AKG K240 Studio Headphones

Advantages: Typical AKG bulid quality - sturdy, comfortable and brilliant sounding
Disadvantages: None that i can think of...

...Essentially the same as the old K240 DF's that I replaced, these are another high quality example of AKG's offerings. Sound quality is as excellent as ever. ...Sound... These are very versatile headphones as the sound reproduction is very good - as useful at home as they are in the studio. They have a good MF and HF range, good LF but can be a bit lacking sometimes - compared to the old 240DF's I had anyway. I use them at work sometimes for sound checks and they have always been pretty reliable. ...Durability... They've been dropped, contorted and ran over; they still work as well as ever. Reasonably thick, sturdy cable which not only avoids getting tangled up with itself unlike smaller cables, but also helps to prevent damage from twisting, cutting etc. ...Comfort... This was one of the main reasons I bought the newer...

Review of AKG K 240 DF

Comfortable, Cheap, Does the Job.

Advantages: Comfortable, long lead, self-adjusting head band. NOT Earphones.
Disadvantages: Not sound-proof - can sometimes hear sound around you.

...Technical details: Type: closed-back, supraaural dynamic headphones Sensitivity: 115 dB SPL/V Frequency range: 18 to 20,000 Hz Rated impedance: 32 ohms THD: <1 % Max. input power: 200 mW Cable: single cable, approx. 2.5 m (8 ft. 3 in.) Connector: stereo mini jack Adapter: mini to 1/4" adapter jack Net weight (without cable): 190 g (6.7 oz) Opinion: I hate earphones. I hate the way you have to wedge them into your ear, you're constantly worried whether they'll fall out, and they're about as comfortable as sticking gravel in your ear. I wanted a cheap pair of *head*phones, that were comfortable, stereo, and if possible from a good manufacturer. The AKG-44s have been exactly what I'm after. The speaker bits are surrounded by a soft leathery cushion - no rough edges, comfortable, and I feel...

AKG Hearo 787 headphones

Advantages: signal quality, logic 7 decoder, comfortable and fairly nice to look at too
Disadvantages: cost

.... Of course you don't have to use logic 7, theres also prologic and stereo decoders too, but who would when you have logic 7!! They're also very comfortable, with an auto adjusting headband they don't slip off as you walk around. The battery life is excellent, easily coping with a couple of movies and more; its very easy to keep them topped up as they charge when you place them back in the cradle. In todays world of wireless this and wireless that, its easy to find 2 devices that interfere with each others signals; the AKG easily copes with this, with a convenient channel selector button on the headphones themselves. Perhaps the only real disadvantage of this system is that it is on the pricey side, so you would have to be a complete audio-obsessive to get them....

A good enough device for sure

Advantages: solid build, stable, quiet, easy to install, no problems so far
Disadvantages: mic preamps need more gain - but not a major issue

...I've had the Edirol FA-101 for over eighteen months and it's been performing well. So I can recommend it as a good buy. But you may like to note the following: 1. The mic preamps could do with a bit more gain on them. I use AKG C1000S condenser mics for recording into Adobe Audition and I keep having to 'Normalize' my recordings because the mic preamps aren't providing enough poke. It's not a big deal. But you should know about it. 2. You cannot power this device from a 4-pin Firewire cable. Bus power is only available from a 6-pin Firewire cable. So laptop users with only a 4-pin interface will have to use the supplied power transformer. I would recommend mains power anyway because in my experience many of the problems that people have with bus-powered units (Firewire or USB) are caused by not enough power being available from...

The Germans Do It Again!!

Advantages: Price, ultra lightweight, comfort and bass response
Disadvantages: Muffled mid-range, super long cable when used with a portable player

...got the quality, however, I had also just started my 2nd year of university and knew all too well that a new, classy pair of headphones wouldn't last long! I researched magazines, websites and delved deep into my friend's brains to get as much information as I could, ensuring I got best possible headphones for the circumstances. Everyone knows if you want quality headphones there are certain brands to look out for; a couple of examples could be Shure, Etymotic and AKG…ah yes, quality assured, the problem being the lovely three digit, no decimal prices they put on their labels. This was exactly what I was trying to avoid, I didn't want to spend a hefty sum of money for some "very important person" who thinks they ought to have a pair and 'accidentally' slip them off my ears, into their bag and beat a hasty retreat. So I decided to look...

AKG K77 Wired Headphones

Advantages: Great sound quality and very comfortable.
Disadvantages: Fairly loose if you have a small head!

...I recieved these headphones for christmas this year and was very pleased. I have owned other AKG products before so I was hoping they would live up to my expectations. The quality of these headphones was very good and I was very pleased with the look of them. The sound quality was also very good as the bass realy comes through welland the sound is crystal clear. They are very comfortable and can be adjusted perfectly. My only complaint would be that they feel a little loose and fall of quite easily if you shake your head too much. Being closed back, while you are listening to music or something, there is virtualy no sound escaping for other people to hear. The support that you get from the company is very good as you can ask them anything via email. Overall, the headphones are very good for the ammount you will pay in most shops...

A good pair of decent headphones

Advantages: Great price, good quality
Disadvantages: Not quite as detailed as a professional pair - although this is to be expected!

...I consider these headphones to be excellent value for money. While not quite as good quality as AKG's high-end headphones, these are nevertheless an excellent pair of basic decent headphones for what you pay for them. I bought these for both listening for pleasure and for recording rough demos in the studio, and have found them very suitable for both. The closed back means they are suitable for studio recording - I have experienced very little leakage - and I find the sound quality is very good - although as you might expect, not as detailed as the more expensive headphones - with an even balance across treble and bass. They are lightweight and fit comfortably [again, not quite as closely and snugly as a pair that you might pay £90 for, but very well considering the price]. All in all, a useful pair of everyday headphones...
