Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT
Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)
...Apple mac-books, where to start...
ok, so to start,
it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are.
this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop.
The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop.
The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz - 13.3" TFT - excellent!
Advantages: portable, runs very fast, large storage with TimeMachine application for backing up your work
Disadvantages: some problems with using Safari, though this may be due to the wireless network I am using, costs!
...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory.
The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari.
My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it!
It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size. Another feature I particularly liked was that it has a light up keyboard for when you are in darker rooms - you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard the same as you can for the screen. Looks very impressive!
It is...

Apple MacBook Core 2 Duo 13.3" - I'm a convert
Advantages: Stylish, flexible, super fast startup
Disadvantages: Pricey compared to a PC
...the choices below; they're all open source/freeware. My budget for toys is dry following the arrival of the MacBook, so it's cheapies or freebies for me for a while.
So here goes:
1. Browser (Firefox)
With the advent of Firefox V3.0 (FF3), I was finally teased away from Internet Explorer (IE) on the PC. The time taken to develop css sites and make them work cross-platform was hugely reduced, I was a convert. I'm sure Safari is truly great, but I'll be sticking to FF for dev for the foreseeable future.
2. Messaging client (MSN Messenger for Mac)
A no brainer really, need to retain the continuity with my previous MSN contacts. That said, I've hardly used it since I installed it.
3. Twitter client (TweetDeck)|
If you're into Twitter, you need a client. This one fits the bill nicely, lets you group your followees and has a nice user interface. It...

Old design hides great new features
Advantages: Huge, High res display. Very quick, great processor, ram, high capacity HDD
Disadvantages: No unibody design, some features only available on SMALLER model, Still no Blu-Ray
...unibody machines).
It is, as it's name implies, designed around the large, 17" display. The whole machine is only slightly larger than the display itself, approximately 1/4 of an inch larger on the left and right side, and 1/2 of an inch larger on the top and bottom. The computer is a shade less than an inch thick when closed, and around about 3 KG. It is a large laptop, but is about the thinest and lightest large screen laptop available.
It's specs are impressive, what you expect from a top end mac, a dual core 2.5GHz processor, large 320GB hard disc, 4GB ram as standard and NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory make this a powerful road warrior laptop.
It includes most of the additional features you find on high end computers too. 802.11 B/G/N wireless networking, gigabit ethernet, bluetooth 2.1 EDR...

Review of Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 DUe
Advantages: Most points are advantages, excellent laptop!!
Disadvantages: can be difficult with compatibility when dowloading, doesn't work with 4OD
...I would recommend this product to anybody looking for a laptop. It's very easy to use, even for somebody who would describe themselves as computer illiterate. It's suitable for both personal and professional uses and the small details such as the built-in camera and the iphoto application aswell as the remote that comes with it which can be used for power point presentations etc. make the Apple Macbook Pro stand out amongst other brands. It has bluetooth for easy connection with your mobile phone which can come in handy, regular update alerts which have been suprisingly useful. The safari internet server is very well set out and easy to use. As a student with lots of essays to write and passages and reports to download from the internet, it was important to me for my laptop to have a system that would allow this to be both easy...

Late 2008 Macbook Pro
Advantages: Large screen, backlit keyboard, aluminium casing, unibody
Disadvantages: Expensive!
...lighting (in a car perhaps) also the new LED is very bright compared to the old LCD screens. Running OS X 10.5 leopard on this machine really is a joy.
There are downsides however these include a marked decrease in performance when running windows virtually in Vmware Fusion (the black macbook is faster even with a similar 2GB RAM configuration). The performance decrease makes little sense but performs consistently badly on this macbook pro. Due to the thickness of the screen it can seem very brittle and requires a lot more care in order to prevent damage. The macbook discrete graphics adaptor appears to make very little difference to performance of any application on OS X. This may just be because I do not use it intensely enough on OS X. The macbook pro also appears to struggle with some forms of compressed videos such as DivX movies...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 15.4" TFT
Advantages: ''
Disadvantages: ''
...;-)
General comments: I wanted to upgrade my old Titanium Powerbook (bought in 2001) and so took a flight to London to personally handle the latest MacBook Pro 17". I walked into the shop in Regent Street with £3000 cash - discovered the MBP was in my eyes rubbish, so came home again without wasting my money. I had seen the Macbook 13" black book and was impressed since it was compact and had most of the features of the MBP. Hence at the start of December 2007 I walked into a shop in France and bought it - you can only go for so long trying to use hardware which is seven years old when working in the hi-tech world. I made the compromise and bought this Macbook and was able to persuade Monsieur Lawrence of Apple Service in France to exchange the French keyboard for a QWERTY one free of charge. He was also kind enough to send me the latest "Leopard...

Macbook core 2 duo 13.3 inch aluminium casing
Advantages: Stylish design, solid case, light weight
Disadvantages: gets a bit warm under windows
...Recently i decided to purchase the new aluminium cased apple macbook. The price is quite high starting off around £900. I took a trip down to my local apple shop to find out a little more about the macbook, I got talking to a member of staff in store who told me a little more about the system i wanted to purchase and about discounts i could recieve. As i am a student i recieved my macbook with a 14% discount and also 3 years warranty for £50. When i got home i took it out of the box, the macbook has a strong aluminium casing which aids in keeping cool, the macbook is really cold to the touch when it has been off for hours which is quite a shock when it touches your skin. The macbook itself is really stylish with a thin screen with a built in webcam, the screen is really clear and has a glossy look to it. The builtin webcam has good...
