...iPods have come a long way from their humble roots of being a personal music player. With the ability to play music, play videos and be used as a photo viewer I think that Apple have gone too far. Apple have developed a niche since the iPod is more than an MP3 player but not quite a fully blown multi media player. The iPod has become a bit of a middle-man. ...I got my 8GB ipod touch for christmas and its been great every since day one! It came with a cool leather case to protect the beautiful shiny backplate that it has (so easily scratched its incredible!) It feels really nice in your hands and is just so easy and simple to use. It works using a touch screen system and only two main buttons. One for turning it on and off and one is the home button which is used to close appications and return to the homepage. One of the best features of the 2nd gen touch is the WIFI connection. I connected it to my homehub router in seconds and then was able to use apples pre-installed web browser safari, which i was very impressed by. Using the WIFI connection also allows you to check your e-mails from a variety of sources ( but sadly no hotmail link ) and access the itunes store and appstore like...

Advantages: huge variety of features, great sound quality...
Disadvantages: Price, my specifically unreliable model, not vampire-friendly :P

The sound quality is excellent. But do be careful not to answer calls when you have it hooked up to a sound system. I was with a group of friends and my iphone was connected to the speakers and my mum rang. I completely forgot that it was my music that was playing and suddenly everyone could hear everything my mum was saying - slight embarrassment. Woops... ~Ringtones~ This was something that annoyed me to the end of the earth. That you can buy a CD or download an itunes track and yet Apple make it so difficult for you to turn that track into a ringtone. ...I have owned this since before Christmas 2008. The packaging was minimal and the design of the Apple Ipod touch 8Gb is breathtaking. Beautiful. The docking is identical to previous generations of Ipod so can be used with any of your previous connectivity and charging docking solutions. The great gui and human interface via the touch screen is innovative and market leading. However, finding your way about and updating via the Apple site takes a few moments to get your head around. Just take your time and enjoy the experience. There are speakers in the case so for occasional use you can listen without earphones. My 18 month contract with T-Mobile is coming up for renewal next week, however having had problems gaining reception in my area I'd opted to look elsewhere for a new contract. A few weeks back my problems were solved when I was shopping around to try and find the best mobile contract, and discovered that O2 would be stocking the Apple iPhone as of November the 9th. Not only was I looking for a new mobile contract, but also a replacement MP3 player so the Apple iPhone seemed ideal. I made plans to purchase the iPhone and on the evening of release made my way down to the nearest O2 store upon finishing work, bagging myself my very own iPhone at a price of £269. Advantages: touch screen, integrated speakers, great video quality and picture quality, great sound
Disadvantages: may seem expensive compared to its rivals, and seems like you can damage it easily without a case

...The iPod touch 8GB made by apple is beautifully made, from the first time you set your eyes on it; you want to hold it and use the exceptional but simple features on it., when I brought the itouch it was exhilarating using the best touch responsive screen ever made. Its speakers are one of the best available considering the size of the product. Yes there were disadvantages such as the slippery feel to the itouch, constantly reminding you of you can drop it at any time. ...After seeing it on the TV, and it being called 'the funnest iPod ever', I decided that I wanted one. I unwrapped it and found the iPod itself (with engraving on the back, as it was directly from the Apple shop), the headphones, the screen cloth, a USB cable to transfer music, videos and photos to iTunes, and some plastic thing that I assumed was the deck or something like that. SOUND QUALITY The iPod's sound is very good. It is very smooth, and isn't dodgy-sounding. The headphones are also extremely good. Unfortunately I do not have the proper sound deck, but after hearing the nano being play through it at my friend's house, it's obviously extremely good. Overall, the sound quality is exceptional.
