My Kawasaki ZX6-R (2003 version)
Review of Kawasaki ZX6R by
gixxer_loui
Advantages: excellent torque and performance and excellent chassis
Disadvantages: riding position can be a strain after a fir bit of miles on a trip
...I have owned my 636 since it first came out.
I have found the sharp response of the chassis when cornering to be close to perfect. I have ridden an R6 and also ridden with R6's on rideouts and I would say the 636 (2003 model to present) has the edge on corners. I would say the R6 wins on comfort (easier forgiving seat) and also riding position. I did feel the strain after around 70 - 100 miles on the bike on some trips. That however is due to the race nature of the bike. The riding position is one of which was designed more for a racetrack.
I have many good rideouts on my 6r and find that when I let a rideout 'friend' take the bike for a spin; they always come back with a smiling face and praise the bike then-on.
I have attached a 'slip-on' Akrapovic aftermarket exhaust on it now and the sound is one which will make you...

Kawasaki ZX9R F1P
Review of Kawasaki ZX9R by
KneeDown
Advantages: It makes you smile (a lot)
Disadvantages: When you cane it the petrol really disappears !
...back down to ground level from the high I am currently on.
So wot is it then ?
A bike that no doubt is not top of the fashion stakes for most people, is not the fastest or most nimble handling and again, for some folks, is not the sexiest looking thing on two wheels – if you believe any of the dross in the bike mags that is – step forward the much maligned Kawasaki ZX9R.
My machine is a 2002 F1P model in a lovely silver colour with 9800 miles on the clock – barely run in. A piccie will appear in my profile shortly – check it out – I think it is beautiful ??????
A few facts and figures for you to get them out of the way. The engine is a Kawasaki stalwart 899 cc across the frame four cylinder nutcase. It runs very noisily at tick over which apparently is a result of the airbox/ram air design letting...

2001 KAWASAKI ZX6R J1
Review of Kawasaki ZX6R by
jonnyzx6r
Advantages: SUPER GOOD LOOKS.
Disadvantages: BIT THIRSTY.
...Ive owned many 600 superbikes over the last few years but i think that you will have to go a long way to beat the zx6-r j1/j2 models.
i would agree that the kawasaki's are not every ones cup of tea but having grown up riding ar50's then stepping up to ar125's then when i was old enough going up a stage went onto a zzr400 this was a very good comfortable bike but being a 400 lacked power.
thats when i decided to go crazy and go for a 600, there is many models, manafacturers out there and tell you the truth they all looked good, but being a kawasaki man got drawn between a zx6-r or a honda cbr600rr. I chose a Y reg 2001 j1 model with 6500 miles on the clock 1 previous owner (which was a sales executive from a local kawasaki dealers) so its been well looked after. the basic guidelines on prices are for a 1998/2001 model in a1 cond £3500...

Another Beautifully Engineered Bike By Kawasaki
Review of Kawasaki GPZ305 by
crazymotorbiker
Advantages: Fuel Economy, Availability Of Spares, Cheap Insurance,
Disadvantages: Rattley Cam Chain, Rattley Transmission,
...engine up i found that the chain had cut into my cylinder block too!!!
This problem seems to be inherent of Kawasaki's of this age (1982 on wards), as my dads mate who had a 550 version also complained of the same problem. On his new Kawasaki though, the problem seems to have been rectified.
On almost all of these Kawasaki's there is almost always some sort of transmission rattle, all the GPZ's i have seen have all had some rattle.
Summary
If your after a decent bike with decent fuel economy and speed you can't go wrong with a GPZ 305. Ive been so impressed with it that I'm going to get the 400.
Another beautifully engineered bike by Kawasaki.
Look on ebay and I'm sure you'll find the GPZ your after.
Cheers....

My Mean Green Kawasaki
Review of Kawasaki ZX7R by
yackers1
Advantages: Powerful, fast, good looks
Disadvantages: heavy, long reach and long legs required
...to the sticks of Norfolk. I got to know the ZX and realised that although this was a sports bike it took a lot to get it out of shape. Some bikes are tempremental in that they are either behave or they don't. There is no warning you are going to be spat off, or that the head is going to shake or it is going to flip. The ZX is not like that at all - If it tank slaps it gives you a warning first and enough time to shut the throttle. If the back end is going to break away it does it slowly - again giving you the chance to react. It is the best sports bike to learn how to ride a 'sports bike' on.
On the way home I took it to my mechanic for a once over. He took it down the road and said "it's a kawasaki" - Not as reliable as a Honda but not as bad as an Italian bike. I was told that it had had a hard life and that it shook its head from 130mph...

Kawasaki Z750 2007
Review of Kawasaki Z750 by
Honest.John
Advantages: Excellent value, awesome looks, easy to live with.
Disadvantages: Relatively expensive insurance.
...I passed my DAS test earlier this year and spent a few months researching which bike to buy. I had a budget of around £5,000 which was not quite enough to buy the new 2007 model Kawasaki Z750.
I have always liked the look and shape of the Z750, which I think is even more improved in the 2007 model. When I found out that there had been a price drop and 0% interest offer on the new model, I went straight to my local Kawasaki dealer.
I bought a brand new black Z750 and although I can't really compare it to any other bike (as this is my first) I absolutely love it. I have just completed the 600 mile run-in which has enabled me to get more used to the bike and improve my general skills. For a novice, the bike is very forgiving considering how powerful it is and I can sense that it will keep me interested for many years to come...

Kawasaki GPZ500S 2001 model
Review of Kawasaki GPZ500s by
minilandrover
Advantages: Low running costs, excellent handling, fast.
Disadvantages: Suspension a bit soft if two up.
..., and faster. 0-100mph and stop in under 800 meters. that takes some beating.
Still some of you out there like me, will be old timers returning to biking after a long break, looking for a cheap to run bike with stamina and that won't make you look like you are riding a moped when it comes to giving it a bit of welly. Excellent town handling, nimble, narrow, nippy, comfortable and very safe. im very happy with mine. well done Kawasaki ......

Cheap and cheerful way to 140mph
Review of Kawasaki GPX750R by
peteshone
Advantages: Cheap, comfortable, and fast for its age
Disadvantages: Aging and moderately difficult to find parts. Not the best handling bike ever
...This Kawasaki is now considered cheap transport, but in its day it was Kawasaki's top sports bike, mixing it in reviews and road tests with lofty models like the Honda VFR750 and Suzuki GSXR750. Sadly at the time it was frankly poor in comparison to either of these bikes. The Honda trounced it in every area, whilst the Suzuki was definitely more sports oriented.
Reviews of the time suggested the Kawasaki was outdated as soon as it was introduced, leading to something of a sales flop, a short model life, and some real low priced bargains.
The GPX 750 was introduced to the UK market as the replacement for the GPZ900R, a bike that ultimately outlasted it by a good ten years.
So what was wrong with it? And how does it shape up now?
The answer to the first question is not much; it was just two years late to market. The other...

Best £400 I ever spent
Review of Kawasaki KMX200 by
snaga3000
Advantages: excellent fast bike with good handling
Disadvantages: only one radiator
...Last October I spent hours and hours trying to find a cheap motocross bike to ride around the fields and bridle ways near where i live on ebay.
I finally came across what was advertised as a mid 80s Kawasaki KX 200. It said it was a bit atty but ran fine. I waited until the last bid and won the bike for £431 at that point i didn't have a trailer so we went to collect it in an estate car.
When we arrived the bike wouldn't start. The man said it was probably the coil that needed replacing and knocked £30. So we paid and then spent ages trying to force this huge motocross bike into the back of a car. Finally (i don't know how) we succeeded.
I got it home and spent hours on it until one day a couple of weeks after I'd bought it, i decided to have it serviced to see if there was anything wrong with it. After being told...

Excellent introduction for youngsters
Review of Kawasaki KX65 by
trimpex
Advantages: The latest model
Disadvantages: None
...My son, who is eight years old, and has ridden motorbikes since the age of four is now racing a KX65. What a fantastic bike! This machine is simply a scaled down version of the adult machines. The power for such a small machine is incredible, it is not for the faint hearted, and I am talking about the parents, not the future stars of motocross!
Kawasaki have certainly produced a brilliant machine with the introduction of this model. Early complaints came from KX60 owners, but this bike does need a different style to be ridden to its full potential. It has to be kept in the power band as much as possible, and will certainly be the bike for any budding riders.
My only complaint is of the quality of the stickers, I understand a common problem with Kawasaki.
My advice, keep a close eye on the brake pad wear.
Please remember if you...
