APPLE iBOOK G4 ,A wonderful laptop
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 1.33 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
myportfolio
Advantages: Portability, slimness, attractive color, speed, & virus free
Disadvantages: Needs Special programs
...This is a review of the iBook G4 APPLE computer.
---------------------------
AVAILABILITY:
APPLES ARE HARD TO FIND SOMETIMES, so look for you G4 at ebay for used Apples, and at Circuit City and at the APPLE stores. For exact locations check online. You can use a search engine called 37.com or dogpile to find the best locations that are nearest to you.
--------------------
PRICE:
Prices will vary; of course you'll get the cheapest prices on ebay, mabye, but you'll get the best service for you money at Circuit City or at APPLE stores or when you buy your G4 brand new. I believe you can get a G4 for approximately 1400 to 1800 US dollars depending on where you purchase it.
---------------------
STYLE AND COLOR:
The g4 as with all APPLES are the best when it comes to design and color. This company breaks away from...

TAKE A BITE AND BUY AN APPLE
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
jonnydeppontv
Advantages: no viruses, looks good, easy to use, Its an Apple
Disadvantages: NONE!
...After owning a Powerbook G4 previously, I needed a replacement - I looked around and considered buying a Sony Vaio - but ended up back with Apple and purchased the MacBook Core 2 Duo with Intel processor.
I went for the smallest one of the 3 - only because it was purely for home use. I only use it for surfing the internet, downloading pictures and music so I did not need to much memory. Plus I have an external hardrive should I need to free up space.
The software you get with a Mac is excellent -everything is much more 'friendly' compared to Microsoft - OK, Vista has arrived - but when you look at it Apple was doing all that years ago! Plus Apple have a new software edition called Tiger which comes out October 2007 which will knock socks off Vista.
I Photo - the new version is brilliant - much better than the previous ones - it just...

Excellent stylish keyboard
Review of Apple keyboard by
wicker_man
Advantages: Comfortable to type on, compact, stylish, has USB ports, cheap
Disadvantages: USB ports only 1.1, shows up dirt more than black keyboards
...Introduction
--------------------
After finally buying a used Apple PowerMac G4 Cube (one of my favourite Mac designs), I needed to buy a keyboard and mouse with it. The obvious choice was Apple's own keyboard (and Mighty Mouse, review coming shortly).
Purchasing
--------------------
I brought the Apple Wired Keyboard from John Lewis for £19.00.
It came in a nice simple white Apple box with images of the keyboard profiles on each side.
Inside the box, you get the keyboard and an extension USB cable.
Design
--------------------
The keyboard is quite small with hardly any borders, which is great for saving space on your desk. The keys are white and the outer case is transparent plastic. It has a quality look and matches Apple hardware very nicely.
The short USB cable is designed for connection to an iMac (all in one) or Apple...

One for the girls
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 1.2 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
angelatawn
Advantages: Light, easy to use, very pretty
Disadvantages: safari and firefox web browsers
...Like the manufacturers of cars, Apple seem to have embraced the idea of making smaller prettier computers for the female market - or is that just my opinion? Well, I've never seen a man with one of these, and the women I know who own them are first and foremost concerned with the prettiness of this little gem of a laptop.
However, the iBook G4 is not all show and no substance. This is a perfect computer for the designer who hammers the life out of a computer and needs something fast and reliable. Though the battery, when fully charged, will only last around 4 hours. The operating system, OS X, is superior (and the forerunner to) to Windows, especially in that it doesn't try to do the work for you. It is also incredibly simple to use. Having used PC's all of my student and working life, I thought that the switch to the Apple would...

Mighty Warrior Of Mice!
Review of Apple Mighty Mouse mouse by
wicker_man
Advantages: Adds multi-button functionality to a Mac, 360 degree scrolling, looks great
Disadvantages: May take time to get used to at first
...Introduction
--------------------
After finally buying a used Apple PowerMac G4 Cube (one of my favourite Mac designs), I needed to buy a keyboard and mouse with it. The obvious choice was Apple's own Mighty Mouse (and keyboard, which I have also reviewed).
Purchasing
--------------------
I brought the Apple Wired Mighty Mouse from an auction site for under £25 (in new condition because the seller preferred his old MS mouse).
It came in a nice simple white Apple box with images of the mouse profiles on each side.
Design
--------------------
The mouse is a simple white oval, similar in size and shape to the old Apple Pro mice. However, instead os having a clear shell on top of the white plastic, it is all opaque white with an Apple logo engraved.
From first glance, it looks like a one button mouse, with a small ball on the top...

Airport Express-Unplug Your Apple
Review of Apple Airport Extreme Card by
jonb3
Advantages: Makes your computer wireless.
Disadvantages: A bit fidly to install
...This product does exactly what it claims to do. I fitted it to my ibook G4 and found it was extremely easy to get working which was good as I feared it may not be too easy.
Instructions.
These were a little poor with regard to how to install the card to the slot. I expected it to clip in easily and like a typical bloke went straight in without reading the instructions. Stupidly I also chose not to shut down first. Please do not follow my example as it caused the computer to crash and me to hold my breath while I forced shut down. Thankfully it logged back in fine!! I also found it really close to secure the wiring beneath the keyboard. When I tried to resecure the keyboard it got stuck and would not locate or release!! Again more worries, After a period of fine tuning the wiring possitions it fitted fine. The instalation disk set up...

The Big One
Review of Apple iBook G4 - PPC G4 800 MHz - 12.1" TFT by
heatherrr13
Advantages: Light, good value for money
Disadvantages: Tricky to get the hang of.
...I decided to by an Apple laptop after seeing friends oat uni with their own unable to stop gushing about them.
After buying my own, (and then the inevitable joy at the attractiveness of the machine) I turned it on and ran through the setup procedure. All simple enough, there is not really any chance of going wrong. The only daunting part is when you're faced with a desktop different to the PC one many have become accustomed to.
Using an Apple machine takes a lot of getting used to. The first shock is the single button mouse, eliminating the possibility of the 'right-click' function that has become almost second nature. But once you have gotten used to this it isn't really an issue. The way Apple programs are set out makes using them for the first time very simple; the main layout is the same for everything, with the Apple toolbar...

Airport Extreme
Review of Apple Airport Extreme Card by
coder024
Advantages: easy to install
Disadvantages: not cheap
...The Airport extreme card allows apple users to connect to wireless networks.
It is simple to install, all i had to do was remove the battery of my powerbook then slide the card into the slot provided. Then connect the antenna to the card and replace the battery. Even though it was so simple the instrtuctions provided were very helpful and clear.
The software instalation of the product was also very simple insert the disc, follow the instructions on screen, then restart and you are ready to use the card.
The airport wireless card allows an apple computer to connect to any other wireless device, however the main uses for myself are to connect to the internet and transfer files over small wireless LAN. In both cases the card made the process simple and easy. When i switch on my laptop (powerbook G4) the card automatically connects...

Nutrition- where?!
Review of Kelloggs Nutri Grain by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Delicious outer coating, widely available, on offer.
Disadvantages: Sugar content, high retail price, sour filling on occasions.
...Summary
*Sound- n/a
*Sight- golden brown "cake-like" bars.
*Texture- crumby cake-like bar and gooey fruit
*Smell- home-baking, slight fruit aroma
*Taste- delicious outer coating, but inside can be sour
**
Aswell as the Strawberry and apple varieties, Kelloggs also does Blueberry, Raspberry, Blackberry and Apple and Cherry nutrigrain bars. I dont think these appeal as much however theyre bound to satisfy somebodys likes. All of the bars contain between 129 and 133 calories. The fat contents range between 3g to 4g of fat and the sugars are all between 10g-14g.
A more recent take on the Nutri Grain bars, are Nutri grain OAT BAKED BARS. These come in Cherry, Regular syrup-like, and chocolate. These are higher in the bad stuff, such as fat and calories. Oat bake bars contain around 200-210 calories, around 8g of fat and about 16g of sugar...

Ice cool
Review of Apple Pro - keyboard by
antsss
Advantages: Typical Apple sense of style, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Gets dirty easily, no 'hash' key
...of the current desirability and status of Apple computers, and the fact that nobody wants to break out of their colour scheme - a white eMac, white mouse, white base-station and grey or beige keyboard would not look nice at all!
--> IS IT RECOMMENDED?
If you need to replace an older Mac keyboard, or add a keyboard to a G3 or G4 iBook, the Apple Pro keyboard is a very good choice. It's expensive, but it looks the part and I have no reason to doubt it's quality. It would look stylish with coloured or white Apple computers and will hold its value and add some desirability to your Mac if you decide to sell it on later. However, if you have kids, the keyboard is probably a bit too vulnerable to dirty sticky fingers and flakes of dust and muck.
It's also worth remembering that Apple are now adopting Bluetooth in a big way, and have now launched...
