...The voyages of Captain Dylan Hunt and the crew of the Andromeda Ascendant are continued as they try to re-energise the Andromeda and find their way out of the Seefra system. As with most of the DVD's in the fifth series this box set contains 4 episodes namely E10 to E13, which are seperated onto 2 DVD's. E10 - The Test. This is a bit of a wierd episode as it is told from start to finish as normal, but the character interaction is dealt with by fade in / out as the story moves along. For example, Trance is at the bar and then dylan would fade in, interact and the fade out. The episode basically tells the story of a Paradine who is 'murdered' and all the crew, apart from Doyle are accused of the murder. As the plot moves along and each crew member is accused and cross examined by 'the stranger' who came from the route of ages...

On the Starship Andromeda

Advantages: Ver enjoyable
Disadvantages: Kevin Sorbo was hotter as Hercules

...About fourteen years ago I watched Hercules the Legendary Journeys and fell completely in love with Kevin Sorbo. Ten years later I switch the television on and see that he has a new television show that my house mates immediately turn over because they're too cool to watch sci-fi (even though I did catch them watching Star Trek once). That new television show was of course Andromeda and as I now have a lovefilm membership I can watch whatever I want! A couple of months ago I received the first DVD of Andromeda season 1 and I have to say that I was disappointed. It turns out that I'm not in love with Kevin Sorbo so much as Hercules. ...The Andromeda Strain. This is a far movie than the original film with more explanation surrounding the question of the probe which crashes in the small town of Pedemonte Utah. In the original film it was never really properly explained. We have found a tear in the fabric of space and recklessly sent in a probe to find out as much as we can about it. When the probe returns it crashes into a small out of the way town and soon everybody is dead, well not quite everybody? What has the probe brought back with it that can so easily and rapidly kill everyone human and animal alike? The probe is brought to a secure underground research station in order to discover the secrets it hold but the virus is already loose and soon America and the world is under threat of extension. Viva La Bam Seasons 2 & 3

Advantages: Hours of entertainment, Extremely Funny.
Disadvantages: Episodes are still a little short.

Grey's Season 3

Advantages: Good character development, interesting relationships

...Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy comes back with all the intensity of the first series for me and really kicks it up a gear. The characters relationships really begin to gel and get more complicated and so lend themselves to better storylines I feel in this series. We also get a lot of background knowledge on the characters that we previously never had which shows us why they are in the situations they find themselves now. If you are not familiar with Grey's it is a medical drama set in the fictional Seattle Grace hospital in Seattle. (It is actually filmed in California with some of the outdoor shots done in Seattle). The show is based around one of the main interns, Meredith Grey whose mother previously worked at the hospital too and was a brilliantly respected doctor. During this season and the previous one, Fox frequently moved the show to different days and times with hardly notice, and the ratings suffered a lot for this. In fact, Fox had already canceled Family Guy at the end of the second season, and it was only because of huge amounts of people creating websites, starting petitions and writing letters that Fox brought it back. The joy was to be short lived though, as during this season it was announced it would be canceled for good. Luckily this was not the case, but it was not for Fox's lack of trying. End of season 3 is a belter!

Advantages: Great storylines in a 3 parter

...This final installment of series 3 of Doctor Who does something we haven't seen before: it gives us a 3 part episode. This having been said, it is also the end of season finale, and as such it is going to be hard to review this disc without giving some of the plot away. So, if you are planning on watching this, be warned I may give away a little. It's necessary, I'm afraid. Up until now in the third series, we have seen a mix of episodes in terms of quality.
