...I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the big names like Avis, Europcar and Hertz, these desks are located in the arrivals hall and can get busy at peak times. Advantages: Beautiful,Clean city
Disadvantages: Expensive,hilly,hardly any English spoken

...After having a day trip to Alicante a couple of years ago (Well actually 2 hours on a Thomson excursion) while staying in Benidorm,my wife & myself decided to use my last 4 days holiday entitlement to have a short break in Spain & found a really good value holiday in Alicante courtesy of Easyjet. The idea was that 4 days would give us plenty of time to have a good look around the city & as we are into that sort of thing,the castle. The flight went OK but on the Alicante newsletter which I am subscribed to It recommended getting an excellent free map of the city from the information desk at the airport. Well this is where things started to go wrong - I could not find an information desk so we decided to catch the bus & get one in Alicante. As it was Sunday all the information places were closed so we finished up having to pay 5 euros...

Aparthotel Bahia

Advantages: Excellent location.
Disadvantages: Not many.

...**Opinion ** In my opinion the Aparthotel Bahia is one of the best properties on the Island, not just for the accommodation itself but for its location and access to local amenities. The Aparthotel is a very well presented 4* option situated approximately 1km from San Antonio town with its vast array of nightlife. Making this an ideal location to be in as you are close enough to the nightlife if you want it, yet far enough not to be affected by it if you fancy a relaxing night. The main clientele at this hotel is made up of young people in the high season so can be rather rowdy at times. Review of Bahia Aparthotel, Ibiza

A great holiday but not a fabulous Aparthotel !

Advantages: Set between beach and countryside,clean ,spacious apartment,good value
Disadvantages: Off the beaten track a bit, poor beach

...a separtate childrens paddling pool.Kids also have a playroom. There is a babysitting service available. If you need a crib etc you need to state this when booking this hotel. Apparently,talking to other guests there is a bit of a damp problem in the ground floor rooms,so watch out. We did not eat at the hotel at all so cannot really comment. The details are:- 1) A main restaurant on the first floor,buffet style with good views.Serves a variety of foods ie greek, international, vegetarian, childrens dishes with a choice of soft drinks,beers and wines. 2) Pool Bar ,various snacks and drinks served. 3)Main bar usual beers ,wines and spirits. Alicante city is a wonderful gap in this winter

Advantages: Excellent weather, warming sun, gorgeous seaside, awesome nightlife
Disadvantages: Beaches might be too crowded in the summer, no winter sports to do

Aparthotel Tamaimo Tropical, Tenerife

Advantages: lovely weather, nice hotels, big pools, friendly staff
Disadvantages: a few coakroaches, but only a few... remember to take some bug spray..

...severe delays for all flights. We were due to fly out at 7PM, we flew out at 9.30PM in the end. It was a 3hr and 50 minute flight. After transfers we finally arrived at the aparthotel at 3:50AM, very tired. We were greeted on arrival by a nice polite english speaking man on reception. We were checked in very quickly, given our our AI bands and shown straight to our rooms. We asked the receptionist if there was a machine were we could purchase some water. He said as we were AI we could get water straight away and brought us two bottle's to our room. We had been allocated a ground floor 1 bedroom apartment with terrace opposite one of the large pools. ...Myself and my better half stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were booked in on a self catering basis to the apartment area of the aparthotel. The apartments side of the aparthotel were only built a year or so before we stayed and as such I shall assume that all remains the same. The hotel is approximately 10-15 minutes beautiful stroll alongside the sea into the heart of Kos town. We arrived at approximately 4am after a 3.5 hour plane journey from Glasgow. Not being the best traveller at the time (I'm a thousand times worse now - simply wont get on a plane) all I wanted to do was get to bed (after unpacking of course, I'm still a female and like to organise my room).
