its just not good enough. If you keep the bass at lower levels you can actually enjoy the sound. Like I played an echo effect specific track at around 30% the total volume & was quite hypnotized by the effect ( the track itself is quite hypnotic though ). The depth was quite enormous & Foreground to Background Oscillation was quite remarkable. But I again stress that I did not enjoy the bass at all. So what? Sue Me Aiwa!!!!
***AESTHETIC APPEAL. [5/5]***
A Delicious Feast for the Eye. Maybe this fella has the ‘License To Kill’ [ What he needs is a license for better bass though ]. The wooden speaker box clubbed with the metallic speaker rings gives a Classical-Hifi look, kind of a Fusion looks. It surely suits a Wooden...

Aiwa HS-TX486 - Fantastic Walkman
Review of Aiwa HS-TX496 by
danwilkie
Advantages: Lots of great features, very durable, good price
Disadvantages: Disadvantages? Yeah right!
...NOTE
************
For background on Walkmans in general and why you should still use them today please see my opinion on “Aiwa Walkmans in General” with the title “Walkmania – Walkmans in General”.
INTRODUCTION
**********************
A few years ago I was looking for a new Walkman as my old one, a very outdated Sony model, had broken. So where do you begin when looking for a Walkman? Well, I personally decided to look in the Argos catalogue for a bargain Walkman made by a brand I could trust. I opted for the same manufacturer as my Hi-Fi, Aiwa, and this attractive little Aiwa HS-TX486 caught my eye at a very affordable price.
PRICE
*************
I forget what the price was back then, but now after some research I can tell you that this little gem can now be bought for just £20.00, which...

Aiwa FM-80 portable mini disc recorder
Review of Aiwa AM-F65 by
farankie
Advantages: Fine editing with a rehearse option and programmable playback of tracks
Disadvantages: Can be hard to find, needs a padded carrying case
...I am amazed that reviews of Minidisc recorders concentyrate on size, colour and how neat they are rather on what they can do.I have found that there is only one brand of portable mini disc recorder that can edit to a hundredth of a second AND programme tracks for playback. That brand is Aiwa. I use my mini disc for editing interviews for my student radio programmes and the nudge edit facility on this machine means I can edit in the field, on the train or on a bus to a degree of accuracy as good as a full size mains operated domestic machine. Whilst Panasonic also offers this facility their portables don't programme. I DJ using CD's but I have a large collection of vinyl and if I need a particular record from that collection rather than take Technics record deck out I copy the track on to minidisc and take my Aiwa portable with me. Using...

Aiwa XP MP3 A REALLY Good Buy
Review of Aiwa XP-MP3 by
alkaiser
Advantages: Sturdy, cheap, feature-filled.
Disadvantages: Burns through batteries, but all these things do.
...in the real world. Eventually I found a store that had both of them, and at a price for cheaper than both of them, the Aiwa XP MP3.
The Aiwa XP MP3 portable MP3 player looked like it had all the features I wanted. Anti-skip protection, it reads the filenames off of the disc, plays both audio CDs and MP3 discs. I wasn't asking for much, just that it work, and it play all the stuff that I had, which it does perfectly, and at 12000 yen ($93.75 at the exchange rate back then, now it'd be around $88.89.) it was a steal, considering the TDK Mojo was going for $130, plus shipping and tax.
This thing has been great. I have had no problems with it so far, except for the fact that I can't figure out how to make it shuffle the MP3 tracks. I know there's a way to do it, I just haven't figured it out yet, and the manuals aren't in English/I've thrown...
