Amstel Botel, Amsterdam

Advantages: Location, clean and tidy
Disadvantages: Small rooms, thin walls

...I've just returned from a 3 night stay on the Amstel Botel with a friend - we are very regular visitors to the Dam. The location is fantastic - our main reason for settling on this. Turn left out of the Centraal station, a couple of minutes through the bus bays and you are there. Be careful not to slip if the metal walkway is wet! With trams, the metro, trains and buses all going from the Centraal you can pretty much get to anywhere from here. On arrival we found the receptionist more interested in talking to his female colleagues than checking us in. I don't think we made ourselves too popular asking for more hangers (there were only 2 in the room originally). The night porter is from Cape Verde and much more friendly and helpful. ...This perfume is a must have item in my opinion for any female. I got my last bottle for around £15 from semichem - bargain! It's quite big too, I've had mine for about 5 months and I wear it most days, theres still over a third left in the bottle. Its light and refreshing eau de toilette. It was launched in 2001. It is a light floral fragrance with a blend of flowers and fruit: apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo and white rose. There are so many layers with this frangrance and it has subtle hints of cedarwood, amber and musk. Because it is such a fresh and light scent - it works best in the summer. I long for the sunshine so that I can cover myself in this delightful perfume. When I wear it I always get comments like "what is that gorgeous smell you are wearing?" I was looking for a new smell, and being a perfume label-addict I went to Boots to find out any recommendations. The woman at the counter pointed me in the direction of this. I liked the smell as soon as it was sprayed. It is a sort of clean, fresh, slightly light musky smell, but I think smelly a bit fresh air and cottony as well! The assistant suggested letting the smell settle on my skin and seeing how it smelt after it had faded a bit. Even a few hours later the smell still lingered and many people have commented on the nice smell hours after spraying. You can buy this in 25ml, 50ml and 100ml.
