...The Issue There is a big issue that the new Ipod which Apple has recently released has had one or two problems. One being the way in which it scratches easily and the other in the way its screens crack easily. I will be summing up the argument on both sides, including my own opinion. The Nano came out early in September and since then there has been a number of complaints. People have taken it to court saying that they should get a refund for the damage they inflicted on it. ...know an apple inside out and can help you set up your apple and give you a quick overview - plus they discuss what your needs are and then say look this is too powerful for you or you really need to be looking at the next one up. I purchased a cover for mine (clear plastic cover). I have a parrott who likes to bite things and loved my last one to bits - doesn't sound to strong does it if a bird can break things - he is an African Grey and has a really strong beak so in my opinion nothing in his way is safe not even my laptop. I also purchased the extra 3 year apple cover with the machine. Apples hardly break down - my previous one broke down once and I had to use the service under this service. Essentially, it will only work with Apple powermacs that were built over the past couple of years, as it uses Apple's proprietary connector, the Apple Display Connector. ...be daunting. But now I would never go back to the PC at home. The lightweight yet powerful nature of this computer is also ideal for showing work to clients etc - an Apple is always a show stopper! Its also great for watching your DVD's on flights to Europe, however its really a working computer, especially as there a very few really good games available for the AppleMac. My computer cost in the region of £800 including an airport card for easy internet access from the garden! Yes, you can get a cheaper PC laptop, but you will not find anything so reliable, powerful, lightweight and pretty! I would also recommend that you order an Apple from Apple directly - they know what they are talking about, and any problems are sorted immediatley without any quibbles, unlike so many other computer suppliers/manufacturers. Advantages: excellent quality, USB and Firewire ports, better than competition

.... Another nice feature is the USB (x2) and Firewire (x2) ports on the back. These make up for the lack of slots on the computer. One tiny issue though is the amount of cabling. When set up you'll have a power lead, USB and Firewire cables and the DVI cable to the computer. If you use the USB and Firewire ports on the back that'll be even more cabling. But, if you buy a nice desk, you'll never see any of it. Prices are much better now than when i bought mine - this is why i can give this 5/5. And though other manufacturers may boast a higher spec than the Apple screen, on closer inspection they're not as good. The latest thing is glossy screens - and although very bright and colourful (so's the Apple by the way!) - they aren't as sharp, they reflect light, and the viewing angles just can't beat the Apple display. ...The Power Mac G5 is about to become a historical curiosity but it's still listed on the Apple UK store website. It may suit you if you have particular requirements. For example, if you have older applications written for the PowerPC (PPC) architecture you will not get much performance gain using the new Intel machine. Apple has moved most of its applications to the new "Universal Binary" format so they run on either PPC or Intel machines. However, some makers of the major third party applications like Microsoft and Adobe still provide their programmes as PPC-only. As with most Apple machines it starts straight out of the box. I ordered mine with the optional GeForce 7600 graphics card for extra graphics performance. I also ordered third party - 1GB of memory and an additional 160GByte SATA drive.
