...When I decided that I was going to have my bedroom renovated I made the decision to buy myself a flat screen TV. I wanted something that was not too expensive and at the same time had all the features that I wanted. I did not want a TV that was tacky to look at either. I searched around and found this TV just about to be released. I went for it and have not regretted it once. I have wall mounted the TV using a wall mount purchased from B&Q (a well known DIY chain) this cost me around £40 which was far cheaper than many of the alternatives I could find on the internet. The TV looks awesome on the wall; although the swivel stand that it comes with looks equally good if you did not want to wall mount the TV. ...then lock it into the stand by turning 2 screws on the back of the TV. Obviously if you wanted to - you could have this screen fitted into your wall, or alternatively on a wall bracket. Rented accomodation, so this just wasnt an option for me. The TV itself is VERY easy to set up. The power lead was attached, and the scart lead from my SKY box. The TV when first turned on - will ask for confirmation of your Country, and also Language ( basic set up information ) The TV then also runs through and automatic channel search, so that if you had an analogue aerial attached to the TV, it would find all of the relevant channels that would be available. As I use SKY, and had this connected via a SCART cable from the SKY box to one of the two SCART sockets on the TV, the 'AV1' channel became my 'TV' - Immediately I could see that the picture... To be honest, I have never heard the original song, and I don't know how close it is to the original, but they sound great on it, and it is a powerful track for something that plays out so slowly. You can imagine some of the songs on "Stand Still Look Pretty" being put to good use on an American teen drama - oh wait, they already have! Their songs have appeared in both "One Tree Hill" and "Smallville" - some may sniff at this but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. I think myself that when a song is used as a soundtrack to a particular moment, whether it's a film or a tv programme, it shows how much a song's melody and lyrics can relate to a certain point in someone's life, and isn't that one of the reasons why music is so powerful? .... The film wasn’t a hit on the cinema and made most of its money on rental and TV. Evaluation/My opinion. Like I mentioned earlier I would happily sit through Last Man Standing again, but just to enjoy the excitement of the well-shot shooting sequences, that are in the many. The special effects that are used (mainly in the shooting scenes) are well used and the make-up is well done. I would have to give ‘Last Man Standing’, Six out of ten – mainly for the excitement. However the story line was acceptable. I think it is clear to say that both Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken could both do and get better parts than this. AN ENJOYABLE DISSAPOINTMENT. ...The Stand-Up show is one of the funniest programmes on TV at the moment, and it's broadcast every Saturday night on BBC ONE. Funny-man Tommy Tierman (previously Adral O Hanlon) introduces the show, which see many new and recognised comedy faces taking the stand-up stage. It's refreshing to see new up-and-coming comedians take to the stage these days, as it's this generation that will produce the comedy geniuses of the future - people like Dom Jolly (Trigger Happy TV), and Ed Byrne who is currently touring the UK, thanks to the success of The Stand Up Show. Just like the Comedy Store, people come here to see what reaction they'll get from the crowd, and if they have a future as comedian.
