...I bought my 80gb Apple Ipod in stylish black, almost 6 months ago. Since then, it's been a great portable music system, maybe even the paradigm of a near perfect MP3 player. The sound quality is near on perfect (depending on your earphones), and i belive it's the best in its kind, as i found the Ipod Nano to have consistant sound problems. The new scroll wheel is extrememly easy to use, directly contrasting to the Creative Zen scroll bar, which becomes increasingly tedious at times. What I like most about this product though, is the fact it hasn't followed the " The Smaller The Better" regime. This allows the 80gb Ipod to sit firmly in your pockets, thus preventing you from mimicking a paranoid schizophreniac, and constantly checking your pockets to see if you've left it on the bus. ...If you\'re looking for an mp3 player then this is the one to get. Watch vidoes, browse through photos, listen to music and play games! I recently upgraded my 60gb photo ipod to this 80gb video one. The sound quality remains fantastic and the extra 20gb gives me enough space to add some music videos as well as video pod casts such as Ricky Gervais or 8 out of 10 cats to name but a few. As you may have seen, it looks fantastic - it is smart, sexy and very clean looking. With only the 2 circular buttons on the face you can stop, play, skip, fast forward and rewind your tracks. At the top there is also a hold button which allows you to disable all of the buttons so that if you accidentally press one of them, nothing happens. The 80gb ipod classic is by far the best portable music player i've ever had! not only does it look great, you can store up to about 9000 songs on this beast! despite the fact it looks rather big and hefty, its actually quite light and you tend not to notice it in your pocket untill you dip in to find some loose change. the sound quality on it is amazing. you can get all sorts of equalizers for more bass, more treble, etc... to find the perfect sound for the song you are listening to. the only thing i would say is bad about the ipod classic is the touch pad, sometimes this can get stuck or it wont sense your fingers, so it can get abit annoying trying to scan your whole archive of music when youre struggling to get from the a's to z's! Advantages: YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES AND COMPLETE ALBUM COLLECTION IN YOUR POCKET
Disadvantages: SOUND LEVEL ON MOVIES NOT GREAT

...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. ...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel.... ...brought this item from ebay with full warranty for £200 as opposed to £299 from uk high street stores last year and have been very happy with its great sound quality and bass sound, and its great easy usability compared to rivals, although i have had some problems along the way, including, terrible battery life (4 hours continuous play) and the fact that the ipod would generally just freeze and not reset its self until it was synced with the computer, which was an absolute nuisance as i listen to it throughout the day!!! so i took it to the apple shop in oxford street and they 'fixed' it. but again it kept losing battery life and freezing. i took it back a further 3 times before they finally agreed to give me a new one. i thought maybe it was an isolated case but its happened to a few people i know too. so beware when buying one... ...The iPod Video 80gb is the ultimate in portable mp4 players dominating over 50% of the market. It is suprisingly small and fits into trouser pockets very nicely and is the ultimate cool accessory to have. Also the iPod is good value at £200. This thing is like a small hard drive, 80GB is the amount of storage I have on my laptop. There is so much space on this thing that I doubt you will fill it with your music collection unless you have 20,000 songs. ...After my previous iPod broke (after 3 years of solid usage) I obtained this, the 80Gb "Video" iPod. The first thing that struck me was the thinness of this compared to previous version. This is something that Apple tend to improve on with all versions of their products - slimmer and better. Being a version that supports video, I was eager to to test this out straight away, and downloaded many video podcasts, as well as converting some home-movies to a compatible format via iTunes. Watching these on the iPod itself is excellent. The video quality is clear, crisp, clean. Now - when you then plug the iPod into your TV via the available cables, you have almost no loss of quality. I say almost as I found that, as with most internet videos, you do get some of the usual blocking and pixelation when there are stark contrasts or too... Read review

...This is probably my most treasured possession. With the size of the memory, you can store more pictures, music and videos than you could ever possibly need. A pro and a con there... If your not going to fill up 80gb, i wouldn't recommend buying this ipod. At the moment i have nearly 6000 songs, and 9 (approx. 1 hour length) videos stored on my ipod classic, and still have 47.3 GB space free. If you can fill it, it's incredible value for money. If you can't, it seems a little pointless. It's very easy to use, you can make playlists on the go, the games are extraordinarily fun- not something i'd normally think about, but the ipod version of solitaire has kept me amused on many a train journey. The battery life is very good, as long as you don't continuously fiddle. The alarm is good... but has failed to wake me (a deep sleeper) up... Read review
