Alton Towers With a Toddler

Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: Not impressed with photographer

...Alton Towers with a Toddler I visited Alton towers yesterday and while this attraction has plenty for both grown ups and children I visited with my toddler son. I first visited Alton towers when I was a child myself and have experienced the big rollercoaster's such as Air and Nemesis but this visit was completely different so thought it would be useful to do a review of a family visit. Opening times The opening times do vary it was the rides were open from ten to five with last monorail back to the car park or hotel at 6pm. The website has a calendar for daily opening times. Cost Adult £37 Child £28. Family of three £83.10 Family of four £104 Family of five £126.50 Family of six £148.80 Disabled/ career £18.50 Children under 4 are free Car parking is £5 There are discounts...

Alton Towers- What a day

Advantages: All in one place, Fantastic grounds, Helpful Staff
Disadvantages: Really just the Q time

..., etc. All at fairly good prices and if you're buying a few then mind and haggle with the vendor too. We did and got a good deal. When it's time for you to leave I shall recommend you pop in to the wee shop on the right hand side just before the main exit. There are many fantastic bargains in there. I bought by daughter a 6 pack of little figures (rides) and it was only £2.50. Anything else This review has covered most of what I done at Alton Towers, but please visit there website for more information with regards to the magical Hotel available on site and also the water park side of things. As I did not stay at the hotel or use the water park I feel it inappropriate for me to comment. Oh! Before I forget there are plenty of toilet facilities around the park and all the ones I used where very clean. Any staff I dealt...

Alton Towers!!

Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: Prices

...over rivers of blood and rock, reaching G-forces greater than a space shuttle launch! This is very few of the great rides at Alton Towers, but there are also other things you can do there. If you are the type of person that likes to explore, you could have a look around the lovely well kept gardens! Not to be done in the dark...can be quite scary. My boyfriend told me 'This is a quick way'. We ended up lost and I have never been so scared... Alton Towers also hosts lots of events. Halloween being my favourite. It is open from 20th March 2010, for another fantastic year! It is in a great location which is really pictureque and there is a water park nearby named 'Splash Landings' which is meant to be great fun. Also, there is the Alton Towers hotel with a selection of themed rooms! This is great for a weekend away. There is lots to...

alton towers and alton towers hotel

Advantages: The best day out staying within the UK
Disadvantages: que times and travel distance for most

...Having just returned from my trip to Alton Towers and my stay at the amazing hotel i feel that the hotel itself should have a review. In one word it's AMAZING!It really is worth the money you pay to stay and depending on which room you opt for isnt as costly as one first expects, and has many advantages for people wishing to visit the park.I had visited many sites to try and find accurate details on the hotel such as cost and rooms but none were accurate, prices had hundreds added on!Knowing how hard it is to find info on the hotel i will tell u all i know to date. ......ROOMS...(details taken from 2002 brochure) GARDEN ROOMS....everything's coming up roses in these charming rooms.Theres trellis wallpaper and watering can lamps, all topped with straw hat shades! These family rooms have...

Alton Towers!!

Advantages: Fun day out, great rides.
Disadvantages: Pricey, lots of walking.

...etc. have their own gift shop where after riding on them you can take a look at your picture which was taken at some point around the ride. These offer quite a bit of amusement afterwards and if you feel the need to buy it as a souvenir you have quite a few options. The picture can be framed or put onto a mug, a keyring or even a t-shirt! I wouldn't let children too near these or they'll want them all for every ride! The basic pictures come for about £6 and it's only upwards from there. If you buy multiple copies the average cost goes down. |:| Hotels |:| If you have travelled quite a long way then you might want to take a look at the hotel facilities that are available. Not only now is the Alton Towers Hotel available for close access to the park but now the Splash Landings Hotel which has a massive waterpark at the back which I...

Alton Towers Theme Park

Advantages: Great rides, great selection of restaurants, great for all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive, huge queues, very large park (lots of walking!)

... * A one day pass for an adult on the day is £36. If you buy a TWO day pass for an adult ONLINE, it's £36. Why not get a two day pass and find a hotel to stay over for the night? It doesn't have to be Alton Towers Hotel - there were loads of B&Bs and Caravan Parks around the area. Well worth it! * Another tip is to make sure if there are 10 or more of you then get a GROUP pass. It's £24 each (you must book online), but it will save you money. * Visit Martin Lewis' MoneySavingExpert website for money off vouchers. I have seen loads around - from WHSmiths to The Sun newspaper giving away 2 for 1 offers for Alton Towers (and other theme parks). If you're feeling the bite of the credit crunch but want a day out, it's worth trying to save your cash. * If you visit Alton Towers more than twice a year, get an ANNUAL PASS. An adult annual pass is...

Alton Towers

Advantages: Its so fun
Disadvantages: If youve got kids it can be hard to find a good time to go

...for all age groups or all kinds of party. Some places are family friendly, some arent suitable for very young tots. Alton Towers has done its utmost to cater for every person, so that everybody can have a good time when they go. They even have themed rooms in the hotel with as much Coke and Cadbury chocolate as you can manage!! Thanks for reading!! Nat :o) Please Note that the average waiting time for rides as stated below is on a busy day. Depending on when you go during the year and time time of day that you go for certain rides queue lengths can vary wildly. It is advised that you try to arrive at the park by opening time as the park is opened early for guests at the hotels, and when you arrive you should try and go for the scariest rides first as they have the shortest queues in the mornings....

Splash Landings Hotel, Alton Towers

Advantages: Good fun hotel, good service and decent rooms
Disadvantages: Poor food

...I've stayed at the Splash Landings Hotel in the Alton Towers park a couple of times now, and each time have had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is not without some flaws but overall my experiences have been good. Firstly I will say I get the rooms in the hotel cheap through my staff discount, and pay £80 a night for 2 people to go bed and breakfast. This is good value to me as the convenience of being near the park and the early ride time makes it well worth the money. However, I'm not sure I would ever pay the full rather extotionate rate they charge without the discount, which is over £200 per room per night. So, the hotel itself. First impressions were good - the reception area is massive and the Caribbean theme is fun. The check-in service is efficient and although there is often a queue I didn't wait long. The staff are well...

Review of Splash Landings Hotel, Alton

Alton Towers, Park Of Laughs & Screams!

Advantages: Screamathon, Fast, Thilling
Disadvantages: Expensive, Pay for Parking

.... Based on a 50/50 split of adults to children (unlikely but useful as an example) they would make £416,500 in adult £29.75 ticket sales per day alone and £309,400 in child tickets costing £22.10. I believe on the figures I can find, that the Carpark can cater for 29,000 cars at any given time. Based on £4 per car that's £116,000 per day on car parking fees alone. I wasn't happy but it wasn't until I had enjoyed my day out that I saw the cost of the parking! The only thing which topped it was the additional Toll road fee I had to pay on the way back! I would recommend Alton Towers for a day out or a weekend trip, I loved it. The company and name also offers a Water park, Spa and Golf, however entry to these is different and they are separate attractions. There is also a Hotel on site with access to all their venues. http://www.altontowers.com/pages/home...

Review of Tussauds - Alton Towers

Alton Towers is the best big kids' playground!

Advantages: Amazing rides and great location
Disadvantages: Queues can be a pain, but are to be expected!

...I've been to Alton Towers now a couple of times, and both times I have had absolutely brilliant days out! The last time I visitied was a trip for my 21st birthday in June this year with my boyfriend, sister and her boyfriend. We stayed at the hotel the night before and arrived at the park on the monorail service from the hotel into the park. The monorail is an excellent service for hotel guests and those using the car parks - it is very frequent and takes you right into the park. We had already bought our tickets at the hotel to beat the queues (which were non-existent when we arrived). We paid £17.50 each with bogof vouchers (there are often offers to be had on Alton Towers entry, it's really never worth paying full price). After scanning our tickets we walked straight into the park to take advantage of the early ride time our...
