...Made by good old ICI. Dulux was founded in 1931. The paint was originally developed to give the impression of polished stainless steel. 1 litre will cover up to 18 square meters, depending on the surface. This paint is thin, so will soak in easily. It does not dry to a hard wearing finish, so allow for it to be touched up - ooooh err Missus! Solvent based, so brush cleaning has to be done with turpentine substitute. This paint actually does contain slivers of aluminium. The only colour is of course aluminium. Apply by brush, although small areas can be done with a rag. Either way, I would recommend surgical gloves, Tins are metal, none of those useless plastic ones. Sizes of tins are 5 litre, 2.5 litre. and one litre. Other manufacturers make smaller tins. ...The Aluminium Plant is a fairly common House Plant although many people that are familiar with this Plant will probably not recognise it from its name. I have had one of these Plants sat on my Kitchen Windowsill for the past couple of years, but I only recently discovered exactly what it was. These Plants are native to Vietnam but can be grown indoors in the UK without too much tender loving care. They are grown because of their attractive foliage. The leaves are long and elongated, they are dark-green with a shiny, glossy appearance, but their most striking feature is that these leaves are covered in silver blotches and streaks. It is these silver markings, that resemble Aluminium, from where the Plant derives its common English name. It's Latin or Botanical name is Pilea cadierei. ...After having our garden landscaped 2 years ago, including more decking than you could shake a stick at, we decided that our old, white plastic garden furniture just didn't match anymore. After much deliberation, we decided on aluminium furniture and scoured all the local outlets. We settled for a hexagonal table, with a bronze coloured aluminim frame and a frosted glass top. The top had a hole in the middle to take the cream coloured wind-up parasol. The six aluminim framed chairs had a sort of plastic coated wire mesh as a seat, which was light and practical, and dried out within minutes after a shower of rain. It cost a total of £500 for the lot, including 2 matching sun loungers. The whole suite looked excellent, and was very easy to keep clean - just a wipe with a damp cloth. The pulp is excellent for composting because it is reduced to very fine matter that can be broken down very easily. The whole item is generally easy to clean and is stable when in use. Waste container is easy to empty and collection jug is easy to clean too. The aluminium finish is very chic, looking good in your kitchen. I particularly like the rubber sucker feet on the juicer, these prevent the juicer sliding on your work top. I have fitted many different types of aluminium loft ladders such as concertina and 2 section ladders. I fitted the Youngman 3 section ladder to my own house for the following reasons: It was compact enough using up only 0.8m floor space when in a stowed position. The model I purchased had an adjustable handrail that extended well into the loft at its highest setting. This offers great security and stability for the user when getting back onto the ladder from inside loft. In circumstances where the optimum handrail setting was restricted due to in-loft clearance the handrail also offered great security and grip when adjusted to the lower setting on the ladder.
