...Apple iPod Nano 8GB Black I personally love the new design of the Apple iPod Nano. They are very reliable and easy to use. The battery life is great and the video quality is outstanding. The graphics are excellent all round including the video playback. I have dropped my iPod so many times that I have lost count. They are very durable which is great if you are clumsy. With 8 GB of memory you can store about 2,000 songs or 8 hours of video or 7,000 photos, which you can browse whenever you want. The battery life on the iPod is also great. ...important aspect of any mp3 player though is it's sound quality and if you can keep the earphones in this is indeed very good. I ported one of my own tracks to the device and could not hear a distinguishable difference between the original source and the mp3 version on the Apple. So with all this going for it why should you avoid buying one? Well lets start with the price. £130 for an 8GB player does seem a bit high even if it has got video playback. Considering Sumvision produce a 4GB device which can be found online for about £25 you really have to question if this iPod is really good value. Then there's the proprietry software with it's niggly DRM to protect the rights of the 'Arteestes' which means it's easy to get content from your PC to your iPod but not so easy to transfer it from Ipod to PC. ...I'm not going to talk about the specifications in detail since you can browse it through the apple website and this review is going to be a bit personal. My experience with Ipods? - crap~~~ I have to say that ipod is ok~, they are not that great to have. First ipod i had was ipod 3G and that ipod was ok until one day, the screen broke on me, so i got a repair from Apple since i was under the one year guarantee however, whenever i received it, it was already broken. So i sent it off again, and which then i received a normal ipod which actually worked. I used this until the screen broke AGAIN, which then i totally gave up and did not buy another ipod for another year. Then Ipod Nano 2nd Generation came out and i was immediately stunned by the design. I didn't really care how much money i had in my bank and i just bought it for myself... Read review

...away. It's only 6mm thick! It also weighs in at around 2oz as well. It's that tiny it looks fragile and you're scared you're going to break the thing. The screen is 2" though and very well lit (at 50% it's still quite bright) so viewing things isn't going to give you serious eye strain unless you're watching a subtitled film (which would be near impossible) or you have poor eyesight. Underneath the screen you have what\'s known as the clickwheel. Despite it's name the wheel doesn't actually rotate, but more on that later. As I said it looks tiny, but very sexy and in to the small space apple have managed to fit 8Gb of memory for storing your favourite tunes, videos and piccies on. ...The Apple iPod nano is by far my favourite of all the Apple products I can actually afford - and I don't think you can go past the 8 GB version. Not only does it come in all the crazy colours (black, silver, pink, green, blue and if you're lucky, red), it's the most attractive in both screen and body for all of the smaller versions of the iPod. The playback abilities of this model makes the 8 GB version a necessity - otherwise you can't fit a substantial number of songs and videos on at the same time. While the screen is small and can make watching videos somewhat less impressive, the resolution is good enough to stop it from being a pointless exercise. The screen resolution is also pretty good for game-play, as well - the iPod comes with three games included. The iPods are pretty user friendly once you master the click wheel... Read review

...I wanted an Apple iPod from when they were first introduced several years ago, but back then, they were quite expensive, so I was pleased when I received one for my birthday in March. My iPod Nano is the slimline black 8GB version. It has the capacity to store 2000 songs, which can be either downloaded from CD, via a computer or from the iTunes website, which is a huge music database, each song costing around 70 pence. The convenience of this, means you need only store songs you want and not have to pick and choose from an album. I usually find I only ever like one or two songs on an album, so it can be a costly method. The iPod nano comes with earphones, user guide booklet and USB cable connector, which allows the ipod to "sync" itself to the iTune "library" and also acts as a charger, taking power from the computer... ...Sound quality You will never get the sound quality from and MP3 player that you would from a standard stereo and the internal amp does limit the volume and sound quality even when hooked up to an external hifi or upgraded headphones. This considered the sound is warm an more than accepable for a device of this type. Ease of use As with all Ipods this can be used simply and easily by users of any level. The menus are simple to navigate and clear. In my experience the Nano's functionality is second to none. Getting data onto the Nano is resonably straight forward but you do need to download itunes from apple.com/uk before you can start putting songs onto the device. However, this 2nd generation nano has refuted all the negative claims made against the nano. The design is exactly what you would expect from Apple - sleek and stylish, minimalistic and practical, something to be proud to be seen with! This iPod is surprisingly easy to use, with a simple click wheel system which is very responsive to the touch.
