Alton Towers- What a day
Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time
..., etc. All at fairly good prices and if you're buying a few then mind and haggle with the vendor too. We did and got a good deal.
When it's time for you to leave I shall recommend you pop in to the wee shop on the right hand side just before the main exit. There are many fantastic bargains in there. I bought by daughter a 6 pack of little figures (rides) and it was only £2.50.
Anything else
This review has covered most of what I done at Alton Towers, but please visit there website for more information with regards to the magical Hotel available on site and also the water park side of things. As I did not stay at the hotel or use the water park I feel it inappropriate for me to comment.
Oh! Before I forget there are plenty of toilet facilities around the park and all the ones I used where very clean.
Any staff I dealt...

Alton Towers With a Toddler
Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: Not impressed with photographer
...Alton Towers with a Toddler
I visited Alton towers yesterday and while this attraction has plenty for both grown ups and children I visited with my toddler son. I first visited Alton towers when I was a child myself and have experienced the big rollercoaster's such as Air and Nemesis but this visit was completely different so thought it would be useful to do a review of a family visit.

Alton Towers!!
Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: Prices
...over rivers of blood and rock, reaching G-forces greater than a space shuttle launch!
This is very few of the great rides at Alton Towers, but there are also other things you can do there. If you are the type of person that likes to explore, you could have a look around the lovely well kept gardens! Not to be done in the dark...can be quite scary. My boyfriend told me 'This is a quick way'. We ended up lost and I have never been so scared...
Alton Towers also hosts lots of events. Halloween being my favourite. It is open from 20th March 2010, for another fantastic year!
It is in a great location which is really pictureque and there is a water park nearby named 'Splash Landings' which is meant to be great fun. Also, there is the Alton Towers hotel with a selection of themed rooms! This is great for a weekend away. There is lots to...

alton towers and alton towers hotel
Advantages: The best day out staying within the UK
Disadvantages: que times and travel distance for most
...Having just returned from my trip to Alton Towers and my stay at the amazing hotel i feel that the hotel itself should have a review. In one word it's AMAZING!It really is worth the money you pay to stay and depending on which room you opt for isnt as costly as one first expects, and has many advantages for people wishing to visit the park.I had visited many sites to try and find accurate details on the hotel such as cost and rooms but none were accurate, prices had hundreds added on!Knowing how hard it is to find info on the hotel i will tell u all i know to date. ......ROOMS...(details taken from 2002 brochure)
GARDEN ROOMS....everything's coming up roses in these charming rooms.Theres trellis wallpaper and watering can lamps, all topped with straw hat shades! These family rooms have...

Alton Towers Theme Park
Advantages: Great rides, great selection of restaurants, great for all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive, huge queues, very large park (lots of walking!)
...device! Use these to travel from one end of the park to another (to save on lots of walking, especially for young children and parents with pushchairs or disabled visitors). I suppose it's nice to see a bird's eye view of the park! For that reason, a "7/10." If I were rating it as a ride, as Alton Towers call it, I'd have to rate it a "2/10", seeing as doesn't go fast or have any exciting element to it!
Other Rides For Children
I felt I couldn't give honest reviews for these rides purely for the fact I'm an adult and therefore didn't use these rides (clearly)! However, I must say Alton Towers caters well for children. There are many, many rides catered for them, with playgrounds and designated park areas. Visit the link to see the page for them: http://www.altontowers.com/theme-park/magic-young-fun/ I would imagine the queues aren...

Alton Towers
Advantages: Its so fun
Disadvantages: If youve got kids it can be hard to find a good time to go
...and cost £15, this is cheap compared to the £27 adult peak time rate.
The theme park website gives details of opening times, prices, peak, standard and off peak times, online booking, hotel reservations. Actually the website tells you just about everything you could possibly need to know. Check it out at 111.alton-towers.co.uk
Heres a little directional information for all you Ciaoers that dont live just down the road from it!
Alton towers is in Alton, Staffordshire, not far from Stoke on Trent. It is 161 miles from London, 46 miles from Birmingham, 47 miles from Manchester, 204 miles from Portsmouth, 141 miles from Bristol and 255 miles from all of you lovely people in Glasgow.
For motorway and train information check out the website. And if youre planning on getting directions from a site like mapquest or multimap please be sure to...

Splash Landings Hotel, Alton Towers
Advantages: Good fun hotel, good service and decent rooms
Disadvantages: Poor food
...I've stayed at the Splash Landings Hotel in the Alton Towers park a couple of times now, and each time have had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is not without some flaws but overall my experiences have been good.
Firstly I will say I get the rooms in the hotel cheap through my staff discount, and pay £80 a night for 2 people to go bed and breakfast. This is good value to me as the convenience of being near the park and the early ride time makes it well worth the money. However, I'm not sure I would ever pay the full rather extotionate rate they charge without the discount, which is over £200 per room per night.
So, the hotel itself. First impressions were good - the reception area is massive and the Caribbean theme is fun. The check-in service is efficient and although there is often a queue I didn't wait long. The staff are well...

Alton Towers, Park Of Laughs & Screams!
Advantages: Screamathon, Fast, Thilling
Disadvantages: Expensive, Pay for Parking
.... Based on a 50/50 split of adults to children (unlikely but useful as an example) they would make £416,500 in adult £29.75 ticket sales per day alone and £309,400 in child tickets costing £22.10.
I believe on the figures I can find, that the Carpark can cater for 29,000 cars at any given time. Based on £4 per car that's £116,000 per day on car parking fees alone. I wasn't happy but it wasn't until I had enjoyed my day out that I saw the cost of the parking! The only thing which topped it was the additional Toll road fee I had to pay on the way back!
I would recommend Alton Towers for a day out or a weekend trip, I loved it. The company and name also offers a Water park, Spa and Golf, however entry to these is different and they are separate attractions. There is also a Hotel on site with access to all their venues.

Review of Tussauds - Alton Towers

Alton Towers is the best big kids' playground!
Advantages: Amazing rides and great location
Disadvantages: Queues can be a pain, but are to be expected!
...I've been to Alton Towers now a couple of times, and both times I have had absolutely brilliant days out! The last time I visitied was a trip for my 21st birthday in June this year with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend. We stayed at the hotel the night before and arrived at the park on the monorail service from the hotel into the park. The monorail is an excellent service for hotel guests and those using the car parks - it is very frequent and takes you right into the park.
We had already bought our tickets at the hotel to beat the queues (which were non-existent when we arrived). We paid £17.50 each with bogof vouchers (there are often offers to be had on Alton Towers entry, it's really never worth paying full price).
After scanning our tickets we walked straight into the park to take advantage of the early ride time our...
