Albany Lions Eastbourne Hotel
Advantages: Location, clean and good value fo money
Disadvantages: caters more for an older clientel
...Stayed to this hotel for weekend during the summr.
I booked it on the internet. It was a last minute decision.
I found the hotel had all the facilities I required.
The room was small but clean and conforable. The decor was ok. The room had tea/coffee making facilities.
A clean shower, plenty of towels.
The TV was abit basic but you could watch all the basic channels.
The restaurant was open and inviting. The food good if a little basic.
The bar area was fine and the bar snacks ok.
I found the place had entertainment a singer but I returned back too late to hear him.
When I went it was a quiet weekend I think as everyone seemed to have gone to bed by 11:00pm. I did nottice at breakfast this hotel semed very popular with an elder clientel.
Breakfast was a help yourself affair.
The staff were all very helpful and accomodating...

ONE FOR THE HOTEL INSPECTOR
Advantages: Location, price & views
Disadvantages: Standard of rooms, maintenance issues, no parking & pretty much no standards
...throughout the day and you can relax on the terrace with a coffee.
All our bedrooms have recently been refurbished and feature en suite shower or bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, hospitality tray, hairdryer and many with fridges and DVD's.
INTRODUCTION
Leading up to the bank holiday me and my boyfriend were deciding on what to do and came up with a day in Brighton but the only problem is we live in the midlands so it is quite a way to travel so I set about trawling the net for a fairly priced room for the night up to £100. After a few enquiries it became clear you couldn't get a hotel in Brighton for 1 night over the weekend and due to work commitments it just wasn't possible to stay for 2 nights so we decided to opt to stay in Eastbourne for the night and travel back to Brighton for the day.

Agatha Christie sort of hotel
Advantages: quietly luxurious but not pretentious
Disadvantages: None
...If you fancy a few days away near the coast in England but want to stay somewhere just that little bit more grown up and luxurious then this could be the place for you.
The Grand hotel in Eastbourne is an Agatha Christie type hotel. You draw up on the drive and there is someone there offering to take your bags.
When you walk in, you walk into a wonderful high ceilinged cavernous public area where the seating is arranged around fireplaces, paintings adorn walls and flowers decorate tables. The atmosphere created immediately made me feel that I was going to have an enjoyable stay.
On the left is a morning/lounge room where you can sit and have tea and cakes, help yourself to the complimentary fruit and newspapers or just watch the world go by. On the right is a ballroom style dining room.
There are lifts up to the bedrooms which...

I love Eastbourne
Advantages: Sunny, plenty to do for kids and adults, wonderful scenery
Disadvantages: I don't live there ........
...Last year, I started dating someone new. Someone who lived in Eastbourne, giving me the first chance in 6 years of being a mum to properly get away and have a break and a bit of sunshine on the beach. Of course, it's not the reason I'm dating him, just a rather nice side effect of the relationship .
Eastbourne is a large town situated in the south coast of England, which enjoys a large amount of sunshine and warm weather, amongst some rather wonderful views . You have the 4 mile stretch of pristine shingled beaches, the magnificent downs, Beachy Head, and all manner of wonderful things provided by nature to marvel at .
I've been to Eastbourne twice - once by train, and once by coach . Naturally, routes will vary depending on where you are travelling from, but on both occasions my journey from Nottingham involved a change at London...

Sunny Eastbourne
Advantages: Sunny Weather. A Floral Town. Nice Promenade
Disadvantages: Pebble Beach
...I would most certainly regard Eastbourne as gracious. It has a lengthy and very elegant promenade replete with gorgeous flowers in bloom. It has some of the best hotels in Sussex and its shopping centre, including the one-stop Arndale Centre,is not bad at all.
The entertainment scene is also quite good. I have certainly come across some pubs of real character, there are plenty of good eateries and not many tacky joints that are often associated with brasher seaside resorts. I dont know much about the club scene but other reviewers sugggest it is quite reasonable.
Aside from the inherent attractions of the town itself,it also makes a good base for touring the many pleasant towns and villages in East Sussex. There is delightful Rye to explore. sedate Bexhill-on-Sea appeals to some, Hastings and 1066 and all that, Pevensey Castle...

Eastbourne Seafront Travelodge
Advantages: Takes pets; cheap rooms
Disadvantages: mundane room interiors; breakfasts being downsized
...We've all heard of this chain I'm sure, but did you know they let you bring your pets? In case you didn't realise, Travelodge will accept pets in the rooms, which is the main reason I choose them, so my Labrador can come too. You pay a £10 extra fee on arrival for pets but with the rooms being so cheap I don't mind. Travelodges are wonderful value for money. The most I've ever paid to stay in one is £39, but the last couple of occasions has been just £19 a night for the room, which if there's two of you sharing is excellent value for money. The Eastbourne Travelodge (not the Hellingly one - the newer one they have just acquired) is right on the seafront and when I last stayed there in October we got a seafront room which was fantastic. The only drawback was the fact that you couldn't open the French doors onto the little balcony...

Lovely Lansdowne
Advantages: Nice Rooms, Good Bar, Games Rooms
Disadvantages: Garages
...I live in the North but earlier this year I had to go down to Eastbourne to go to a funeral. I needed to stay in a Hotel for a couple of nights as there was nowhere else to stay. This hotel appealed to me as it was good value for money and offered decent facilities. Although it was only two stars I had heard it was a decent hotel from friends. The Hotel room was fairly cheap and cost £50-£60 a night. I can't remember the exact figure but it was not much more exensive than a travel inn which is why I opted to stay in the hotel
Bar:
------
Ther bar was very nice and served many different types of drink including soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. The bar was split into two seperate sections. One section was sort of like a quiet area and the side closest to the bar had a TV with sky on it. On the first night I stopped in the bar...

Eastbourne for oldies
Advantages: relaxing, fresh air
Disadvantages: so many super-adults
...As you drive from Hastings through to Eastbourne, the hair gets greyer, and the gait less certain, and then the age reverses as you drive on to Brighton. Lines of friendly grannies sit in the perimeter sun lounges of grand, sea facing hotels, waiting for the next cup of tea and cake. Chirpy chappie coach drivers in maroon blazers soaked up the maternal attention. We were there in the May ½ term, and had a very good deal on a hotel break at the York House hotel. (£39pp DBB per night) So many hotels, so little custom... We had a lovely room – huge – overlooking the sea. On the 3rd floor, so I think we got it because the silver-haired couldn’t make it that far. Food was a bit institutional and micro portions for the bird like appetites around. We were hemmed in at meal times, like some residential home, so I’d go...

Hotel International
Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...
