There are many new features to the iPod Classic. The sound quality is great and the video quality is just as good as a TV. With 160GB of memory you will never have to worry about running out of space ever again. The iPod its self is very durable. I have dropped my iPod lots of times and it still looks brand new. The screen is a bit like a small wide screen TV but its great for watching TV shows and movies. I wouldn't recommend that any one buys a second hand iPod, as they are quite often broken. When you used to have the 2 GB iPod Nano you was always worrying about how much space you had left but now everything is going to change. The iPod Classic is very durable and is practically unbreakable. The battery life on the iPod Classic is excellent. You can listen to music for up to 40 hours and you can watch videos for up to 7 hours. The memory is the best thing with the iPod Classic. You can hold up to 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video. ...Initially I bought this for my commute to work. Having owned a IPod video 30 gig which suffered long term abuse, and being dropped countless times - I decided to splash out and treat myself. The IPod classic - well, there is not much difference functionality then the IPod video. Opening any product made by apple is a joy in itself - one does wonder how long they deliberate over the pretty box! Getting over the box design, the IPod is neatly presented - with the contents kept in individual packaging. Once I tapped the play button, the usual setup menu was a welcoming sight and I continued the usual setup process. However you can setup the IPod by hooking it directly to the laptop and launching ITunes. Synced the IPod up to my library - and have been happy since! Advantages: An excellent MP3 player with a huge hard drive.
Disadvantages: So much space available you may not know exactly what to do with it all.

...Once I bought the iPhone I was dying for another bite of the Apple. I have a huge and ever expanding collection of music and therefore need a large MP3 player to hold it all on. The iPhone is great, but with a 16GB hard drive it just isn't quite large enough to store my masses of music on. From Abba right through to ZZ Top; the 160GB Apple iPod can hold it all and there is still plenty of space left over for my ever expanding music collection. Having so far taken up 100GB I think I'm doing quite well at filling it so far, but there's still plenty more that can be stored and I doubt I'll be stretching my player to its full capacity for a long while yet. 100GB is the total amount of music I have amassed during the last 5 or so years, and to tell the truth a lot of the music on there I probably shan't be listening to ever again. ...I purchased this to replace my 3rd Gen? 40gb iPod and boy what a difference. The screen on the new 160gb iPod is MUCH bigger than my old iPod and also the screen is in colour. The 160gb iPod's screen shows a lot more info than my old iPod such has Cover Flow (I will mention this later in the review) and album covers. The quality of the screen is absolutely amazing; it remains bright in direct sunlight and is ALWAYS very easy to read. The iPod 160gb also has the ability to play videos but I cannot comment on this feature as I have not used it yet. The excellent click wheel is still here as well; for people who are not familiar with this, the white circle on the front of the iPod has 4 functions on it, MENU (TO GO INTO MENUS, TRACK LISTS, VARIOUS OTHER FUNCTIONS) SKIP FORWARD, SKIP BACK, PLAY/PAUSE. A few months or so ago I bit the bullet and decided to research a little on iPods, the classic was about to be released and looked promising and the prices had dropped a huge amount. A 160gb classic for under £200 did seem like a great option. I threw caution to the wind and thought what the hell, a friend promised to buy it off of me if I wasnt happy so I couldnt really lose! I ordered my iPod and it arrived the next day (The wonders of the internet) It took minutes for me to have it hooked up to my PC and charging while I put some music on it.
