The Accident Record supports childcare providers to fulfil their EYFS requirements for recording and dealing with accidents involving the children in their care. The record sheets within the book contain all the information required to enable the complete and accurate recording of accidents and injuries. Compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998, each record is used for accidents involving one child only, so that when parents sign to confirm that they have been informed of an accident involving their child they cannot see other childrenīs records. Records are kept in the book, rather than removed, allowing providers to easily identify any reoccurring accidents; in order to facilitate effective risk assessment procedures and promote accident prevention. A template for an Ambulance Request Form, which can be photocopied, enables practitioners to respond quickly and appropriately in an emergency. To assist in satisfying reporting requirements, guidance is provided on accidents that are reportable to the Health and Safety Executive under RIDDOR regulations, Ofsted and local child protection agencies. Additional advice is given on insurance requirements for providers that are covered by the Pre-school Learning AllianceInsurance scheme, underwritten by RSA.

Millions of people around the world are involved in direct selling. There are 12 million in the United States alone! Almost 74 percent of direct sellers are women. An estimated 46 million people in the world are involved in direct selling, according to the "Direct Selling Association." In less than ten years this number is expected to grow to an unbelievable 200 million! With more people looking for careers that offer independence, flexibility, and tremendous income potential, this book offers a one-stop source of nuts-and-bolts advice, insights, and practical sales skills. "Build It Big: 101 Insider Secrets from Top Direct Selling Experts" addresses the three most popular models of direct selling: * network marketing (e.g., "Amway") * party planning (e.g., "Pampered Chef") * person-to-person(e.g., "Guardian Life Insurance") The training that many of these companies offer is limited and typically covers only product features and benefits, basic sales techniques, recruitment, and order processing. Through extensive research, the "Direct Selling Women's Alliance" (DSWA) has identified four crucial ""life skills"" that often are neglected or omitted from a company's training and support program: * Financial and tax guidance. * Coaching and leadership skills development. * Business management and technology training. * Daily success practices and implementation. "Build It Big" unveils the methods and approaches in developing these skills that, DSWA believes, are the true linchpins of growth and long-term sales stability. The disciplined approach and real-life insights from some of the most successful and talented people in the direct selling business will have broad appeal to rookies and veterans alike, especially for people who are opting for direct selling for part-time work, extra income, and the autonomy it offers.

The biopharmaceutical industry has been a major driver of technological change in health care, producing unprecedented benefits for patients, cost challenges for payers, and profits for shareholders. As consumers and companies benefit from access to new drugs, policymakers around the globe seek mechanisms to control prices and expenditures commensurate with value. More recently the 1990s productivity boom of new products has turned into a productivity bust, with fewer and more modest innovations, and flat or declining revenues for innovative firms as generics replace their former blockbuster products. This timely volume examines the economics of the biopharmaceutical industry, with 18 chapters by leading academic health economists. Part one examines the economics of biopharmaceutical innovation including determinants of the costs and returns to new drug development; how capital markets finance R&D and how costs of financing the biopharmaceutical industry compare to financing costs for other industries; the effects of safety and efficacy regulation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and of price and reimbursement regulation on incentives for innovation; and the role of patents and regulatory exclusivities. Part two examines the market for biopharmaceuticals with chapters on prices and reimbursement in the US, the EU, and other industrialized countries, and in developing countries. It looks at the optimal design of insurance for drugs and the effects of cost sharing on spending and on health outcomes; how to measure the value of pharmaceuticals using pharmacoeconomics, including theory, practical challenges, and policy issues; how to measure pharmaceutical price growth over time and recent evidence; empirical evidence on the value of pharmaceuticals in terms of health outcomes; promotion of pharmaceuticals to physicians and consumers; the economics of vaccines; and a review of the evidence on effects of mergers, acquisitions and alliances. Each chapter summariz
