Advantages: Great product, nice audio playback. Beautiful screen
Disadvantages: Short battery life when playing games. A couple of very small annoyances.

...with the item since I received it as a gift. This brings me onto the free engraving option on all new Ipod's. This feature that Apple offers adds a really nice touch to the item as it is an ideal gift for anyone. You can personalise a message to go onto the back of the Ipod upon purchase. However this pretty much ruins any chance of selling it second hand for a decent price after you have finished using or replaced it. The 8GB if memory that comes can hold a lot of, music, games, podcasts and you can even use it as a memory stick for other files. I am yet to fill mine but I have a relatively small music collection, I would suggest getting the 16GB if you have an expansive collection of music. The battery life is good, and I'm hoping that the battery on this Ipod doesn't go the same way as my old one, barely being able to hold a charge...

...Sound quality You will never get the sound quality from and MP3 player that you would from a standard stereo and the internal amp does limit the volume and sound quality even when hooked up to an external hifi or upgraded headphones. This considered the sound is warm an more than accepable for a device of this type. Ease of use As with all Ipods this can be used simply and easily by users of any level. The menus are simple to navigate and clear. In my experience the Nano's functionality is second to none. Getting data onto the Nano is resonably straight forward but you do need to download itunes from apple.com/uk before you can start putting songs onto the device.
