The Amalfi Coast -----Is this the best scenic route in Europe???
Advantages: Breathtakingly beautiful.
Disadvantages: The road is not one for the feint of heart
...THE AMALFI COAST
One of my most memorable holidays was the two weeks I spent in the Bay of Naples. We fitted so much in to the 14 days we were there, it was an incredible holiday.
We visited the fantastic Pompeii ( a must do experience worthy of a review of its own), we climbed to the top of Vesuvius, we visited Herculaneum, Capri, Sorrento, Naples and had an incredible couch journey around the Amalfi Coast.
It is the Amalfi Coast that I am going to write this review about because it really is a spectacular part of the world - absolutley stunning, in fact the Amalfi Coast is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The scenery along the coast makes you feel as if you are in the middle of a holiday post card - it does literally take your breath away - it is, from what I have seen, the most spectacular road in...

A walk above the shores
Advantages: Spectacular coastline, with attractive towns and good walking
Disadvantages: A tourist trap, albeit a superior one
...Updating my review of Inntravel, as I have just done, reminds me of the Amalfi Coast. Or, more specifically, of a walking holiday that my wife and I took there a few years ago, organised by that company, which may serve as an example both their holidays and of the attractions of the area itself. It is not a destination we would normally have chosen for walking, an activity best enjoyed in mountain areas far from the madding crowd. The Amalfi Coast, although commendably hilly, is populous and has been a holiday resort since Roman times.
On this occasion, though, business and family commitments constricted us to early April, so we sought somewhere southerly, not too high up and with other things to do besides walking if the weather proved adverse. In the event, we coincided with a freak cold spell and were even snowed...

A taste of the Amalfi Coast in Thurrock
Advantages: good variety of dishes
Disadvantages: waiting time
...Food
Mamma Amalfi is an Italian themed restaurant, similar to the likes of Bella Pasta. It is an ideal place to have a meal with a group of people as there is so much variety in the menu there is bound to be something to please everyone.
There is a good range of seafood, vegetarian and meat dishes, which is great as I can take my non meat eating friends there without feeling guilty that they have only one option on the menu.
There are also quite a few dishes that are not either pizza or pasta so even those who dont particularly fancy an Italian should find something they like.
I am not an expert on Italian Cuisine and have no idea whether this is at all like authentic Italian food but I really enjoy the rich and flavourful sauces of their pasta dishes, and have had some of my best pasta dishes there.
Price
I think the food...

The Italian Job
Advantages: The most beautiful place in the world?
Disadvantages: You're going to have to wade through this novel to find out why
...Once upon a time I was very much in love with an Italian, who was very bad for me. He was nearly twice my age, didn't work but raced and wrote about Italian cars. He lived in England but visited Italy often. One spring he needed to go over to Italy to retrieve some money from a small Italian bank that was refusing / ignoring requests to transfer funds to the UK. He invited me to come with him and tour the Amalfi coast at the same time.
We flew to Naples (you can fly BA, Alitalia, Lufthansa, Swissair, Iberia, AirFrance, BMI, Easyjet - the list is endless) and picked up a hire car. If you do the same, lock your boot - a favourite way to rip off tourists at the moment is to bang another car into a hire car (conspicuous by being the only cars on the road without bumps and dents) while an accomplice steals the bags out of the boot while...

I love Coast!!
Advantages: Gorgeous design, clothes that last and last, clothes that make you feel special
Disadvantages: Price
...Intro
Coast is my favourite shop in the world. The prices are such that I am unable to pop in and buy something every week (until I win the lottery that is!) . That aside I would rather save up for something special from Coast rather than go to the cheap shops I normally frequent all the time. The quality of the material is gorgeous, you always feel special in a Coast outfit and I love the design of nearly everything in the shop! You will also see below how everyone can afford something in Coast if they go there in the sales. Incidentally the stores are dotted all over Britian and there is nearly always one in your Debenhams, House of Fraser or Beatties.
The Clothes
The clothes are all of gorgeous quality, a lot of them being 100% silk. They have the classic strapless dresses (come with optional straps) which are timeless...

Ferry Across The Solent!
Advantages: Reliable and quick.
Disadvantages: The price is a variant!
...To get to the Isle of Wight there is only one way..... by boat. There is no tunnel or bridge so everyone has to get a boat or if taking a car then the only option is by ferry. The other half and I decided to spend a three night break on the island, and although the island itself is a great place to relax and unwind, I did kind of feel that the ferry companies were getting the last laugh on us.
About three weeks before the trip, when the Isle of Wight was chosen as the destination for our break, we looked up all options for taking a car across the water. We could travel from Southampton or Lymington using the Red Funnel or using Wightlink from Portsmouth. Although this was more than Red Funnel in cost of the ticket it was far more convenient for us to travel from Portsmouth than to have to drive a further 20 miles to Southampton to...

Coast to Coast
Advantages: Some fantastic tracks
Disadvantages: Some not so good tracks
...Shane, Bryan, Kian, Nicky and Mark. They were signed by Simon Cowell and are currently managed by Louis Walsh. Since their formation the bands music has greatly evolved and moved from teen pop to contempary adult music. In 2004 Bryan left the band to work on solo projects but despite rumours the rest of the band carried on performing and are still performing today. Together the boys have released - albums, sold more than 40 million records worldwide and gained 14 number one singles in the UK Their albums are; Westlife, Coast to Coast, World of Our Own, Unbreakable, Turnaround, Allow us to be Frank, Face to Face, The Love Album, and Back Home. It is their second and 5x platinum album Coast to Coast, which was released in 2000, which I will today be reviewing.

Ferris Holidays Review
Advantages: Cheap. Affordable.
Disadvantages: Journey - but you get what you pay for.
...Ferris Holidays are a coach holiday company who specialise, mainly, travelling down to the southern coast of Spain. The Costa Brava. If you are looking for a cheap 5 star hotel holiday deal, you've come to the wrong place. But Ferris Holidays do offer the cheapest enjoyable holidays you can find. Believe me.
Ferris Holidays have a fleet of today-modern coaches which the option of Platinum or normal-Executive. With the Platinum travel you have to pay £15 extra per person but it's well worth the money as the extra leg room and extra reclining seats cater well for sleeping. No, the seats don't recline 90 degrees as a posed to a normal bed but they do recline enough.
There are toilet facilities on board the coach but due to lack of service stops allowing drivers to empty the toilet, drivers ask passengers to take full advantage...

Ferry of success
Advantages: good value for money, clean easy to book and relaxing atmosphere
Disadvantages: i cant think of any
...Norfolk Ferries
This is the first time i have used Norfolk Ferries as previously i have only used P&O ferries from Dover to Calais but in this occasion i was going from Dover to Dunkerque, 2 hours long. Norfolk as i know have been around for about 4 years and we came across them online as the cheapest deal. The website was really easy to use and we booked the same morning as our trip. I thought the price of £40 for a return trip journey for 2 people and a car was pretty good. Well condsidering prices of other ways eg- Euro Tunnel this was a cheap opition.
We decided to travel in the early hours of the morning as this was cheaper and the roads on each side would be less busy. On or way their we caught the 2am Ferry and the way back it was the midnight ferry. There were not many people thereforth catching the same as we did...

Sorrento Pompeii and Amalfi Coast
Advantages: ideal for non flyers wishing to travel to the warmer climate of the med.
Disadvantages: NOT A TRIP FOR CHILDREN WHO WILL GET RESTLESS ON A LONG COACH JOURNEY
...August 2007 Holiday with WA Shearings to Sorrento and Amalfi Coast
Italy. Using the Grand Tourer Service. August 2007.
Decided on this type of holiday as my wife had taken a dislike to flying!
This seemed the best option of a holiday abroad, in the sun.
This particular tour offered a 6 night stay at a resort (SORRENTO)
Others are based on a total Touring option.
Organisation.
Our Holiday began at our chosen pick up point where my wife and I were collected by a Feeder Vehicle (in this case a people carrier) The timing was exactly as predicted on our itinery. We were picked up and set off on time.
Then to a neighboring town where other passengers were waiting to be collected.
Onwards to a motorway services which served as a central location where other feeder vehicles were arriving.
Once all the feeder services had...
