From Dubai With Love

Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere.
Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.

If in Dubai, stay at The Hilton Jumeirah!

Advantages: Beautiful beach hotel in the most buzzing area of Dubai!
Disadvantages: There is still construction surrounding the hotel, but everywhere has to start somewhere.

...Before I go into the details of the hotel itself and the available facilities, I would like to say that I have been a resident in Dubai for 11 years now and have seen everything this hotel has been through from its own construction, the problems it faced with the jumeirah beach residence project right through to today! The Hilton, built in an area that used to be considered as 'out in the middle of nowhere' is now very much apart of what is soon likely to be the centre of Dubai, the Dubai Marina. This is the new, futuristic, modern end of the Emirate of Dubai and is where it all happens. Advantages: Everything - a real experience hotel
Disadvantages: Cost - A little too far from Town for easy shopping/eating out

...The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons. The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star hotel - this is something that has to be taken with a pinch of salt, hotel stars are usually awarded by national tourist authorities and in my opinion are rarely an indication of quality or value for money. Advantages: Nice pool, pleasanr helpful staff, appartment very clean
Disadvantages: Bathroom stunk of drains, kitchen antiquated, no kettle, toaster or hairdryer

SUNSHINE MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK GOOD: We made our way up to the pool area and were pleasantly surprised by a couple of big pools, lots of sun loungers and umbrellas, a couple of quiet bars and a restaurant. This idea was really a case of turning the impossible into possible. Estella Hotel and Apartments Did NOT Disappoint!

Advantages: Excellent location, superb customer service levels and lovely rooms
Disadvantages: No real facilities for the disabled

...Estella Hotel Apartments is based in Limassol in Southern Cyprus where I stayed for 6 nights in late April/early May of 2009 with my cousin. The booking was made via Expedia.co.uk and worked out at approximately £200 for 2 of us sharing a twin apartment (just £100 each basically). Before I confirmed the booking through Expedia I went off and did a bit of research on the hotel to make sure I wasn?t getting something that was cockroach infested.
