The Burj Al Arab
Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Price
...This review is about my time at the magnificent and luxury hotel the Burj Al Arab. I was lucky enough to spend two nights at this hotel during New Years Eve and New Years day 2008/2009. I had a friend who?s dad did a tone of import export business and thus I even managed to stay their for free, yes that?s right for free, under the condition that I paid for all my own food, and drink, which I was more than happy to at the time.
Now everyone has either heard about this hotel, been their or at least seen the pictures of what it looks like, and let me tell you its even more breathtaking in real life. This review will hopefully give you an insight into the hotel, information regarding all the rooms in particular the one I stayed in, what the facilities are like, what the food and bar is like as well as the service provided by the hotel...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Al Green
Advantages: Great songs
Disadvantages: None
...Most people are surprised when they hear about my musical tastes. Most see me as someone purely into heavy metal, my friends as heavy metal and clasic rock, but even my very close friends don't seem to understand how far my taste goes. I have always loved every type of metal and some rap and dance but it is only recently when i discovered the wonders of 70's Soul and funk. The first time i heard Al Green was on Pulp Fiction with the song "Let's stay together". I loved the song from the first time i heard it but never looked into it until i bought the movie soundtrack, since then i have been searching Al Green in youtube and discovering all sorts of other great music. I have always been into laid back songs and have often skipped through albums to find that one slow love song. With this collection you get some of the best of Al green...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai
Advantages: A peaceful desert Oasis (Not the band silly!)
Disadvantages: Very, very, very, very expensive!
...Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa is located approximately 60 minutes drive from Dubai International Airport. Transfers can be organised with your tour operator, but will be in two stages. The first stage is a transfer from the airport down the highway and into the desert and onto the perimeter fence of the resort - this should take no more than 45-50 minutes. Once at the perimeter of the Al Maha estate, you will pass through security and await the arrival of the hotels jeeps, who will then transport you up to the main resort, which will usually take another 15 mins or so. Despite the transfer time, particualrly after a 7 1/2 hour flight from the UK, this was not uncomfortable or irritating like some transfers can be, so I hardly noticed the time.
The Resort truly is an Oasis in the desert and is perfect for a romantic break or to kick...

ACER AL1951As TFT Monitor
Advantages: Crystalbrite Background, DVI, 8ms response
Disadvantages: Bulky power supply
...I had this monitor sent to me by Acer after my previous monitor, the AL1914 was deemed beyond repair. My first thoughts were of excitement as the 1951 was of a considderably higher spec than the old monitor.
My excitement became a reality when I got the monitor set up. On opening the box, I found the monitor itself, the power supply, and both a VGA and DVI cable. The stand was already pre-fixed to the monitor and this also doubles up as a wall mounting bracket, should you wish to attach the monitor to the wall. On the back of the base there are sockets for the mains power supply, one for the VGA cable, one for the DVI cable and one for an audio feed, should you wish to make use of the monitors internal speaker. Personally I prefer to use my own speakers so I am unable to comment on this feature.
The first thing you will notice...

Hotel Riad Al Moussika -A fantastic place!Discretely gay friendly
Advantages: The food served is really first class, superior service; perfect location; gay friendly
Disadvantages: Impossible to reserve at the last momemt.
...With my boyfriend I have been at Riyad Al Moussika for 4 nights at the beginning of October and everything has been fantastic! http://www.riyad-al-moussika.com/
Since the moment when the entrance door opened at our arrival, we realised that we have made a good choice. The ever smiling team of boys at the guests? service is really unique for the professionalism they displayed: Nothing was too much trouble and their attitude toward a gay couple as we are, was discrete and full of attention as we were two... honeymooners. As soon as we declared that our holiday was a celebration of the first anniversary of our first year of shared life, a complimentary bottle of French champagne has been offered to us with the touching wishes of hundred years more of mutual happiness!
The hotel is a real gem of Moorish architecture, the suite we had was...

Riyad Al Moussika : Amazing place
Advantages: Good central location, excellent service, food to die for, authenticity
Disadvantages: Difficult to book at the last moment
...We just returned from a 5 day holiday in Marrakech. Al Moussika was our base to explore the medina and for trips to the coast and to the Atlas mountains. The riyad is a carefully and tastefully restored historical building which offers a quiet retreat after a busy day in the pulsating city. There are only 6 bedrooms and many additional sitting rooms including a well stocked library and a room with a grand piano. The weather in january was too cold to use the pool in the beautiful courtyard but we thoroughly enjoyed to relax in the hamam. Breakfast is of very good quality and the lunches were among the best meals we had in Marrakech. The personel is competent and very helpful and offers a friendly, personalized service. Restaurants and Transportation are suggested on request and promtly organized. We highly recommend this riyad

Riad Al Moussika Marrakech : The hidden gem of Marrakesh !
Advantages: Central location, very good value for money, haute-cuisine food, very professional service
Disadvantages: I can't find any
...The Riad Al Moussika, ( www.riyad-al-moussika.com ), where I spent with friends a long weekend at the beginning of our journey to the south of Morocco in early January, is a place that has stopped time, where the magical atmosphere, relives Morocco of Pasha of 1800, but with all the comfort of our century. Everything is perfect, authentic, calm, serene...
I recommend strongly this hotel for its central location, even for the excellent and very professional service provided by the young boys of the staff, always smiling and present without being intrusive.
The chef and owner, Khalid, a nice and helpful big boy, who speaks I do not know how many languages, but among them an excellent Italian that has enabled me to know a world of things about authentic Marrakech, thing impossible otherwise, due to my language limitations, and, most...

Al green's majestic return
Advantages: a wonderful return of an american master
Disadvantages: lyrics
..., the frightfully gifted prodigal son who, throughout mountains of PCP and cocaine, never came home. Stevie Wonder, the golden child who, through the power of his moog and his imagination, took the frenetic joy of the revival to Neptune.
I Can't Stop, Green's first full-length secular album in 26 years, succeeds in both showing how powerful and real the myth of Al Green is and in showing how the myth can differ from the artist as well. It not only shows why he is considered as, arguably, the greatest soul artist of all time, but also the full range of the gifts that made him mythic in nature, as well as the deeply human element of his art that has compelled people to it for over three decades. Those looking for the master of controlled sensuality and nearly unbearable sexual tension that created hit after breathtaking hit in the '70s will leave...
