Reviews of apple ipod classic 80gb
Market leading by merit?
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB by
readie25
Advantages: Easy to use, great screen, robust
Disadvantages: Putting videos onto device is difficult, no mains charger
...The Apple iPod remains largely the industry yardstick by which mp3 players are measured, and for good reason. Good battery life, great storage capacity for the size, and excellent presentation and accessibility are now common throughout the iPod range. Headphone sound quality, however, is tragically average.
However, there are also systemic drawbacks to the Apple range - first and foremost the iTunes store and obscure filetypes required by the iPod - if you want to watch a video on your iPod you must first convert it into the required format; a laborious and seemingly unneccessary process that does diminish from the usability of the product that Apple so readily extols. Once the video is on the device, it does becomes easy to navigate through, but the battery life does suffer.
The iPod remains the market leader, but perhaps because...

IPod is still Classic
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black by
vanillaB
Advantages: looks amazing. capacity. quality garaunteed
Disadvantages: witht the reduced thickness the dock for the earphones protrudes slightly
...Apple have never been one to skimp on style or practicality and the IPod does not dissapoint.
The IPod is a modern icon and with the new and improved screen display along with the ease of use this is still the king of mp3 players. with new features such as cover flow and the ability to play high quality and graphic games the classic IPod is given a new lease of life and with so much space you never need to worry about being selective with your albums again.
Combine this with the extensive selection available to customers from ITunes this product is a must have, it offers the most flexibility, the most choice of content and the best look throughout the world of MP3 players. This really is the only player you need and i recommend it 100%...where else do you get those white earphones....

Amazing bit of Kit
Review of Apple iPod classic 160 GB by
layton87
Advantages: Nearly Flawless music and video player!
Disadvantages: potentially itunes software bugs, non removable battery
...My experience with this player has been nothing short of staggering, to the point that i only have one downside with the player to date...firstly on to the positives, the sound quality through a decent set of earphones (i use shure e2s) and even through the supplied buds is excellent providing you upload good quality files onto the ipod... The ease of use is your standard apple affair, the clickwheel is present again making it simple to jog through artists, albums and songs..design is also standard apple, the 160gb version being slightly larger than 80gb but still thin enough to pocket nicely at a good weight...one of the greatest feature but also downside is the battery, this thing runs for around 42 hours straight for me in my tests and thats a hell of a lot of music and around 8 hours video thats with the volume around 60...

Apple Ipod 80GB
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB by
Samjadickie
Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see
...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

Ipod,a tool for the clueless generation
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black by
hypnotique
Advantages: nice design
Disadvantages: most things
...nothing special, its just another ipod but with video playback.
i bought mine under a year ago and the screen is starting to fuzz up and occasionally it crashes and i have to leave it to let the battery die so it works again....dont get me started on the battery; it only goes down to 4-5 hours. The only way i can replace it is to send it back to apple and for a hefty fee get it replaced (since the warrenty on the battery was for only 3 months)
They are very durable and do not break if theyre dropped though, which is good for me since i tend to not take care of my things when they are lying around the house.
they are nicely designed (with the touch wheel) and are easier to control moving through your music albums. The files are nicely displayed, as you can sort your files into your own folders for you to find quickly when in public...

Apple 80gb Ipod, Big Is Better
Review of Apple iPod 80 GB Black by
whitby_qpr
Advantages: Size, Memory Space
Disadvantages: None
...I bought my 80gb Apple Ipod in stylish black, almost 6 months ago. Since then, it's been a great portable music system, maybe even the paradigm of a near perfect MP3 player.
The sound quality is near on perfect (depending on your earphones), and i belive it's the best in its kind, as i found the Ipod Nano to have consistant sound problems.
The new scroll wheel is extrememly easy to use, directly contrasting to the Creative Zen scroll bar, which becomes increasingly tedious at times.
What I like most about this product though, is the fact it hasn't followed the " The Smaller The Better" regime. This allows the 80gb Ipod to sit firmly in your pockets, thus preventing you from mimicking a paranoid schizophreniac, and constantly checking your pockets to see if you've left it on the bus.
Overal, the 80gb Ipod is great value for money...

Ipod Classic review
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB by
Eldinho2007
Advantages: It feels so expensive and it looks gorgous
Disadvantages: Your finger prints will get all over the mirrored back
...This is my 5th portable music player and let me just say it is my last. My Ipod Classic is so good I dont think I will ever need to buy another portable music player.
No matter how big your libary is you will have plenty of room with the Ipod Classic and if you have access to the internet you will never have to worry about it getting old either because there are regular update's.
The Ipod Dose not support WMA so make sure the music you curently have is mp3.
The Ipod classic can play films, games and music. It also has a full colour screen and a gorgous body.
It feels so expensive it even has a mirriored back. When you hold the Ipod classic in your hand you will feel so proud....

Ipod Classic - Flop
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black by
Nick90
Advantages: Huge Memory
Disadvantages: Not pocket proof
...When i purchases this Ipod earlier this year, shortly after they came out in England, i was very dissapointed with this ipod. With its mirrored back leadign to scratching and dust collection it is necesary to buy a case for it, but what a selection, you can buy a rubbish cloth case which you cannot see the screen, or a rubber one which makes changing a song almost physically impossible.
But to talk about the Ipod itself, the black is prone to scratching far more easily than the silver version. Although it looks better in my opinion, more futuristic and sleek it does gather dust at an alarming rate......
The cheapest place i could find the ipod (at a reputable seller) was on www.play.com but thats if your ok with buying over the internet, but HMV arent that bad if youw ant to go and see it. Or you could always go to the Apple shop...

yet another ipod
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB Black by
paul91
Advantages: storage capacity
Disadvantages: the cost is a bit over the top
...I think that it has been two years since Apple launched its last standard iPod and it's not surprising to see the design tweaked this time around. But while it hasn't received quite as dramatic a makeover as the nano this is still a very nice refinement. The most obvious change is to the glossy front fascia, which has now been dumped in favour of anodised aluminium fronts.
Like the nano, the corners are rounded and the edges curve gently towards smartly sharp corners, while the back is shiny, easily marked chrome, just as before. The Classic has also been slimmed down by a few millimetres - all the better for your pocket at just 10.5mm (13.5mm for the 160GB model), but this is hardly a dramatic change and in all other respects - physically at least - the Classic remains very familiar. A 320 x 240 resolution, 2.5in screen still occupies...
