Alton Towers- What a day

Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time

...After a visit to Alton Towers theme park, I thought it was about time I complete a review on my experience there. Why Alton Towers We as a group chosen Alton Towers for many reasons, but mainly because it has many fantastic rides that will take your breath away, in addition to the fantastic scenery. We had heard from other friends that it's an adventure for children and adults alike. We wanted to go somewhere that we would have a fantastic time and also be able to get some memorable pictures and stories Getting There We driven from Scotland (Edinburgh) - It taken approximately 5hrs to drive there, that was leaving at 2am and getting to Stoke at 7am. Alton Towers theme park is a 20 min drive from Stoke. Travelling from the North you need to take Junction 15 off the M6, when travelling on the M6 be aware there are...

Alton Towers With a Toddler

Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: Not impressed with photographer

...Alton Towers with a Toddler I visited Alton towers yesterday and while this attraction has plenty for both grown ups and children I visited with my toddler son. I first visited Alton towers when I was a child myself and have experienced the big rollercoaster's such as Air and Nemesis but this visit was completely different so thought it would be useful to do a review of a family visit. Opening times The opening times do vary it was the rides were open from ten to five with last monorail back to the car park or hotel at 6pm. The website has a calendar for daily opening times. Cost Adult £37 Child £28. Family of three £83.10 Family of four £104 Family of five £126.50 Family of six £148.80 Disabled/ career £18.50 Children under 4 are free Car parking is £5 There are discounts...

Alton Towers!!

Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: Prices

...Wow...Alton Towers- For those who like that adrenaline Kick! Alton Towers is located in the village of Alton is Staffordshire. It took me 30 minutes to get there and I live in Stafford. I know lots of people come from all over the place to visit Alton Towers which explains just how good it is. There is plenty of rides, shops, events and food places here and it keeps us all entertained. The Best of the Rides... Oblivion- This is one of the most thrilling rides and I would not look down at the top as you are seated at the top of a huge drop! Rita- Also known as the queen of speed. This says it all to be honest, it reaches 0-100km/ph in 2.5 seconds!! Air- This ride is exhilarating as it tilts you on your front and you feel as if you are flying! Nemesis- This ride has been around for quite a while now and it takes you...

Alton Towers!!

Advantages: Fun day out, great rides.
Disadvantages: Pricey, lots of walking.

...I thought I'd do a review of Alton Towers because it will give me a lot to write about and I went there quite recently for the first time and enjoyed it very much. I haven't written in this kind of category before and only now do I see how much there actually is to write, so here goes: Alton Towers Theme Park is the most famous theme park which has been successfully running since 1980. The park is set high in the hills of Alton in Staffordshire and it is so well hidden amongst the trees that if the queues and queues of cars within a few miles of the place weren't there you'd never notice it! The theme park is expanding and has increased vastly since it's opening in 1980. The buying up of the theme park has caused more and more money to be put into the park which is only good for thrill seekers! The amount of new rides is increasing...

Alton Towers Theme Park

Advantages: Great rides, great selection of restaurants, great for all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive, huge queues, very large park (lots of walking!)

...After visting Alton Towers with my partner recently, I have mixed views about the park, so thought my impartial views would probably be helpful for writing a hopefully useful and constructive review! Getting To The Park Once you're near Alton Towers, it is well sign posted from all directions. We turned our SatNav off once we saw the first sign, as it was so well sign posted we no longer needed to be told by the SatNav which way to go. Parking There is a HUGE car park - remember where you parked by seeing the letter reference (e.g. car park area A, B, C, D etc) before you leave your car, as it might be helpful on your way out! "There is a £5 car parking fee which you can pay at the car parking machines either on your way in or on your way out". I thought the car parking fee was ridiculous. It's not a public car...

Alton Towers

Advantages: Its so fun
Disadvantages: If youve got kids it can be hard to find a good time to go

...Im writing this review because todays Sunday, and on Tuesday Im going to Alton Towers for the third time in the space of a year and I cant wait so Ive got to keep myself busy or I might just go round the bend! When you get older life seems to lose its fun and excitment in place of responsibility and hard work, so I love feeling so excited about going. Its wonderful that something so simple and childish can give you such a massive rush. Firstly Id like to clear something up. Alton Towers gets negative reviews by annoyed parents who have to go only at peak times because of school. Alton towers is open to the public from March until October. Most people tend to go on bank holidays, half term and the summer holidays. Obviously these are the busiest times and therefore are the most expensive. My ticket for Tuesday is considered off peak...

Alton Towers, Park Of Laughs & Screams!

Advantages: Screamathon, Fast, Thilling
Disadvantages: Expensive, Pay for Parking

...Alton Towers, one of the United Kingdom's top theme parks, part of the Tussauds franchise is the number one attraction for thrill seekers up and down the country. I went for the 2nd time last week and loved it. The Journey & Park Location Alton Towers is situated in Alton, Staffordshire and is very easy to get too. My first visit to the theme park was when I was in year 10 at school and all I could remember of the journey was the very small windy lanes leading from the village to the park. All I could remember thinking was "what if a double-decker bus comes round the corner!" Thankfully one didn't and I lived to tell the tale. On this trip I was cautious of the lanes as it was the first time I had driven in the area. I need not have worried I found the trip hassle-free and the location easy to find with my auto route...

Review of Tussauds - Alton Towers

Alton Towers is the best big kids' playground!

Advantages: Amazing rides and great location
Disadvantages: Queues can be a pain, but are to be expected!

...I've been to Alton Towers now a couple of times, and both times I have had absolutely brilliant days out! The last time I visitied was a trip for my 21st birthday in June this year with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend. We stayed at the hotel the night before and arrived at the park on the monorail service from the hotel into the park. The monorail is an excellent service for hotel guests and those using the car parks - it is very frequent and takes you right into the park. We had already bought our tickets at the hotel to beat the queues (which were non-existent when we arrived). We paid £17.50 each with bogof vouchers (there are often offers to be had on Alton Towers entry, it's really never worth paying full price). After scanning our tickets we walked straight into the park to take advantage of the early ride time our...

Alton Towers, fun, thrills, but take a picnic!

Advantages: Fun For all, loads to do
Disadvantages: expensive food, nothing to do in bad weather

...I have been to Alton Towers twice now with my other half, as part of a coach tour from Dundee. I will be reviewing the full experience of the theme park, and will review the other aspects of the package seperately. Now we paid £100 each for this trip, 2 days tickets, travel, and one night in a hotel in Derby, therefore, the price was not too bad if you divide it all up. The first time we visited last year, it rained all day on the saturday, and I mean rained. Everyone was walking round like gigantic blueberries in those ponchos that you get. I was wearing jeans that first time, and I would not recommend it, espescially if it ends up raining. The second time we went, I wore lightweight cargo trousers, so that they would dry off quicker. Theres nothing worse than sitting on a coach for 8 hours with wet jeans on!! The main...

Alton Towers

Advantages: Fun day out
Disadvantages: a little pricy

...Alton Towers is a fantastic day out for thrill seekers, it is quite expensive but you can get good discounts from the website. There is a variety of rides, and I went in the height of season and for some reason there was hardly any queues, not even on Air or Oblivion. Make sure you either take a clean set of clothes or go on a sunny day, as a few rides you do get wet on but its so fun. I had to keep my eyes closed on the oblivion as I am a little scared of rides, but love them too. Things are a little pricey, like the gift shop and burger bars but I guess that is like any theme park or ammusement park but I highly recommend going....
