I have also stayed here too so I thought I would give readers some information on as many aspects of the hotel as I possibly can! It is literally round the corner from the main shopping street (george street) and is only 15 minutes away from Manchester city centre and 10 minutes from manchester airport. Back to basics!

Advantages: It has buses and trams in one place
Disadvantages: Not many at allfacilities

...I have lived in Manchester all my life - right near Manchester Airport and so obviously the surrounding areas are somewhere that I have frequented quite often! One place that I have been to many times is Altrincham. Literally minutes away down the country lanes from myself and the airport and a 20-25 minute bus ride away down the main roads. I have to be honest and Say that now that I can drive I don't often use the local transport as often and it tends to only be when I need to with no other option available! I did use the Altrincham bus station a lot more when I was younger and actually working in Altrincham but, to be fair there isn't much difference nowadays from nearly 7 years ago! No longer in the skies, but still high up in my estimation

Advantages: Interesting for all ages, indoors, accessible for all knowledge levels
Disadvantages: Not suitable for those with mobility issues, can book up quickly

You are shown up the length of the aircraft, with the rear 60 seats reserved for licensed weddings and during the walk your attention is also drawn to some of the "famous seats" where personalities such as the late Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton & Her Majesty the Queen have sat. They couldn't provide a courtesy car, so I arranged to take my car in two weeks later and leave it with them for two and half weeks while I was on holiday. Initially I was told the body work and replacement fog light would take 1 week. I was promised that the car would be finished for the day I got back off holiday. While on holiday various messages where left on my home phone asking about different parts of the work, does it need to be done, when this was all agreed before I went away on holiday and booked the car in. Behind the counter they have a vast array of aftershaves and fragrances for both male and females. Me being me I find this very dangerous as I always end up making impulse purchases. Last Tuesday was no exception. Instead of making the standard purchases I opted to buy three new fragrances that I had never heard of, nor smelt basically on the word of the woman serving behind the counter. ...The current network in Manchester runs to Altrincham, Bury and Eccles. In the city there is a spur to Piccadilly Station. The platforms are reasonably spacious, all have disabled access, and a ticket machine. There are random spot checks on the trams, and a £20 fine if you are caught without a ticket, so buying a ticket prior to boarding is essential. In theory the trams run every six minutes to Altrincham and Bury, and every twelve minutes to Eccles. In practice for a variety of reasons, the trams very rarely run as frequently as they should, often leaving 24 minute gaps on the Eccles line, and running in bunches to both Altrincham and Bury. Gross overcrowding often results causing passengers to be left behind. Particularly in the commuter periods, there are too many people travelling for the very limited capacity trams. Purely...

The layout and style of the pub is very good, it was large and airy and not too busy. The drinks were fairly expensive for the sort of place we were in and there were no good offers on. The food menu looked really nice and I was very impressed until I got my food. The waiter was rude and uninterested and the food was disappointing. I had ordered a BLT on ciabatta bread. ...I had my car in at ATS in Altrincham for a shock absorber, being the only place that could it, as the other usual chain garages refused to quote for it for some reason (BMW Z3 2.8) . Initial thoughts were that the place looked generally derelict, I turned up early and spoke to an uncheery person to be told that the garage opened up at 8.30am not 8.00am. Anyway they did the work and on payment I asked the man I if they had taken it for a test drive - I always ask this if the wheels have been off. He said yes. This is strange because I had reset the odometer before dropping off the car. Now unless the test driver had reset the odometer then it hadn't been for a test drive. Why would he reset the odometer?
