...I have a nice little Acer Aspire 5520G laptop with this processor, that I bought last December from Tesco Direct. One of my major worries when I bought the laptop was that it had an AMD processor as apposed to an intel processor. AMD is still conpetitive over a range!
Advantages: AMD, going up against mid range core 2 duos has my money!
Disadvantages: It is sad that the press made so much out of the high end winner
...speed difference unless you are a benchmark junkie. It is a shame as the extreme quads are not chaep and are suckering people into whole new systems. Sortry I do not know how I got so off base just to say that I agreed with you as long as you limit your assement as to AMD's current superiortity to a range of CPUs and ties in price.
