Advantages: Good Storage, A Good All Rounder, Tougher Than Older Models.

In my opinion the 8GB storage space is the best option, it gives you the ability to hold your favorite few films whilst still being able to store all your music, the screen although not massive is reasonably large enough to be able to watch videos on and has good picture quality. The newer Ipod nano seems to be tougher that the older nano's, small drops are no longer a worry of broken screens or freezing. Apple iPod Nano 8GB (£99-£129 : July 08)

Advantages: Nice menu system, good sound quality & EQ
Disadvantages: Overpriced, no card slot, no radio, earphones, itunes

...important aspect of any mp3 player though is it's sound quality and if you can keep the earphones in this is indeed very good. I ported one of my own tracks to the device and could not hear a distinguishable difference between the original source and the mp3 version on the Apple. So with all this going for it why should you avoid buying one? Well lets start with the price. £130 for an 8GB player does seem a bit high even if it has got video playback. Considering Sumvision produce a 4GB device which can be found online for about £25 you really have to question if this iPod is really good value. Then there's the proprietry software with it's niggly DRM to protect the rights of the 'Arteestes' which means it's easy to get content from your PC to your iPod but not so easy to transfer it from Ipod to PC. ...this ipod is really good. It comes with standard ipod earphones worth about £20 - £25. The ipods full memory is around 7.2 gb because of the space the actual ipod programme comes with. the ipod can play videos in mp4 format and these are usually very good quality. the ipod comes with a few quizzes in the games section and a block breaker game although my favourite game is the music quiz which collects info on the music in your ipod and quizzes you about them so this game i thought was very clever. the ipod plays both mp3 and wma files although every song must be uploaded onto itunes but dont worry you dont need to buy every song you can rip the music from cd's or upload them from your computer. Ihave had no problem with my ipod yet and ive had it for about 8 months ( date correct at 8th july 08)...

Yes, so maybe there are a few tiny issues with it, but when you look at it and consider the cute, chic design of the thing- how can you not fall in love with it? I hate to be anywhere without my music, and the nano is the perfect way to carry my music with me. Small enough to fit in my pocket, with more than enough memory to store all my songs on it, and excellent sound quality, the iPod nano 3rd gen is a must-have.
