...When buying a CPU or Graphics card, most manufacturers have already installed or included a heatsink + thermal conducting paste or pad with the product. This thermal conducting paste is usually made of silicone, either grey or white and has the effect of filling the gaps between the heatsink and the chip, to improve heat transfer from one surface to the other. So you are wondering why companies like Akasa produce heatsink paste when something is already included. The answer is that the Akasa product (TC 5022 Pro) performs significantly better than the standard one and holds its ground against other pastes (like Arctic Silver). The paste comes in a small tube and is pretty expensive. ...I upgraded to this Heat sink Fan unit from an Akasa one and the difference in temperatures was great! With the Akasa model i was peaking on full load at 62 degrees Celsius and with the new Arctic Freezer 7 Pro i am now peaking on full load at 46 degrees Celsius. (My tower also has 3 additional cooling fans as well so i had to point it out.) The Fan being mounted on the side of the Heat sink is a great idea as heat naturally rises. Also the fins at the bottom of the heat sink direct airflow towards the motherboard components which helps keep them cool. When this initially arrived in the post i was surprised at the size and weight of it. Its huge! It was a bit fiddly to install but the fan is detachable to help. ...The Akasa Integral external storage enclosure, is a great device for individuals who wish to perhaps expand there laptop with more hard disc drive space, or perhaps for those who wish to retrieve the data from a damaged laptop, that still has a working hard drive. I found the device incredibly handy when my laptop crashed, and I had no way of accessing the data. ...I got my Akasa TIM cleaner yesterday after asking the tech guys at my company, if they had anything to clean the junk silver thermal paste I had on my 8800 GTX graphics chip. Using a few paper towels and cotton buds, I followed the instructions on the bottle: - Scrape off most of the thermal paste - Apply cleaner using cloth (apply to the paper towel first, otherwise it will flow down onto the chip or motherboard) - Leave for 1-2 minutes (this can be done in 20 seconds). - Wipe clean The Citrus smelling cleaning solution liquefied the silver paste in seconds and almost damanged my graphics card, because it went off too quickly. Then, dipping a cotton bud in the solution, I also managed to clean the microscopic areas on the chip and the copper base on the 8800 cooler. ...For those of you unfamiliar with the art of poking around inside computers, an IDE cable is the bit that connects your hard drive to the motherboard to transfer data between the two. Normally, this item is a rather dull grey flat "ribbon cable" with (usually, as far as i can remember) 3 unmarked connectors. ...Excellent motherboard. This is the first motherboard that I have installed in a computer before, and did ASUS make it easy for me! The manual is very clear, and tells you where everything is. All the connectors matched up with my Akasa Zen Case connectors, which I thought was great, as since then I didn't have the same experience with a Thermaltake case. The silent heatpipe, makes this a very quiet motherboard, whereas most normal motherboards would have a rubbish little fan that gets clogged with dust and ends up making a terrible noise. If you need to have a fan on the chipset heatsink, asus provide a fan that slots on to the top of the heatsink. Aswell as the chipset fan, ASUS provide loads of other stuff. ...I have bought from CCL four times over a couple of years. I've bought anything from parts to build a full system to parts I couldn't source anywhere else - and the prices have always been superb. Delivery is very fast and efficient via mail order, allthough quite costly.. approx 6 pounds for courier, but very well packed and protected against damage. You may pick products up free from their headquarters in Bradford, Yorkshire. Allthough there may sometimes be queues, usually you dont have to wait for long. CCL are very good when it comes to products that are faulty. I had CD-RW's fail on me four times and they accepted it back within the warranty and gave me a replacement straight away. I even bought an Akasa heatsink, and it gave me high CPU temperatures and they accepted it back for a full refund. I would recommend CCL computers... Read review

...after 1 year of using it, the hard drive was brand new when I installed it to the enclosure and since I thought it was the drives fault not the enclosures I switched my other hard drive to this enclosure and 1 year later again the same thing is starting to happen with the hard disk slowly dieing out. I am starting to think this enclosure is problematic and it's not the hard drives fault, I suggest buying another model which includes cooling system unlike this enclosure which is probably the reason why the drives are dying out.
