The Body Shop - Almond Oil Daily Hand & Nail Cream
Review of The Body Shop Almond Oil Intensive Hand Rescue by
kristenstal
Advantages: Leaves hands feeling silky smooth and smells lovely
Disadvantages: Hands are greasy for a couple minutes after application
...I purchased a daily hand and nail cream from the body shop a couple of months back as my hands are often dry after washing.
I have found this product to be much better than other products I have used on my hands for example nivea and vaseline. Not that I dislike the other products I have used but they just leave my hands greasy for ages and I cant do nothing with them. The body shops Almond Oil Hand and Nail Cream does have my hands feeling greasy, however, only for a couple of minutes. After that they become extremely soft and supple yet you can not feel that anything is on your hands. It also smells very nice because of the almond oil but it also contains community traded shea butter, soya oil and beeswax to help protect against dryness and moisture loss.

* Smooth and creamy like a Roasted Almond? *
Review of Boots Mediterranean Almond Pistachio & Milk Body Butter by
galaxynicole
Advantages: leave skin feeling soft, nice smell, only need to use small amounts.
Disadvantages: if you don't like the smell of almond, this is not for you!
...that fool you.
What it says the lid: Body Butter with nourishing ORGANIC almond oil, moisturising pistachio oil and skin softening milk extract.
Directions: Massage over body after shower or bath. DERMATOLOGICALLY TESTED. Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes rinse well with water immediately.
The body butter is quite thick so there's no worry that it would spill out of the tub. It's not sticky or greasy. It feels very smooth to the touch. The smell that comes from the tub once you've opened it, well, it's good enough to eat, which bring me to another point.
Please keep out of reach of children as one of my friend's children thought it was a nice creamy yoghurt. No clue why but she nearly had it in her mouth (I didn't know she was coming round so it was just left on the table). It does say on the back that it...

Almond and Coconut Hair
Review of Original Source Almond & Coconut Shampoo by
just.bcoz
Advantages: smells nice, leaves hair looking and feeling healthier and stonger
Disadvantages: none really
...or so after I had initially washed it with the shampoo.
I have been using the Original Source Shampoo daily for over a week now and I haven't suffered from a dry itchy flaky scalp nor has my hair felt greasy or oily. In-fact the shampoo has left my hair looking and feeling better since I started using it. I think that my hair feels stronger and smoother than it was before I started using the shampoo and my hair also looks a lot shiner and healthier. One of the main reasons my hair looks and feels better is because the shampoo contains Almond and Coconut Essential Oils which help to nourish and revive your hair.
I am really pleased with the results from using the Original Source shampoo and matching conditioner that I cant pick out any faults. I have now bought a few other products in the Original Source range so as I can try them...

I am really pleased with the results from using the Original Source shampoo and matching conditioner that I cant pick out any faults. I have now bought a few other products in the Original Source range so as I can try them out; (although I wont be buying the Mint or Tea Tree and Lavender shower gel again because these are the products which made me dislike Original Source in the first place). There are a few other different fragranced shampoos and conditioners in the Original Source range which also contain...

The scent of almonds!
Review of Original Source Almond & Coconut Shampoo by
frankiecesca
Advantages: The smell and makes hair nice and clean
Disadvantages: At full price the bottle isn't as big as some other brands
...so this may be a factor in why the scent lasts so long.
The product:
The product itself as in the liquid is quite think which is much better I think than some shampoos which seem a bit thin. It lathers up really well once I put it on my hair and I don't need to use a lot to get my hair clean which means that the bottle will last that bit longer.
Other information:
The bottle states that the shampoo is packed with 100% pure and natural essential oils and therefore may not be suitable for your skin so if you normally do have a reaction to certain oils I would advise to maybe do a skin test first. We are advised that real crushed almond kernels are crushed to get the genuine almond oil.
Overall opinion:
I really like this product and will happily use it on my hair - the only problem for me is that whilst it's on offer it's not too...

lilyellowfish

...essential oils along with Vitamin E, it is designed to deeply penetrate and protect both natural and acrylic nails as well as your skin. It comes in a more liquidous form than other oils like massage oils and cooking oils.
Solar Oil contains Jojoba Oil which helps Vitamin E penetrate deeply into the skin, this prevents cellular damage and eliminates visible signs of aging, so is good to start using whilst young. Almond body butter
Review of The Body Shop Almond Body Butter by
paulathomson89
Advantages: Smells amazing - just don't eat it
Disadvantages: You might just eat it!
...This is part of The Body Shop's almond range, which also consists of a shower gel, scrub and body lotion. It comes in a round 200ml tub and has a sticker on the top of almonds. It costs £12 a tub but does last a long time. It gives up to 24 hours moisturisation and soaks in almost instantly. It contains sweet almond oil which provides an essential fatty acid to help repair the moisture barrier of the skin. It also contains shea and cocoa butter which melt at body temperature and provide you with soft and supple skin. They also help reduce any scars or stretchmarks that you may have. it can also be used in your bath by placing a scoop under running bath water to give you a lovely milky and moisturising bath. I love this body butter as it just smells devine, and if you layer it up with the shower gel or soap the fragrance lasts...

Castor oil as a skin cleanser (OCM)
Review of Castor Oil by
8ofspades
Advantages: Cheap, great for your health, natural, can adjust quantities in skin care
Disadvantages: None really - some people may be sensitive to it, but it's rare
...to experiment if this is the case! You can replace EVOO with other moisturising carrier oils such as Jojoba, Sweet Almond or Apricot Kernel.
+You can use this method as often as suits you. For a while I was using this twice daily with great results. At one point this was too much for my skin so I switched to using it only at night, and using Witch Hazel in the morning.
Witch Hazel is also a great skin cleanser, particuarly for oily skin. On dry, sensitive or mature skin try using Rose Water instead of Witch Hazel.
+You can add essential oils to the mixture if you would like - Sometimes I use either Lavender (great for general skin care & healing - also it is one of the milder essential oils) or Tea Tree (great for pimples & oily skin)
Essential Oils are concentrated substances - and you only need tiny amounts for them to be effective - if you...

Get all lovey Dovey in the shower with this!
Review of Dove Cream Oil Shower Cherry Blossom and Almond Oil by
Hezoid
Advantages: Smells lovely, makes your skin soft and smooth!
Disadvantages: Not sure if it's out yet!
...and not at all harsh. Once I got out of the shower my skin definitely felt very soft, smooth and more moisturised that when I went in the shower. I was very pleased with this as I’ve found that a lot of shower gels I use to dry my skin out, and very few leave it feeling moisturised. In fact I didn’t really need to use body lotion afterwards, and normally I apply body lotion straight after each shower as I do suffer from dry skin. I would definitely agree that it left my skin feeling moisturised and velvety soft, even just after the first use. I was very pleasantly surprised!
~~~ The smell ~~~
The scent of this particular Dove Cream Oil Body Wash is called Cherry Blossom & Almond Oil. The little leaflet I got with my free sample pack describes it as being a ‘sensual blend of flowers and softness,’ which is a bit vague...
