The new ipod generation
Review of Apple iPod nano 4 GB by
ILIKEMONEY
Advantages: Lots of memory, small, long battery life
Disadvantages: scrathes easily
...Ok, I have always been a fan of ipods ever since they came out. I have never owned one until this one came out, as I never could save up enough money. Lots of my friends had them but I just stuck with my phone. The only problem with that was my phone was running out of memory fast. I love music and the little memory card was full in days.
There have been 2 versions of the apple ipod nano and this is the latest version, or second generation. The first generation was the first of its kind, small and lots of memory. The 2nd gen. nano only came out for the Christmas market this year. They brought out lots of different colours and even a product red one (for HIV in Africa). Apple also made an 8GB nano in the 2nd gen. range and It has been a great success. There are big differences between the 2 different types of nano and I will tell you...

2nd Generation 2gb Ipod Nano
Review of Apple iPod Nano 2GB Second Generation by
AshR3006
Advantages: Excellent size, sound quality and navigation
Disadvantages: Headphones break to easily
...I bought my Ipod Nano off the internet so I got a much more reasonable price than in the shops and I would recommend buying from the internet! I much prefer this model of Ipod Nano to the first generation model as the new design means it doesnt show finger prints and other marks as easily. Ipods are brilliant because they are so easy to navigate and because of their size they can be kept just about anywhere. However I know some people who also find the size and lightness of the Ipod a disadvantage as it means it is easy to misplace. The only disadvantage I am yet to fine with Ipods is the headphones, I find they tend to break quite easily, by break I mean that one of the headphones begins to crackle which when played at a loud volume can hurt the ear. I know a few people that have had this problem with Ipod headphones...

Review of Apple iPod Nano 8GB Second Generation by
zikiman
Advantages: really great design, super sexy, battery life
Disadvantages: like always, battery life, earphone, it gets broken quite easily
...I'm not going to talk about the specifications in detail since you can browse it through the apple website and this review is going to be a bit personal.
My experience with Ipods? - crap~~~
I have to say that ipod is ok~, they are not that great to have. First ipod i had was ipod 3G and that ipod was ok until one day, the screen broke on me, so i got a repair from Apple since i was under the one year guarantee however, whenever i received it, it was already broken. So i sent it off again, and which then i received a normal ipod which actually worked. I used this until the screen broke AGAIN, which then i totally gave up and did not buy another ipod for another year. Then Ipod Nano 2nd Generation came out and i was immediately stunned by the design. I didn't really care how much money i had in my bank and i just bought it for myself...

why should you buy an ipod shuffle 2nd gen ??????
Review of Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB by
kane-16
Advantages: its small size, long battery life
Disadvantages: do not buy a mini when you can buy a shuffle
...I won one of these ipod shuffle 1st generations in a raffle at my scool, I kept this for quite some time and then decided to sell it so I could by the ipod mini in green. This was a big mistake i could of ever made, once I had bought the mini I realised that I could not have the mini around my neck without making it ache or have the same amount of running time as the shuffle. Apple have recently brought out the 2nd generation of the ipod shuffle which is a must have not only was i surprised at its amazing size but the battery life of one seems to never end, the shuffle comes in many colours and i happened to choose blue. It holds approx 240 songs and is really good value for its money as it is complete with docking station and also i received the new style earphones that creates brilliant sound quality music....

Apple iPod 4th Generation Click Wheel
Review of Apple iPod 4th Generation by
Peperami
Advantages: Good sound quality, easy to use and lightweight,
Disadvantages: Scratches easily and Expensive
...My ipod
I have got a 4th generation 20 gigabite ipod click wheel, bought it from the Apple site for £209, it came with a charger and adapter, firewire cable, itunes software, ipod updater, docking station, headphones and free laser engraving.
The charger and adapter is used to recharge the ipod after 10 to 11 hours of use, the firewire cable plugs into your laptop or PC firewire port on the computer, it is used to upload and download music from the computer to your ipod. The itunes software that came with your ipod lets you share and listen to music from your computer, manages your ipod library by organising files into playlists. The ipod updater updates your ipod with the latest ipod software to fix bugs, improved compatibility with itunes 4.7 and the itunes Music Store and improved USB 2.0 connectivity.
Ipods come in 20, 40...

4 Generations on, and it keeps improving.
Review of Apple iPod 20 GB by
Crazy_Josh
Advantages: Looks Good, Great Sound Quality, Makes You Cool!
Disadvantages: Scratches Easily, Technical Features Don't Compare Well to Others.
...I bought my Ipod in early September (I think), as I had been planning on getting one for a while. But I waited for the 4g version to come out, and went onto amazon and bought it for £215. I think the price is dropping slowly, but don't expect to get one for much less than £200 unless you go 2nd hand, or imported from the US.
Why Ipod?
-----------------------------------
I don't think that I fully appreciated how much my Ipod would mean to me when I decided upon it, I really had no idea how much I would use it. I knew I had alot of MP3s, and I knew I liked listening to them, and I knew that I needed a portable digital music player of some kind. But when I went for this one, I still wasn't really sure it was the right one for me.
I had visited my local audio retailer and asked to see a 3g before the 4g was out. He went...

They squashed my ipod into a stubby!
Review of Apple iPod nano 8 GB by
andycharger
Advantages: Lots of storage, good sound, new features, video playback
Disadvantages: all 2nd gen stuff wont fit, not different enough to warrant purchase
...Well I guess the people at Apple must have been stumped as to what to do this year. So to make sure they have a \"new\" product in the market they took the existing Ipod Nano, squashed it, rounded it and sent it on its merry way to the shops, just in time for the Christmas rush.
Yes, I was not in desperate need for a new Ipod. My 2nd Generation 4Gb Nano has done me well, if a little scratched on the casing from being stuck in my pocket with coins and keys. However, when I was offered a new one with twice the storage capacity, I would have been a fool to turn it down.
Looks/feel,
Shorter, stockier and stubbier than its predecessor, the new Nanos have lost their sharp corners and slimline appearance for a more robust looking design. Why? Well i think the older design may have been a little fragile in certain hands, but im sure Apple...

Apple earphones for ipod (ships with 2nd gen nano)
Review of Apple iPod Earphones by
grahambates100
Advantages: Nice look, comfortable fit.
Disadvantages: As usual, marks you as a target for mugging; started to fall apart after 5 months!
...To be honest, I woudn't recommend these. The sound quality is distinctly average with poor bass depth and tinny treble. Whilst the traditional 'mug me I have an ipod' styling remains, the grey rubber trimming you can see in the image starts to peel off within about 5 months as two of my friends also found. That's quite unsatisfactory on a pair of £19 earphones. What's worse is that upon taking them to my local apple shop (in Manchester's Trafford Centre) and brandishing my receipt, I was told there was 'nothing that nobody could do mate' | | |
