AKG K240 Studio Headphones
Review of AKG K 240 Studio by
Gumbeh
Advantages: Typical AKG bulid quality - sturdy, comfortable and brilliant sounding
Disadvantages: None that i can think of...
...Essentially the same as the old K240 DF's that I replaced, these are another high quality example of AKG's offerings. Sound quality is as excellent as ever.
...Sound...
These are very versatile headphones as the sound reproduction is very good - as useful at home as they are in the studio. They have a good MF and HF range, good LF but can be a bit lacking sometimes - compared to the old 240DF's I had anyway. I use them at work sometimes for sound checks and they have always been pretty reliable.
...Durability...
They've been dropped, contorted and ran over; they still work as well as ever. Reasonably thick, sturdy cable which not only avoids getting tangled up with itself unlike smaller cables, but also helps to prevent damage from twisting, cutting etc.
...Comfort...
This was one of the main reasons I bought the newer...

The IBM ThinkPad 240 - A sub-£200 gem?
Review of ThinkPad 240 C 300 MHz - 10.4" TFT by
mattyprice4004
Advantages: Small size, Lights, Looks smart!
Disadvantages: Some say it looks bland, Small size limits functionality
...Watching the ICT market depresses me. Only a couple of short years ago I invested in the biggest desktop hard disk drive I could ever find - A roomy 120GB Seagate. Now we are up to 750GB, yet these cost only half of what I paid for my drive.
The same is the story with the ThinkPad 240 - I remember when these were £1,699 brand new. Luckily I never bought one new, but I did receive one second hand a few months ago.
This is probably my first review where I have a few serious issues with a product, as the 240 did leave a lot to be desired.
But let's start with what's good. The first thing that will attract a lot of potential buyers to this laptop is it's diminutive size. It truly is amazing how IBM have managed to squeeze a full laptop into such a small case. The screen has a resolution of 800x600 pixels, which is enough for office...

Kodak DC240 say YES to Digital Photography
Review of KODAK DC240 Digital Camera by
eightiescleaners
Advantages: Simple to use good value no films
Disadvantages: Expensive! Photos take ages to download
...When I first bough my PC I ws very excited about buying a digital camera. I liked the advantages of not having to buy any more films or having to load them and the costs of getting them developed. My DC240 cost £350 from an independat retailer I thought I was getting it cheaper untill I looked in comet and found they were going for about £100 less.
I use my camera mainly for photographing products that I sell on online auction sites so it does save me a lot of money and gives me free photos to go on my auctions.
The dc240 allows me to take sharp detailed photos in colour and allows me to transfer them to my PC for either editing or placing them into a document or an e-mail. You can either print them out using your printer or just keep them on your computer in a special album. I often do this as it saves ink on my printer...

Kodak DC 240 a Year on.
Review of KODAK DC240 Digital Camera by
Robin.Watts
Advantages: Ease of use. Quality of pictures
Disadvantages: Battery drain
...I got a Kodak 240 for Christmas 1999. I have used it extensivly and found the camera to be quite exiting really.
There is a LCD display on the back where you can change the options for taking pictures. Your main changes will be for the resolution.
I brought a 8MB and 10MB cards for the camera to store the pictures. The main reason I brought two of this size was for holidays abroad where I would get no chance of downloading them, and then using the cards again.
Before taking pictures it would help to know what you want to do with them. If you are creating a web page, or want to send them by email, turn the resloution down and the size (both physical and memory wise) will decrease allowing the pictures to be send far quicker on the WWW.
If however you want to print them, go to a higher reslolution and the pictures...

Very good little printer (BJC - 210, same as 240)
Review of Canon BJC 240 by
GR-Design
Advantages: Very small reliable printer
Disadvantages: not dual cartridge
...I have used the BJC-210 (the same as the 240, just an older model) for about 3 years and it has never once not worked or given me any hassle. I first bought the printer as i needed one fast for school, so i thought i would buy a cheap one, then upgrade at a later date. I have never needed to upgrade the printer.
The only thing that is a set back about this printer is that it isnt Dual cartridge, so if you want a colour print, you have to put the colour cartridge in and take the black out. therefore if you have a colour page with black text, the black text will come out a very dark green. This is onlly noticeable though if you look very carefully and dosent worry me too much.
The printer is small. It tores the paper upright, and there is no paper tray, so you don't have to have a huge desk to store it on!
very good printer...

Logitech X-240 2.1 Speakers
Review of Logitech 970285-0120 X-240 2.1 by
byprozac
Advantages: Easy Setup, Cheap
Disadvantages: Distortion occurs sooner than on other systems, a lot of subwoofer adjustment is needed
...Logitech X 240 is a great 2.1 system for consumers looking to save some money. These speakers are a good deal and come with a lot of features that other 2.1 systems don't have. It produces a large amount of sound, but they distort a lot easier than some of the other system. Also for each type of music you want to listen to you have to adjust the subwoofer to get a best sound. These are not huge issues though. The subwoofer does give you a good a nice feeling of explosions, but nothing like a 5.1 system would. Gun shots and other game sounds sounded good on the speakers there was some slight distortion when things would explode, but nothing major. I think that this is a great system for anyone looking for a better solution than their monitor speakers or the crappy ones that came with their PC....

Comfortable, Cheap, Does the Job.
Review of AKG K 44 by
cs94njw
Advantages: Comfortable, long lead, self-adjusting head band. NOT Earphones.
Disadvantages: Not sound-proof - can sometimes hear sound around you.
...Technical details:
Type: closed-back, supraaural dynamic headphones
Sensitivity: 115 dB SPL/V
Frequency range: 18 to 20,000 Hz
Rated impedance: 32 ohms
THD: <1 %
Max. input power: 200 mW
Cable: single cable, approx. 2.5 m (8 ft. 3 in.)
Connector: stereo mini jack
Adapter: mini to 1/4" adapter jack
Net weight (without cable): 190 g (6.7 oz)
Opinion:
I hate earphones. I hate the way you have to wedge them into your ear, you're constantly worried whether they'll fall out, and they're about as comfortable as sticking gravel in your ear.
I wanted a cheap pair of *head*phones, that were comfortable, stereo, and if possible from a good manufacturer.
The AKG-44s have been exactly what I'm after. The speaker bits are surrounded by a soft leathery cushion - no rough edges, comfortable, and I feel...

A good pair of decent headphones
Review of AKG K55 by
kittens1980
Advantages: Great price, good quality
Disadvantages: Not quite as detailed as a professional pair - although this is to be expected!
...I consider these headphones to be excellent value for money. While not quite as good quality as AKG's high-end headphones, these are nevertheless an excellent pair of basic decent headphones for what you pay for them.
I bought these for both listening for pleasure and for recording rough demos in the studio, and have found them very suitable for both.
The closed back means they are suitable for studio recording - I have experienced very little leakage - and I find the sound quality is very good - although as you might expect, not as detailed as the more expensive headphones - with an even balance across treble and bass.
They are lightweight and fit comfortably [again, not quite as closely and snugly as a pair that you might pay £90 for, but very well considering the price].
All in all, a useful pair of everyday headphones...
