It does the job
Review of Aiwa NSX-V50 by
cabletow
Advantages: it all works
Disadvantages: it has no soul
...I have had better I have had worse, the sound quality is typical Aiwa, middle of the range. The features are jam packed but a few essentials are missing like rf4 digital output and a mini disk, which in todays market is a little surprising. The looks are again Aiwa to a tee, slightly futuristic and not quite right somehow. In general if this stereo was a car it would be the Nissan Almera, It has most of the right bits, it is well put together it does the job but it lacks a little soul, a little panache and that is why it looks like and sounds like a mass market system, and I guess that is exactly what it is, so even there I can't mark this product down. I would love to either love or hate this system but I can do neither....

fantastic
Review of Aiwa NSX-V50 by
BigPlumbs
Advantages: cost
Disadvantages: lack of minidisc
...I think this is quite possibly the easiest least fussy stereos I have ever owned. It does everything I ask to a fantastic quality, It sounds Ok and its features all work effortlessly in every mode. I like the fact that the wiring is relatively simple and it has no extra little foibles that annoy you and don't work quite right. It looks a little wierd , perhaps a little futuristic and it has a little habit of not really bringing CD's to life but it plays them more than adequately and is certainly better than some more expensive models.
This is the first Aiwa I have owned and while it does not feel as solid as technics or pioneer it certainly matches them. I only wish that a minidisk was standars as I cannot find one that matches it totally and I do feel that minidisks are now standard issue....

Great stereo with amazing sound quality
Review of Aiwa NSX-V50 by
Lancer
Advantages: Easy to use & setup, great sound quality, nice features
Disadvantages: Not got CDRW compatibility (too old)
...The Aiwa NSX-V50 is, in my opinion, one of the best stereo's ever. It is not the newest, however, it lacks nothing except a mini-disc, although one can easily be attached to the aux ports.
The cool black case of the V50 hides some great hifi hardware. With a 3 CD multi-changer, twin tape decks with electronic controls and a few 'cool' extra features, you will not be disappointed.
The stereo is exceptionally easy to set up from the box and comes complete with a very comprehensive instruction manual covering installation, set-up and continued use.
The sound quality is nothing short of superb. The large sub, backed up by 3 smaller tweeters arranged in a front surround formation provide clear, crisp sound without distortion even at the higher volumes. The T-Bass sounds good, and I would reccomend continued use, even if you...

Brilliant Stereo Brilliant Sound
Review of Aiwa XR-H560MD by
cascade
Advantages: Good deep base, nice price.
Disadvantages: Annoying Demo mode which may wake you up at night!
...Aiwa XR-H560MD is really good stereo and did'nt cost me an arm or a leg either. With 260 PMPO power behind it, It fills the largest of rooms well and has a deep ambient bass. The unit has many features such as Kareoke, echo, bass boost as well as many sound effects which change the bass and treble levels depending on what type of sound you want to emulate. The unit has a double tape deck, a three way CD changer and a mini-disc player. Its easy to use interface and using the remote is like stealing candy from a baby (dont quote me on that!.) I picked up the unit and speakers for around £200 which in my book is a real bargain for the quality of soun it produces and the amount of features it contains. Good old fashion value for money....

Miles of Music on one Aiwesome CD.
Review of Aiwa CDCR504MP by
thenumnum
Advantages: Free Fitting, Plays MP3, Easy to use, Great Sound
Disadvantages: Not a big brand, not easy to integrate drive stalk
...I have 306, about 7 years old, pretty good nick except for the fact that the Stereo broke. I figured I'd get it replaced by the dealer for a few quid, can't be that expensive. Then I discovered, that all 306s share the same fault in the stereo. Its a manufacturing fault. So immediately, off I went to Argos to get a replacement.
Why argos? Well they give Free Fitting at your home thats why.
I bought the Aiwa R504, with Mp3 capability largely because I knew I could get about 750 minutes of music onto one mp3 cd. I had no previous experience with any Aiwa gear, being a Panasonic fan for all things audio.
I was bloody amazed at just how cool the Car Stereo looked. Nowadays things can look anything between Dull or Garish. Most car stereos, including those by respectable brands such as Alpine or Kenwood, look Garish these days - lots of odd...

Review of Aiwa JAX N5 Stereo
Review of Aiwa JAXN5 by
evilalarm
Advantages: Wikid Bass! And Looks Sexy
Disadvantages: None
...I bought this stereo for £130 from Dixons about a year ago, and I'm very impressed with the features it provides.
The Aux connections at the back allow easy access to connect a portable device or your PC (using a 3.5mm to aux adaptor cable) and even DJ equipment (turntables/mixer).
The CD tray accepts 3 CDs at any one time. This provides suitable space so that your favourite CDs are readily available to listen to, without the hassle of having to changing CDs all the time. It can also read mp3 formatted CDs and CD-R/RW, so you can take all your music from your PC and listen to it on you stereo.
It contains two cassette players, one that is continuous-play and the other which is recordable with auto-reverse. This allows recording from another cassette, radio or from a portable device (Mini Disc player). It also allows you to record...

Great player, don't pay more than £120
Review of Aiwa AM-HX30 by
gk141054
Advantages: Light, small and sexy!!!!
Disadvantages: None at all
...To say that I am an expert on mini-discs and mini-disc players might be an exadgeration, but I do have a lot of experience with this music format.
I have had an Aiwa stereo now for 1 1/2 years and I love the thing to death. The thing is however that I have loads of mini discs that I have hardly ever listened too because of the amount that I have.
This coupled with the fact that I got bored of my quite new and advanced sony walkman drove me to buy a mini disc player.
Now I have been wanting one of these ever since I got mini disc on my stereo so have been weighing them up ever since. My friends have the first ones ever to be made by Sony and Sharp. You wouldn't belive the size difference!!!
The Aiwa model that I purchased in the end is excellent. It has many advanced functions, it is tiny (barely bigger than a mini disc itself) it is very...

Aiwa XP MP3 A REALLY Good Buy
Review of Aiwa XP-MP3 by
alkaiser
Advantages: Sturdy, cheap, feature-filled.
Disadvantages: Burns through batteries, but all these things do.
...When I went to Japan for the first time this year, one of the things I knew I definitely wanted to buy was a portable MP3 player. My car has no working stereo to speak of, and although it plays cassettes, cassettes are dead to everyone on the planet. (Unless, of course, you're the American Music Industry and you need a format that has sharply decreased sales in order to "prove" that music sharing hurts them despite the fact that they post a $1.6 billion profit.)
So, I walked around in Akihabara for a while look for a store that was selling the Rio Volt or the TDK Mojo. I was ideally looking for the TDK Mojo, because my friend had just bought a Rio Volt for her car and it completely refuses to play any CDs after 2 months.
It was really hard for me to find either of them, especially since my Japanese skill is nearly useless in the real...

Oak Look Hi Fi
Review of Aiwa XR-EM200 Micro Hi-Fi System by
andycharger
Advantages: Great looks, clear sound, good price
Disadvantages: Not very loud, short speaker cables
...I have just been out and purchased a small hi fi for my lounge. In days gone by, we had monsterous stacking hi fi systems but, as with all technology, things have shrunk and vastly improved in quality.
The same goes for Aiwa Hi Fi equipment.
Once upon a time, Aiwa was frowned on in the High Street. Known for its cheaper styles and even cheaper sound, it was one to steer clear of. However, this little beauty does a great job at a great price and looks out of this world.
If you pop along to Ikea and look at most of the furniture, light wood is definitely in at the moment. Wheather it be light oaks or maples, it the surface that most cabinets come in.
In fact, most of the little stereo systems in their demo rooms look very similar to the Aiwa XR-EM200 micro hi fi.
This was one of the main selling points for me. The look of the product...

EXCELLENT SPEAKERS FOR MIDDLE AGE AND GRANNIES
Review of Aiwa SC-C47 by
sleepybaby
Advantages: solid, classic design, sounds go-o-o-od!
Disadvantages: not funky, lack of good stereo effect
...From product title you never guess what is it. so here you are it's a SPEAKERS!
OR precisely it's AIWA SC-C47 Multimedia active speaker system.
I don't remember when did i get it from and how much i paid.
I could imagine that you can buy this system second hand or updated version and it would be a good buy.
Why this system is good?
1) QUALITY SOUND - i noticed AIWA is always very good
2) CLASSIC solid design with volume control , bass and booster buttons (on and off) mine system is light grey colour (matches all of my office desk equipment - i've got different makes but this basic not-offensive colour blends everything nicely)
3) SOLID construction - no problems since i have it. even after dropped them few times - excellent-excellent purchase!
What are disadvantages?
1) NOT FUNKY (design is dull just like middle age women like me...
