...Altec Lansing IM600 is good product. It is light weight. It is easy to fold up.As its size is compact you can carry it easily.Its sound quality is good. It has built in Radio. It present up to four stations. This product came with remote control. Some of its good qualities: compact design. video out put. auxiliary input. FM radio. recharageable batteries. seven hours of conti. back up. some poor qualities: doesn't secure your ipod from falling out. Alarm clock functions work with only ipod. battery not removeable. Fm band wider than its need. You may have problem with it if you use out doors because of atteries. Its sound quality is good. It is cheap . It is good for people who dont want to spend much money on products like this. It will recomended for use....

...After looking around for ages I finally decided on this based on many reviews of many products online and from talking to friends etc. I am very happy with my purchase. The IM600 is lightweight, easy to fold up and carry around in a rucksack/handbag. While plugged in to a socket, your iPod charges as you play it, and when you use it away from a power source the lithium ion battery kicks in (up to 8 hours playback apparently, although I have never used it that long). The sound quality is as good with or without the power supply, which I was really happy about. It also comes with a remote control which is handy and can be used from a good distance away! To top it all off it also has a built in radio and you can preset up to four stations. So all in all I really recommend this product! I have no complaints at all!...

...After my Sennheiser CX 300's snapped a friend gave me his Altec Lansings. At first they did take some getting used to as they are bigger than the CX 300s, I would prefer them slightly smaller. Background noise isn't a problem but initially you may find the silicone tips take a bit of wiggling about to get them to fit exactly if you want them to block out all background noise. You'll get used to the positioning very quickly so it won't be a problem for long. The noise isolation level is 16dB which as far as I'm aware is more than those of the CX 300 which I think is around 12dB. If you need more than 16dB there's also a Professional set which have a noise isolation level of 26dB and generally higher spec. The cable is a cloth cable making the durability greater. The earphones also come with a pouch to store them in and several sets...

A must have for all serious IPOD owners.

Advantages: Superior sound quality. Credit card remote
Disadvantages: Expensive, Mains only, Some design flaws.

It is the size of a credit card and almost as thin... basic controls only, but it looks good and allows room on the sofa for the other monster size sattelite and DVD remotes. No need to point directly at speaker either. Connectivity Again not as good as other systems such as Altec Lansing IM3. There is no input connections (so you cant play any other media) and as stated above no outputs for external BAss systems. Display Another trivial problem that makes sure that the best mini and midi hi fi systems just edge the Dock. The system depends upon the IPOD display screen, which as you may well know is small and difficult to read at range. ...the instructions don't tell you and if you put it in the wrong way it gets stuck in there! 5) A major design fault is the fact that when the speakers are charged via the batteries or mains supply it constantly charges your iPod and there is no auto-turn off to stop it doing this! I have found the more that my iPod is charged the quicker it runs out of batteries so I find this very annoying and unhelpful. Customer Service I can fault the design of the speakers but I cannot fault the customer service team at Altec Lansing. Every time I have rang the company they have been very polite and helpful to somebody who is on their fourth set of speakers and I have not had to wait hours in a queue listening to music with the occasional "please hold". Apple iPod Dock Connector

Advantages: Easy to use, decent speed

...This cable comes with your iPod. It's the only way provided free with the iPod for you to recharge it. You plug it into a desktop or laptop computer and your iPod will charge via the power provided to the computer. It seemed adequate enough when I was first using it, as long as the cable works and it's not too slow there aren't many complaints you can have unless it breaks. Clearly my luck isn't too good. The cable broke after 2-3yrs, it didn't snap so initially I wasn't sure why my iPod wouldn't recharge but which is cheaper, replacing the iPod battery or buying a new cable? I wasn't too pleased to find out the price of a new cable so I decided to go with a cheap import from Hong Kong (not an iPod brand cable) which cost me only £2-3 and I've had no problems with it as of yet. I certainly wouldn't pay the £13-16 the iPod cable...

...I bought this unit in November this year. There are two models, the original sound dock which I think is about £199 and the second generation one (the one I bought) which was £279 from John Lewis. The second generation one is basically the same as the first except: a) it has a rechargeable battery b) it has a swing out dock c) it has an auxiliary (3.5mm) jack input If you just want a basic model, then go for the first gen one. I got the second gen one because I thought the battery was a useful addition as is the auxiliary 3.5mm input - I have mine connected to an apple airport express that streams itunes from my laptop to my bedroom although I have used it in a friends house with my ipod too. ...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. Can't say enough good things about the Bose SoundDock

Advantages: size, ease of use, sound quality
Disadvantages: can't connect to a computer, price

...figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running out of battery while using the SoundDock. I think the best thing I could say about this, is that two people, after having listened to my SoundDock have literally rushed out and bought their own. I've had this almost a year now and my overall conclusion is this...it's small, it's pretty and it sounds bloody brilliant....
