SPR694A, Do they deserve their Alpine badge??
Review of Alpine SPR694A by  Mattayre1981

Advantages: These speakers will handle large amounts of power and are more than willing to do so for long periods of time. They have rather punchy bass so I find that they work very well along side a sub and they have great midrange sound.
Disadvantages: Quite weighty so if you're planning on installing them into a standard parcel shelf be prepared to stregthen it, better still would be to replace the shelf with a wooden one.

...I reluctently purchased these 6x9's about 6 months ago after becoming sympathetic with passangers in the rear of my car only being able to hear the constant drowning of sub bass. Having not run any speakers in the rear for quite some time because I rather spend money on SQ upfront (the place your ears point to) and on sub bass, I was very dubious as to how this would affect the overall sound of the system. I already had the Alpine SPR176A components up front and was more than happy with them so I thought that I'd give their 6x9 cousins a try. When they arrived I was impressed by the build quality of the basket and cone, they come with the same silk dome tweater as the Alpine compnents so I pretty much knew what to expect. I hooked them up to my Alpine 4ch amp and fired them up!! "oooh dear" they sounded dreadful, the bass... Read review

BRUIN ALPINE - great if your baby isn't nosey!
Review of Bruin Alpine Stroller by  Lovin_Angel

Advantages: Pockets in Hood, Suitable from birth, Easy to steer, Lightweight, Shopping basket
Disadvantages: Does not sit bolt upright.

...I bought this stroller from Babies R Us in December 2005. At the time I needed a lightweight stroller due to my 6 month old daughter having grown out of her travel system car seat and the Graco buggy being too heavy to drag in and out of the boot every day during the school run. Whilst in Babies R Us we saw the Bruin Alpine Stroller. Its style appealed to me and I was even more impressed when I saw the price. HOW MUCH? It was originally £69.99 but this particular day it had £10 off so was £59.99 and we also had a voucher for £5 off any stroller over £30 so the final price was £54.99. Bargain. CAN YOU BUY IT ONLINE? Yes you can buy it online from the Babies R Us website. If you go to babiesrus.co.uk go to travel, then find pushchairs and on page 2 you should find the Alpine. You can also order it via their catalogue through... Read review

Alpine 9855r
Review of Alpine CDA-9855 R by  cward129

Advantages: Alpine 9855r - Touch Glide, BioLite Display, MP3.
Disadvantages: None

...i recently purchased this amazing unit by Alpine from BassJunkies for just over £300. Its a fantastic unit that contains many different features hence the thick user guide that comes with the unit. The unit is fully customizable with the options of changing button colours, background movies, many diifferent preset factory equalisers aswell as manual setupus to customize the sound to your own personal liking. I have only had the item about a week and i am loving every little detail and feature that it contains. The sound quality through my pioneer rear speakers is spot on as with the bulit in equalisers alows me to make the sound perfect. I previously had a sony but there is no comparison to my new unit. I thought fitting of this would be a right pain however for £15 pounds i was able to match my car to the lead that come from... Read review

I love my twin alpine.
Review of Mothercare Urban Detour Twin Alpine by  lingdar

Advantages: Easy to push and steer, appears comfortable.
Disadvantages: Heavy to lift when folded, shopping basket awkward to get to.

...I bought my Mothercare urban detour twin alpine three wheeler pushchair 2 1/2 years ago after having twins. I needed a pushchair that was suitable for 2 newborns, easy to push and strong enough to last until my children were walking. We had looked at many before deciding on this one. The twin alpine is suitable from birth, has a lockable front swivel wheel, quick release rear tyres, pneumatic tyres with a pump, and comes with removable cosytoes, a raincover and a shopping basket. It is from Mothercare and is priced at £230. There has been has change in the fold mechanism since I bought mine. It is now one-handed but i can't comment on how easy that is. My pushchair has had heavy use, it is a dream to push, the children appear to be very comfortable in it and it is easy to fold and open. Disadvantages that I have found... Read review

Monitor Your Baby
Review of Tomy Walkabout Baby Advance Monitor by  newby2

Advantages: peace of mind
Disadvantages: none

...Baby Walkabout Advance from Tomy Living in a flat I felt I did not really need the most high tech and expensive of monitors and just needed one that really did the job. I was looking at all the ones available to buy on Amazon and this one sprang out at me. It was not the cheapest monitor going but it certainly was not the most expensive either. Monitors range from about £15 up to an astonishing £100 plus. The latest ones out on the market offer a television screen where you are actually able to see your baby as well as hear their sounds and monitor room temperature. I feel however the television screen is a little bit much and think I would find myself glued to the screen while all the time away from the baby. This particular baby monitor set me back only £29. I think this is a fair price for what you are getting... Read review

Bt digital baby monitor plus
Review of BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus 120-channel by  superstar1212

Advantages: Lullaby's, Intercom
Disadvantages: Battery life is not very good, night light feature also a little poor

...I brought the BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus about two years ago from Argos priced £69.79. I have had other baby monitors in the past but this design is by far the best as it has many useful functions. It is quite pricey but you will not be disappointed once you have it, mine is on all day everyday. The monitor comes as two separate unit’s the larger one is for the nursery ideally near the cot and the parent handset which I keep down stairs. Both are connected to the mains and the parent handset has re-chargeable batteries (2x AA supplied). The parent handset has a 50 metres indoor range and 300m range for when you are on the move around the house it comes complete with a belt clip to fasten it safely to your waist band. The area of range was essential for me when my little one was newborn. It meant I could keep an ear on him while I... Read review

Baby monitor your neighbours
Review of Fisher Price Sounds 'n' Light baby monitor by  katbuzza

Advantages: It looks nice
Disadvantages: Can't hear baby, lights don't change when baby makes noises

...We all read and hear about cot death nearly everywhere we go - it is in the papers, on billboards, everywhere... So as a new mother and reading and hearing about these sort of things, it is quite natural to want to have a bit of constant security in knowing that your baby is sleeping safe and sound in his or her cot. Therefore I bought the Fisher-Price Sounds & Lights Monitor at Babies 'R US. At the time I thought that it was a good deal at £25.00 because it claimed to do everything that I expected a good monitor to do. The Fisher-Price Sounds and Lights monitor claims to have a variable light display that lets you see the sounds the baby makes. There are 5 lights displayed on the parent's monitor which are meant to allow you to see the baby's level of activity, but, after 4 months, I am still waiting to see how this actually... Read review

...Hurray! My monitor arm has finally arrived from our computer suppliers! At last! ------------------------ Why did I buy it? ------------------------ I got my manager to buy me this monitor arm as I was experiencing sharp back pains due to using the computer all day long. Digital monitor for real peace of mind!
Review of BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus by  katherine78

Advantages: Excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: expensive, not all features are really necessary

...I bought my first baby monitor when I was pregnant, I searched around online and looked at different monitors. One piece of advice I was given was to get one which shows the temperature in babys room. I found the Maws Reassurance 8, this one had a thermometer and I assumed MAWS was a reliable name and so I expected the monitor to be a good one. As soon as I got the monitor I tested it out. I immediately noticed it made a constant clicking noise when it was. I assumed this was a fault and tried to call MAWS customer service to see if they had any suggestions. Don't bother even trying! No one ever answered. So I emailed the seller and she told me it had always made that sound, she had just come over it by not having the volume very high - to me this defeats the object of having a monitor. I asked around other mums and quite a few... Read review

BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus
Review of BT Digital Baby Monitor Plus by  mikehel

Advantages: Talk back feature, No interference, very clear sound,
Disadvantages: Expensive

...I already had a tomy baby monitor from my first child but it was a few years between children. This meant that technology had moved forward a bit and newer monitors had much better features. The main reason that we went for the bt digital baby monitor plus was because it is a true digital monitor, unlike the tomy monitor which claimed to be digital however only had 2 channels. This meant that if somebody had the same monitor in the area then it would pick up on their noises. You do not get any interference what so ever with the bt digital monitor plus. Make sure that if purchasing a digital monitor, that it is true digital and has more than 2 channels. The sound quality is excellent, on occations we have heard our baby breathing when on the highest sensitivity, which is adjustable from your handset. The next great feature... Read review
