...Searching through pages and pages of websites for a nice, inexpensive place to stay was getting very draining until one place caught my eye. The Portonovo apartments in Puerto Rico. Four friends and I stayed at these apartments for a week in May this year and had a fantastic time. We got one bedroom apartments with two people sharing one and three in another. Two bedroom apartments are also available. The hotel offers a courtesy room for your bags, a currency exchange and a telephone. In the apartments were a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge area. The bedroom was a good size with a large wardrobe, dressing table with mirror (which we were all fighting over), and bedside cabinets with lamps. ...I am sitting at my computer with an aching head, my hands clasped desperately round a glass of Alka Seltzer. I have just returned from a hen weekend in Manchester, and I don't think I can ever drink again. However, through the haze of an Easter weekend full of laughs, late nights, food and drink, I think I can recall enough about this establishment to give you a decent insight in to staying in apartments in the city. ...The apartments are a 20 minute drive from the airport and with the aid of a map we were able to find them quite easily. The Mounts bay waters apartments are situated on Mounts Bay road which is adjacent to two of Perths greatest attractions - the Swan River and Kings Park and is also just a few minutes stroll to the Perth central business district and also (more importantly if you like retail therapy) the shops! ...We booked our holiday to Fuerteventura for the12th-19th September 2007. Being September it was guaranteed to be pretty hot, as opposed to Spain or Greece, and was about the only place in our budget that was somewhere a little different to your usual Spanish or Grecian holiday. We chose Costa Calma as we were informed it had the best beaches on the island. The Althay Apartments looked sweet, unlike the high rise complexes found elsewhere on a budget holiday. For one week the apartment was £117 self catering so only £58.50 each. The flights were £145 each so £290 and the transfers £31 each so £62. The total was £469 for two people. Not the cheapest you can find but a very modest budget! Ideal for the student budget we had. We arranged a transfer taxi coach type thing from the airport which took a little longer than an hour... ...I have read a few other of Patricia Scanlans books before. I have to say I really enjoyed them and after reading the snippet of of Apartment 3B in the back of one of her other books I decided this was the next one I wanted to read. Our local book shops never seemed to have this book in stock so I decided to wait - especially with having so many other books left on my shelf unread. Now I'm on a budget and in need of some new reading material I popped into one of our local charity shops and what should I find?!! Only Apartment 3B which I had been looking for for ages. It cost me a grand total of 60p which went to a good cause & saved me some money (RRP £5.99 in the UK) and the book was in pretty good condition too. ...Myself and my cousin stayed at these apartments in September 2007. We got moved here from the Samba hotel across the road at the last minute and when we arrived we were a little dissapointed looking at the apartments from the outside compared to the Samba but we were there and couldn\'t change it! Appearances can be deceptive and these apartments were. When you walk inside there is a large reception area with a games room, internet access (which you pay to use but is inexpensive) and pool access. The staff on reception were quite helpful and spoke good English. There are lifts and stairs so access is easy for the less mobile and people with children. The apartment we were in was quite large with one bedroom and a separate bathroom. It was pretty clean and well maintained. The only problem we had was our toaster didn\'t work which wasn... ...Haven been to Kalamaki many times before, I knew what to expect from the resort, and was of the impression that all accommodation in Greece was of similar quality. How wrong I was... The rainbow apartments are situated on the left of the t-junction at the top of Kalamaki resort, on the road to Zante town. There are about 20 distinct apartments, sixteen in their own block, and a further four above the Rainbow restaurant. The apartments also have a bar, a pool, a volleyball "area", a table tennis table, and a pool table. Everything in the public area is of acceptable quality, although nothing acceptable. The bar area sells the usual beers (Amstel, Mythos, Heineken etc), a selection of cocktails, Alco pops and soft drinks. These are of a reasonable price, a 500ml beer costs Euros. Disadvantages: No Reception, No Loungers, No Pool Bar, No Toilets!!

...We have just returned from these apartments yesterday after spending a week in Benidorm and I personally would not recommend them to anyone who is traveling as they were terrible. We arrived at Alicante airport at 19.30 and jumped on our transfer to the resort, we were dropped off outside the Vacanza apartments and were left there for 30 minutes standing outside with our cases. The apartments were unaccessible as the were surrounded by security gates and there was NO RECEPTION in the complex. We were not advised where to go or how to get our keys, Reception was a 25 minute walk away into the centre of Benidorm near the beach but this shut at 19.30. It was only when 3 nice english women from the complex spotted us standing who advised us we needed to pick up our keys from nearby Palm Beach Hotel which was nearby up a steep hill. So 2... ...Last year I took my family on holiday to Salou, I had never been to mainland spain before so did not know what to expect. I was delighted to find that the Dorado palace aparthotel lived up to its description in the brochure. This aparthotel is a relatively new complex. We stayed in the apartments which are one bedroom and have satellite television. They are cleaned daily and are decorated to a very high standard, although we had booked self catering the restaurant was such good value for money that we often had breakfast and our evening meal there it usually cost about £10-£15 per person. There was entertainment every evening which catered for all age groups. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and there are security guards evident in the evening to prevent lager louts etc. from entering the apartments... Read review

...I stayed in the elite apartments for a week in 2002. On arrival we saw a lovely pool at the front of the apartments, and a large seating area with a bar. We walked up the steps to our apartment which was on the top floor. We had the roof instead of a balcony, which was shared with the other rooms on the top floor. The other rooms had seperate balconys. Our room comprised of a kitchen, bathroom, and a large bedroom. The bathroom looked nice, was all tiled out, and was a reasnoble size. It had a shower, but i honestly couldnt remeber if it had a bath too! The kitchen was a decent size, with a table in it t eat at which would seat 4 people.
