...Even less people will have heard of this band than some of the others I've reviewed... but they deserve a mention, in fact they deserve more than a mere mention... Bark Psychosis started as a teenage band in the late 80s, who took a number of years to find their feet and their "true calling" as it were, eventually settling down to produce some of the most original, genre-defying work of the last fifteen years. Their music really is that original. That's not to say it's in any ay unlistenable, or completely experimental- the songs are recognisably structured- but in truth the band defies any pigeonholing. The Barking Dog, Lesbian and Gay Pub, Newcastle

Advantages: Nice Crowd, Karaoke
Disadvantages: No really bad disadvantages

...I went to the Barking Dog on friday 26th June. The atmosphere was very friendly. We went upstairs and it was more lesbian than gay. There was karakoe on when we were there and the crowd there was probably about the least stuck up and most down to Earth in the gay village. The bouncers were also friendly. We left just before 1am and it was still open. I am a gay man and went there with my partner who I have been dating for almost a year. It was nice that in the Barking dog is not a cruisey place and its not bitchy either, although it is still a gay pub and with it being more lesbian the mans toilets were nice and quiet! PRICES Bottles of VK were on offer for £1.75 a bottle. Cocktails were also reasonably priced. However the prices of the pints were as expensive as most of the other gay pubs in town. Any Given Sunday Soundtrack

Advantages: One inspiring track and 2 other good additions and thats it
Disadvantages: Too many fillers and the whole thing jumps around with no thought in track listing

.... These two usually rely on their flow to bring the track home but if youre not a fan the beats dont do anything for you so id have to put my thumbs down for this. Sole Sunday - Goldie Mob & Outkast Some dialouge from the film included in this but nothing too much else to report on it. Its just a bit boring really and Andre 3000's uplifting raps dont really give it much lift and the wasy it just fades out at the end with a pitty 'well i tried' feel just sums it up really Shut Em Down - LL Cool J. Ok one of the stars of the film, this is gonna be good. Wrong. Quick raps and shouting fom the man but not great. ...Barking Park has long been neglected in favour of the bigger, cleaner parks in the surrounding area. Advantages: Al Pacino

...When this movie was first released I missed it at the cinema, and was disappointed, as I try to see anything with Al Pacino in it, and “Any given Sunday” had received good reviews. Now that I have seen it I have mixed feelings about it. Al Pacino is great in it, and it’s a typically detailed and lengthy movie from Oliver Stone, something which based on past experience should have been in its favour. But, I finished up not really enjoying it that much. It’s a movie about American football, and a lot of the footage features stadium action, or backroom talk of tactics. Advantages: An enjoyable movie, especially if your a dog lover

...the fact he belongs to someone else and you find yourself forming a bond with the dog throughout the movie. The direction and way the script is written lead you into loving the dog and it certainly works. It seems strange to think that actors like Wilson and Aniston would play the supporting cast to a dog but that's exactly what happens here. There is chemistry between them and they are both very convincing in their role but you'll find that all you really care about is their relationships to the dog. The same can be said for every character in the film. It's not like there are any bad performances it's just the way the film has been shot and written that makes this film work where it might have failed had the focus been on one or other of the lead actors. To say that he is untalented would be a crime, but then to say that he is actually 'watchable' these days is another matter. Any Given Sunday is a perfect example of a director who has been allowed to let his own sense of self-importance go to his head and how left unrestrained this leads to lengthy works of ego-massaging cinematic masturbation. At almost 3 hours long, Any Given Sunday soils the sheets on a number of levels and it is only due to the superb cast that it manages to hold our interest for any of its length.
