...Having tried Clinique's anti-blemish gel with disapointing results I was a bit reluctant to try their 3 step system for blemished skin. But the shop assistant persuaded me to give it a go. I haven't looked back since! The packaging is a solid affair in Clinique's usual simple style with a big C on the front. The product is dispensed through a pump on the top of the bottle. I only need 2 or 3 squirts of the foam to cover my face, and I only use it once a day. I think you are supposed to use it twice a day but at this price I can't afford that and once a day does me fine. I can't really feel it working when it's on my face, some washes I've used tingle, this doesn't. But when I've used it my face feels clean and smooth. Initially I was horrified - my spots got worse! ...When I saw Clinique's Anti Blemish Solutions Concealing Stick recommended by Marie Claire's beauty editor I just had to try it. Not only did it promise to provide amazing coverage, but it also vowed to help clear up problematic skin. Being a sufferer of mild acne I was keen to find a product that could kill two birds with one stone (i.e. clear up my spots and provide even coverage underneath my foundation). At £11.50 it certainly isn't cheap but I thought I might as well try it as Benefit's and Rimmel's concealers did absolutely nothing for me. On first application I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it glided onto my skin and was an almost perfect match to my skin colour. Control that excess oil and fight those blemishes.

Advantages: My skin feels less clogged up, smooth and just looks better.
Disadvantages: It's so expensive, £15 for a face mask... I can live without this one.

Advantages: A bottle of this stuff lasts ages and it works extremely well!

Hides blemishes.. but can cause premature aging.

Advantages: Covers blemishes and spots very well. Also very compact.
Disadvantages: Could potentially cause premature aging around the eye area and drags the skin.

...I was given this Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer by my mum because she had purchased it from Boots and it came out a bit pale on her skin. I have quite fair skin but I still find it quite pale. I use it along with my normal Boots No7 concealer in a darker colour because you get a more natural look if you use the two shades together. The lighter (Rimmel) one is good for dark circles and for highlighting the light areas around your eyes because these bits are naturally more pale than the rest of your face. I then use it again as a base to prevent shine on general spots and blemishes around my chin and forehead etc, but then have to put a bit of my No7 on on top just to make the colour a bit darker.
