Amcor not to hot to handle
Review of Amcor RAM007 by
crhawk100
Advantages: portable, easy to operate, easy to maintain
Disadvantages: heavy,can be noisy at times,need a window/vent nearby
...I dont know if its an age thing, but the older I get the hotter I get
Thats not a problemi in the winter, but come the summer and living in a terraced house with a south facing garden, add an immersion heater into the equasion and you can understand that the temperature in my bedroom made it very uncomfortable.
I has tried a large oscillating fan,all that did was shuffle the warm air and it was noisy.
We recently invested in an Amcor Ram air-conditioner in work
and it immediately impacted on the overall environment
I was so impressed I went out and bought one .It cost about £150
from a local electrical shop.it was,nt on dispaly it had to be ordered.
I waited a week and it was delivered, glad to say two beefy young men brought it ,as its quite a weighty object, about 35 kg.
They took it upstairs and wheeled it into my bedroom...

Amcor HD4E de-humidifier- its great
Review of Amcor - TC100 Dehumidifier by
bobd
Advantages: easy to set up,very efficient
Disadvantages: bulky
...Living in an older house can have many problems, not least condensation and damp.
Our heating bills were going through the roof, downstairs was warm enough during the winter months but upstairs was always cold with condensaton running down the windows every morning.
Last winter we decided to buy a de-humidifier. After shopping around we found the amcor HD4E at argos at around £160.00 and free delivery.
Setting it up was easy, just place it where you intend to use it and leave to settle for 24 hours.
Next day plug it in and switch on.
This model has two fan speeds and a variable humidistat. We ran it on the highest settings for a couple of days to start with and it was extracting an unbelievable 12 litres of water. After the first few days we lowered the settings, within a week the whole house was warmer, we even turned...

DES80 technology too fragile
Review of Amcor DES80ET by
David9m
Advantages: Sleek looking, easy to use design, heated while dehumidifying
Disadvantages: Poor reliability
...I bought my Amcor DES80 in November 2005 to solve a humidity problem in my bathroom where I dried laundry which couldn't go into the tumble dryer.
I chose this design because it used a new technology which allowed use at low temperatures, this is the coldest room in the house, due to using non-condensor technology, whilst also heating the room rather like a fan heater. It was also one of the better looking machines available, being sleek looking unlike the majority of dehumdifiers which manage to look like the back of your fridge! So it was unobtrusive in my bathroom and fit neatly against the wall.
The machine worked excellently for a while (about two months), solving the damp problem, speeding up clothes drying and heating the room nicely, really nice to get out of the shower into a warm room, however it suddenly stopped...

Good value dehumidifier for smaller homes
Review of Amcor QT120 by
kitty1801
Advantages: Works straight away, good for drying clothes, long cable
Disadvantages: bit bulky, water tank slightly awkward to remove & replce
...Our kitchen was suffering from quite a bad damp problem so we decided to invest in a dehumidifier to try and help. Most of the cheaper ones are very small and only collect up to 300ml a day which we did not think would be adequete.
The Amcor one claims to collect up to 12 L/day and cost less than £100 so was the best value one from a reputable company.
As soon as we switched it on the difference was amazing. It regularly collects 3-4 L a day and has cured the damp problem. Bread sitting out has stopped going mouldy and we can get the clothes dried a lot quicker ( now takes overnight instead of 2 days).
The design is a bit basic so if you want something that looks really nice, this probably isn't for you. The system works very well and has a basic dial to set it to the required humidity as well as a button to choose whether you...

THE DEHUMDIFIER.
Review of Amcor AC-705CE by
packerlist
Advantages: CONVINIENCE AND PERFORMS VERY WELL.
Disadvantages: HEAVY TO CARRY.
...This is very good in terms of cooling hot spaces. This is a nice air conditioner that gets the place cool. It cools mostly with water and on the other hand it humidifies.
I get more comfortable with this when in use and I bought this of recent. I think that the best time to use this is during the summer period. My home is very hot because it has less space and packed with properties. I bought this at Amazon and on the other hand cost less to compare to other amcor products.
This holds at about 6 liters of water. This could be used as humidi and to get the best of its cooling, keep on window and it also uses water to cool as it passes over a wet pad.
I enjoy this mostly when I come back from work when it gets hot. It is noisy but not like that.
It is quite heavy to carry but its installation is very easy. The day I fixed...

Good value dehumidifier
Review of Amcor - TC100 Dehumidifier by
andy01
Advantages: Price, performance and convenience.
Disadvantages: Lack of humidistat, bulky/heavy to carry home.
...I recently bought an Amcor TC100 dehumidifier from b&Q. I was attracted to the
product because of the price (only £108). Having purchased it I found it very easy to
set up and use. It's performance was very good - clearing most ofthe damp mustiness
from my flat within 24 hours (extracting over 3 litres of water). Naturally, in a larger home
this would take longer (it is rated for houses with up to 3 bedrooms). The only
drawback is that it does not have a humidistat (adjustable humidity control), but
considering the price this is acceptable. I found the unit quiet and discreet in opperation, and
think it would be ideal for anyone in a smaller home with ventilation problems. One
finial thing - as the unit is quite heavy 16.5kg - it is ot a good idea to take it home on
the bus (although it is possible!)...

Not only does it suck but it blows as well
Review of Amcor AC7000 by
sayitasitis
Advantages: cools down confined spaces, quick to work, small, portable
Disadvantages: noisy and looks tacky
...With summer firlmly on the way and gobal warming continuing at break neck pace this year looks like it is going to be another scorcher and this inevitably means that without my Amcor AC7000 I would spend most evenings stuck to my bedsheets staring wildly and irritably at the ceiling rather than enjoying a good nights sleep.
I decided an air conditioning unit was the best way forward after splashing out £55 on fans that just blew the warm air around my bedroom rather than having a colling effect so when the chance came up to buy the A7000 for only £40 from a friend who had installed a full air conditioning system in his house I jumped at the chance.
Looking at the machine you get the impression that one slight knock and it will fall to pieces and the outer casing is so tacky it really should be hidden away but sadly it does need...
