...ok so from my opinion these computers rock! You can get them in various colours (tangerine being my fave) and they simply are the best computers around. I recently (about 3 months ago) bought and i-book and i have had not one hitch at all. It has not crashed, it has not had one error and its operating system (OS.9)is just so much better than windows. You can also, if you need, buy programs from outlets such as dixons, currys,etc,which allow you to run programs on the i-book or apple mac which normally can only run under the windows operating system - which means you no-longer have an excuse not to buy and apple i-book. They also run much faster and if you're a net-head, make the internet a much more enjoyable experience. I advise you to buy one - it will be the best computer you will ever have.... Read review

...WARNING! This is an old model of iBook but I want to give a clear warning to anybody intending to buy these second hand or refurbished. There is a problem with many G3 iBooks that is well known by many users. My G3 iBook was a joy to behold - great operating system, fast, reliable, beautiful. Then after about a year the screen started to blink, go off suddenly and just dissapear completely. After calling Apple several times they told me to send the iBook in to be looked at. They found a faulty logic board, replaced it and wiped my iBooks memory in the process. Okay, I lost all my files but my baby was back. Advantages: Tiny, fast, wireless networking and sexy design

...I have had my iBook for over 6 months now, and I have never regretted the purchase. I do all my work, internet surfing and play on the thing. Apple have just recently come up with a new ibook, which sports all of these amazing features: 500 Mhz g3 Processor - Roughly equal to a 750 PIII Tiny, ice-white rugged design 12.1" XGA screen CD/CDR/DVD or CDR and DVD combo drives available option wireless networking Mirroring to Monitor or TV Firewire port - edit your digital videos Built in Networking And All this for only 1200 pounds! I know that the screen is not that large, but believe me, it is the best quality, and helps to make the'book TINY. ...of the current desirability and status of Apple computers, and the fact that nobody wants to break out of their colour scheme - a white eMac, white mouse, white base-station and grey or beige keyboard would not look nice at all! --> IS IT RECOMMENDED? If you need to replace an older Mac keyboard, or add a keyboard to a G3 or G4 iBook, the Apple Pro keyboard is a very good choice. It's expensive, but it looks the part and I have no reason to doubt it's quality. It would look stylish with coloured or white Apple computers and will hold its value and add some desirability to your Mac if you decide to sell it on later. However, if you have kids, the keyboard is probably a bit too vulnerable to dirty sticky fingers and flakes of dust and muck. ...The new iBook. Its fun, fast and exactly what I needed for a day on the road. Empowered with startling processor speeds of up to 466 megahertz, no job is too small for this gorgeous piece of technology from the guys at Apple. Arriving promptly in its box, I was surprised by how quickly and easily I could setup and begin working on the iBook. Faster than most Windows operating systems, I found the navigation simple yet effective. When I first decided upon a colour (the iBook comes in a choice of 'flavors'), I was slightly disappointed by the range available. The Special Edition comes in a 'Kermit' the frog green or Grey (yawn), so to add a little interest, I chose the green. ...For those of you who don't know, on January 7 2002, Apple announced by far the greatest development of the iMac : the LCD flat-panel iMac. The design is extremely cool - it looks sort of like an anglepoise lamp, holding all the innards in a 10" diameter hemisphere base, with the 15"LCD screen on tilt and swivel arm, which is extremely easy to adjust. But wait - the innards are really something to shout about. All iMacs now have a G4 processor - an extremely efficient processor that means that the 800Mhz version is easily as fast as much faster AMD and intel offerings. ...the wonder which is me. I create spreadsheets, I write quick tour reports, I make bar charts to impress myself. I finally feel global. One with the world. Back at my office, my secretary loads up "Virtual PC". The magic software that converts my apple into a pc. Only when I want to. So I toggle between apple and pc. Wow. I am a complete man. I am actually ahead of the game finally. I have open to me both the worlds. And it truly feels like I am in control. I adore taking my laptop to meetings and flashing 'orange'. ...I wanted a reasonably priced laptop which could not only perform number-crunching calculations but also to play some games. So I went out in search for this laptop and it wasn't long before I found it! Afriend of mine mentioned the reliability and ease of use of a Mac, so from there I started looking at the iBook, to my surprise the original iBook had little RAM and a small hard disk, so I waited for the release of the iBook SE, a laptop that has 64mb of RAM, 6Gb hard disk and a 366MHz G3 processor, PERFECT! I had found it. So I bought this laptop and a copy of Mac OS9 (I was previously a windows user) and found that as my friend had suggested it was easy to use, but what he didn't tell me was that a new version of Mac OS was due out in the next 3/4 months and having read reviews on it I realised that I had made a good descison as Mac...
