A short stay at the Perth Ambassador

Advantages: Great Value, close to the CBD
Disadvantages: Lacking in va va voom

...on my first visit here in 2003, so because I was a little familiar with the area thought I'd try and get somewhere close to there. I came across the Perth Ambassador on the Checkin.com.au web site and it caught my eye because it was in my price range, my hotel allowance runs to $150.00 AUD a night or 40 to 80 GBP. This must have been up rated recently as while Ciao states this is a two star hotel it's actually now three and a half stars. It's recently been brought under new management which probably explains it. It's located on Adelaide terrace which is close to everywhere basically, with the main shopping area a 10 minute walk and the banks of the beautiful Swan River just 3 minutes away on foot, and I have a view of the river from my room which is lovely. I opted for a Corporate Room, which was on special offer, costing $120 AUD...

Ambassador Hotel Review - Bangkok

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Outdated rooms

...a few minutes walk from Nana Sky train. There is a huge variety of shops, restaurants and bars within walkin distance to choose from. When venturing further afield, taxi drivers had no problems finding the hotel (its been there a long time), athough it is always good to carry a card with the hotel name and address in Thai, just in case! The staff were very helpful, although a little busy at times. I checked a day early and only realised my mistake when I arrived at the airport. So rather embarrassed I headed back to the hotel and explained my mistake. The receptionist checked us back in with a big grin on her face! This hotel does provide value for money and I think they are currently updating some of the rooms. Although I think with all the new hotels popping up the Ambassador will need to spend a lot to match them....

A Night At The Ambassador hotel....

Location isn't everything

Advantages: Fantastic location, you're never far away from anything. Cheap.
Disadvantages: Rude staff, rooms in a state, out of date amenities, broken equipment.

..., and there were no toiletries either. VALUE FOR MONEY Yes, £70 is cheap. But you could stay in a Travelodge for roughly the same price (or even cheaper if you book in advance), and Travelodge are much, much better. OVERALL So yes, I did not enjoy my time at the Ambassador. It may only have been for a quick overnighter but I assume people do use the hotel for long periods and if all the rooms were like mine then the conditions are insufferable. Only stay here if you can't walk long distances or if you really, really don't want to use public transport to get to a hotel elsewhere. It's only its convenient location that saves this hotel from being the worst I've ever stayed at....

Great food and cocktails

Disadvantages: Not many. Had to wait a short while for a table.

...After a day at the London Metropolitan Archives I wandered down Exmouth Market and found The Ambassador Restaurant I was drawn in because it looked buzzy. The food was great. A first I thought the portions were a little small, - but believe me they had got it right. I had fresh fish and then chocolate pudding! It must have been made then and there and oozed chocolate and arrived with in house ice cream. I was impressed by the friendly staff especially at the bar. If you go you must try the rhubarb sherbet cocktail, created by the lovely Bar Manager! Also the toilets were spotless. How many times times have I been to a nice restaurant and then felt the loos had been neglected! In my opinion, it was good value for money and have decided to return there with friends in the near future....

Ambassadorial Elegance

Advantages: Refurbished rooms are clean, modern and comfortable - at good rates online

...I don't seem to stay in London so much these days. It's partly because for meetings and such like, most people are now reluctant to travel to the capital for one reason or another. When I do have such a trip, I like to try different hotels from the usual Holiday Inns, Thistles and Novotels. Variety is the spice and all that. There are some good deals to be had out there, particularly at weekends. For a Monday meeting, train fare and hotel on the Sunday work out far cheaper than peak travel on the Monday morning and you get to try out a shiny new hotel. Winner! Getting There Ambassador's at Bloomsbury is located on Upper Woburn Place smack opposite London Euston railway station. It is literally just two or three minutes walk from the station. As such, with King's Cross and St Pancras not much further along, it is extremely well...

Get away from it all

...and hair washes. If you rely totally on your wheelchair and are unable to take any steps then this is not suitable for you, which is a shame as I highly recommend it. The Southport area though is fairly flat and wheelchair friendly mainly. IN SOUTHPORT Southport has a vast array of shops and the Ambassador is set perfectly for ALL amenities. At the end of the road you have a street with amusement arcades, restaurants etc on, turn right and the same road will take you to the pier within seconds. There are a couple of supermarkets that I recall Morrison's and Sainsbury's. There are loads of other shops all within easy walking distance of the hotel. our stay

Advantages: good rooms

...We spent New Year in Prague 2007-2008 and what a wonderful city. The Ambassador hotel was good in some ways and not in others. Our room was very generous and like a suite although we did not book one.It was in good condition ,comfortable and cleaned very well with all modern fittings in the ensuite. We only ate dinner on 1 night in the hotelas it was all Czech food and the breakfasts were average .Being on Wenceslas square there was plenty of eating places . we found the Paris Hotel whose Sunday Lunch was OUT OF THIS WORLD and one of the best we ever had . We booked the NEW YEARS PARTY at The Ambassador which was a mistake as it was expensive and not worth the money by any stretch of the imagination. Prague is a wonderful city great architecture ,music and culture would go again but to a different hotel...

I left my heart in Capri

...We had hoped to go to Sardinia, but that was out of our price range. Italy has always been a favourite so when we found we could afford go to Capri we were really excited. The Hotel Weber Ambassador were really helpful from start to finish. We booked direct through their website which saved money on the Expedia listed price, though I think it would depend whether you were going high season or not. Originally we were a little apprehensive having read the mixed reviews on trip advisor, but being of the disposition that a holiday is what you make it we packed ourselves off and flew into Naples.
