Alan Rickman can make me a potion anytime
Advantages: Just superb!
Disadvantages: None!!
...read somewhere that he wasn’t all that convinced that he would go on to play the character in future films, bring on Peter O’Toole then say I!!
If there were only one thing I would criticise about the film it would be that it isn’t as incisive as the book. But to be fair that is not really a criticism because how could it be? I mean four pages in a book can be put over in a couple of seconds on screen. For example we all knew what the golden snitch looked like as soon as it was in Harry’s hand in the film, it takes a few pages of the book for us to discover the same. But for that we can take our time.
In a similar vein we can feel Hermione’s eagerness to answer questions thrown at Harry by Snape (how I love Alan Rickman..sigh!) as we read about how J K Rowling describes it in the book. The Great Hall was...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Alan Who?
Advantages: It's different to most music!
Disadvantages: Not everyones cup of tea.
...Alan Jackson is a folk and country singer from Georgia. His music is mainly diddley-dee and all weird guitars and country genres. This isn't really the sort of music that i would like but because my dad bought it i sort of got hooked.
This sort of music is also associated with NASCAR in America.
~~Gone Country~~
This song is fairly upbeat, and its about Alan's girlfriend and about the story of how she 'went country' and went back to her roots. Alan also says in the song thats its his last chance which could indicate many reasons for that line... he wants to tell her he loves her?
~~Drive (For Daddy Gene)
This song is rather annoying and slow in the verses but more lively in the chorus. Alan explains his experiences when his ''daddy'' let him drive. He describes the car in the song and what he can see when hes driving. ''It was...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Poor Show Peter Alan!
Advantages: Local to most people, NAEA Members
Disadvantages: Work for the buyer, not the seller
...This is from a perspective of a seller.
6 years ago, I bought my first house with Peter Alan, being 18 and not being very worldly, I thought their service was alright, lack of communication was my only real gripe with them.
After I moved in, I watched as over the years, Peter Alan boards were going up and having sold slips on them relatively quickly, so when the time came to sell, Peter Alan was an obvious choice, my husband is also an estate agent but markets in a different part of town and he agreed Peter Alan would be the logical choice to sell the house, with their 'local expertise' & they are members of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), which not all estate agents are members of.
I looked up my local branch, phoned and explained I had bought my house through them & now I would like to sell through them...

It's me Alan!
Advantages: Laugh out loud funny from start to finish.
Disadvantages: A bit short, would liked to have read more i was that addicted!
...Alan Carr is a stand-up comedian & television presenter who has risen to fame in the last couple of years. He must be a very busy man, he presents The Sunday Night Project (previously known as The Friday Night Project) he has his own series called 'Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong' in which two teams of celebrities are pitted against each other & answer questions to determine who's best i.e. 'I'm a Celebrity' Contestants VS 'Big Brother' contestants. I must state that Alan Carr is known for his very camp nature & you will either love him or hate him? I love him!
I absolutely love Alan Carr, I'm not a great book reader therefore was a bit sceptical as to whether this book could hold my attention or not. However i gave into temptation when i saw this book in the half price sale for £9.99 & bought it. I was immediately hooked. It begins...

|
It's me, Alan!
Advantages: Genuine person
Disadvantages: Abrupt end!
...This review is for the hardback version of 'Look Who It Is! My Story:' by Alan Carr
Alan Carr has long been on my radar as a great comic presenter and comedian. As one half of the presenting dynamo for 'The Friday/Sunday Night Project', Alan has long been using making me laugh with camp humour, innuendo and cutting sarcasm. With expectations high I delved into his autobiography?.
His TV persona always seems deeply rooted in reality despite his fame and this comes across straight away when we are told how he can't quite believe what his life is like at the moment now he's in the public eye. I've heard this from many a 'celebrity' before but there is something more genuine here; Alan understands what has made him famous and is grateful for it without over-the-top gushing.
The first couple of chapters deal with his childhood...

The Legend - Alan Shearer
Advantages: goals goals goals
Disadvantages: doesnt have blackburn england or southampton goals
...The legend that is Alan Shearer. Not only the greatest goalscorer in Newcastle United's history, but the finest the Premiership has had to offer with a record breaking 260 goals in its history, a long way ahead of his nearest rival Andy Cole.
The DVD itself charters Alan's Career right from the very start when he grew up playing for Wallsend Boys Club till his final goal against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. It also offers an interview with the man himself, where he looks back upon his glorious career and all his fantastic goals, and brings you all 206 of his record breaking Newcastle United goal, from the finesse finish against Aston Villa, to the thunderous volley against Everton.
This is a must buy for any Newcaslte United fan and also for anybody wanting to see some quality strikes.

Alan Carr At His Best!
Advantages: Exactly what you'd expect from this comedien
Disadvantages: Wanted to hear more about Friday Night Project...but I'm sure that'll be in the sequel!
...Alan Carr is certainly one of those celebrities that you really do either love or hate. With such a strong sense of 'campness' and individuality, he either makes people cringe and turn the channel or roll off their chair laughing. Me, I am hooked. If Alan Carr is on the telly, I'm watching. His campness and ability to 'take the mick' out of himself is real, honest and, in my opinion, hysterical.
In his autobiography, "Look Who It Is!", Carr catches the attention of his fans from the book cover. In memory of his childhood holidays at the beach, the comedian opts for a book sleeve that's guaranteed to entertain- a cartoon drawing of a weight lifter with his own cheesy grin peeping through insert-head-here hole. It's eye-catching to say the least!
As with every autobiography, Alan Carr begins by talking of his childhood, one that was not...

Alan Carr, what a star ***
Advantages: Great front cover, hysterically funny
Disadvantages: Some parts seemed a little too rushed
...''Alan is the spiritual son of Frankie Howerd''. (Quote from City Life) I think that says it all?.
With big thanks to my boyfriends sister I am now the very proud owner of Alan Carr's 'Look who it is' book. It is immediately going to be added to my vast collection of autobiographies and I shall make certain that it gets the hot spot where the morning sun can warm its fringe, it deserves a shrine!
I am not exaggerating when I say it is the most hysterically funny autobiography I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Initially I thought Peter Kay's was amusing but this beats it by a mile. The front cover is an instant attraction. Alan has portrayed himself to be at a seaside resort and he has been photographed with his face on a little man with huge muscles lifting weights. Is he trying to convince us that he has little muscles...
