Apple Mac Mini Core Duo..
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.83 GHz by  copester69

Advantages: Small but powerful, its a great starter apple,
Disadvantages: Limited scope for upgrade,

...My friends always said to me that I should get an apple computer, but stubbornly I always resisted as I thought I should stick to what I know. That was until I used an apple mac. This mini core duo is an inexpensive way to get onto the apple ladder, and you wont be disappointed. Straight out of the box, it looks very stylish and would compliment any home cinema or music system. For such a small unit, the apple packs quite a punch, with ports such as USB and ethernet, wi-fi and bluetooth, as well as a remote control, the apple wont leave you wanting. Whats more, one of the most positive things about apples is that most of the inside is made by apple, unlike in PC's where everything is thrown together and hoped that it works. Apple seems to just work like a PC doesn't. It's not perfect though. The sheer size... Read review

Stylish slimline Mac gets the Intel chip!
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.66 GHz by  sibod

Advantages: Slim, quiet, easy to use, stylish, Remote control
Disadvantages: No keyboard or Mouse, non-upgradeable, slow graphics chip.

...I upgraded/swapped over to a Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1.66mhz for the simple reason that I didn't use my PowerMac G5 enough to justify the space it occupied. My gargantuan PowerPC beast was swiftly sold and in its place a lovely little Mac Mini INTEL machine, complete with it's own Infra-Red remote. I had to supply my own Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor (but then this is a 'feature' of the design - you buy it as a 2nd computer, to compliment your existing PC, or as an upgrade - thus keeping the components you use for the latter). I ordered mine with a 100gb Hard drive and 1gb of RAM, as it uses a portion of the built in RAM for video. Everything comes in a tiny little box, easily the smallest for a computer that I've ever seen! You also get a copy of the full iLife suite, and various software demo's and a couple of games. Al... Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT by  pieceofmind

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money... Read review

Once You Go Mac, You Never Go Back!
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  scotlandizdabest

Advantages: Fast, Brilliant Design, Brilliant Software, Brilliant!
Disadvantages: Pricey

...After writing some of my reviews on this laptop, I thought itself is worth a review. Enjoy What Is It? The Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz - 13.3" TFT is the latest notebook to add to the Apple Mac range. For anyone who doesn't understand Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz - 13.3" TFT, this basically means it is a lot faster than any other notebook previously made by Apple. TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor which means the pixel quality will be very good so brilliant to play movies, games on etc. Why Pick Apple Computers? Ever since 1977, Apple has been making computers to compete with Microsoft. Apple was popular but it wasn't until the iPod was released, that made Apple a huge name and that is when I heard of the company. Apple are now a leading competor in the Computer market. The MacBooks replaced the iBook which were... Read review

Great introduction to Mac OS / Home Theater PC
Review of Apple Mac mini Core Duo 1.83 GHz by  alphamusic

Advantages: Price, performance, design, OSX 10.5, Windows with Bootcamp, HTPC, remote controll
Disadvantages: Limited upgradability

...I recently upgrade from a 1.5Ghz G4 stealth upgrade Mac Mini to the Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz mini and I am very impressed with the performance improvements. With Xbench the Core 2 Duo was approximately twice as fast as the G4 on many tests. The Mac Mini has a very small form factor 6.5"x6.5"x2" which makes it well suited as a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or for desktop use where space is at a premium. I primarily use the mini as an everyday computer with some HTPC use. The computer looks at home both on the desk and under a TV. The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. The only real limitation over the mini's bigger brothers, the iMac and Mac Pro is the fact that it's expandability is more restricted. The stock laptop hard drive is slower than... Read review

The MacBook
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  jack7hardy

Advantages: a joy to use, good software, easy to get to grips with.
Disadvantages: not all software is available on the Mac, C4 online for eg.

...-players. Apple was now it’s way to creating not only electronic devices, but a whole new lifestyle. In the fall of 2001 consumers saw the rise of the iBook and the PowerBook G4 as new personal and portable computers. Apple had created a digital hub concept where everything was available through Apple making it easier for consumers to decide with PC was better for them because an Apple computer offered it all. And in early 2003 the world was shown the iPod a revolution in the storing of music, for personal use, leading to the iTunes store and leading to more variations of the iPod, with the Nano and the shuffle all becoming prominent in today’s digital market. Specification of the MacBook. • Memory2 - 1GB 667 DDR2 - 2x512MB SO-DIMMs • Hard drive - 160GB Serial ATA drive (5400rpm) • Processor - 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo • Video – Built... Read review

Apple of My Eye!
Review of Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  lisacallow

Advantages: Robust, ease of use, compact and portable!
Disadvantages: None

...the more traditional approach of a mouse. With 2 USB ports you can instantly plug in an Apple USB Mouse or any other for that matter! In terms of speed and storage the Macbook serves up 1GB RAm (upgradable to 2GB for around £125 via Apple) which is great if you have invested in your MacBook for the long-term. The massive 120 GB Hard-Drive is also upgradable to 160 gig if you require additional memory, however 120 Gig is huge for a laptop and unless you are replacing a home PC its doubtful you'll necessarily take up all the memory on your Macbook with just personal usage, then again it depends what you are using it for. I currently have about 12 gig of music on mine! The Apple MacBook Pro 2 GHz Core Duo Laptop uses the very powerful Intel Core Duo processor with a processor speed of 2 GHz and the operating system used to run the Laptop... Read review

Apple iMac - A superb piece of kit
Review of Apple iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz - 20" TFT by  kduggan

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: The mighty mouse takes some getting used to

...I have been a Mac user for the last few years, my first plunge was with a Mac mini and this allowed me to try the Apple brand without spending too much money. I loved the Apple product so much that after 12 months of using the Mac Mini I went out and bought an iMac 20" 2.16Ghz core 2 duo. I love it! My mac mini had OSX Panther installed and now I have OSX Tiger which has so many little improvements over Panther such as Dashboard - I have my calculator, google mail checker, webcam viewer and other little bits and bobs which all pop up as soon as I press F12. Great touch. The computer itself is a dream to use. It came with a 250GB hard drive which is almost full now and no slowdown in performance is found. - The monitor is crisp and clean and the speakers quite powerful. I have added a small program called "shades" which... Read review

MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  steffie23

Advantages: Powerful, Easy to use Software. Not Windows.
Disadvantages: None, honestly.

...This is my first Mac and to say I am amazed is an understatement, this laptop is simply the bomb, everything you could wish for, Fast, Cool and very nice to look at. It has a lighted keyboard making working in low light conditions a breeze. It has 2 USB ports , a FireWire 400 and 800 port and a DVI Port for the best connectivity possible by current standards. The included software is superb, the Magnetic Power Connector is nice and makes using it near animals or small children no problem, if the brush past it, it simply pulls out without risk of knocking the laptop off. This is the Core 2 Duo version of the MacBook Pro that is Cooler and Slightly faster than the Previous model, the other major differences between this and the older models is the Cache 4 Meg vs 2meg and the addition of 128 Bit SSE making this equal to greater than... Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT
Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  sammyboi08

Advantages: ''
Disadvantages: ''

...;-) General comments: I wanted to upgrade my old Titanium Powerbook (bought in 2001) and so took a flight to London to personally handle the latest MacBook Pro 17". I walked into the shop in Regent Street with £3000 cash - discovered the MBP was in my eyes rubbish, so came home again without wasting my money. I had seen the Macbook 13" black book and was impressed since it was compact and had most of the features of the MBP. Hence at the start of December 2007 I walked into a shop in France and bought it - you can only go for so long trying to use hardware which is seven years old when working in the hi-tech world. I made the compromise and bought this Macbook and was able to persuade Monsieur Lawrence of Apple Service in France to exchange the French keyboard for a QWERTY one free of charge. He was also kind enough to send me the latest "Leopard... Read review
