Aqaba - nice place to visit

Advantages: Good shopping, great beach
Disadvantages: Traffic a bit chaotic, bit of hassle if you are women on your own

...I went to Aqaba in Jordan in the month November as part of a cruise on the Thomson Celebration. It was the first destination on the itinerary and we were scheduled to spend two days docked there. We made our way in to the town to do some souvenir shopping on the first morning and found it to be a bustling area with loads of little shops where you could pick up some great bargains. The shop owners nearly all spoke great English and in one shop we were told "go and pick what you like and we'll agree on a price afterwards." This is one of the best parts of shopping in countries such as Egypt and Jordan, as you can nearly always haggle on price and get some fantastic bargains. There are loads of shops and cafes in the town and a lot them sell the same types of things - sand in glass bottles, products made from Dead Sea salts...

Review of Aqaba (Jordan)

A good place to go diving

Advantages: A very nice dive site
Disadvantages: NONE

...On my trip to Jordan I went around all of the tourist attractions and I belive that this place was very good. They have amazing coral rocks for snorkelling and they have very good animal life down below. I enjoyed my stay and I liked the atmosphere of the place. The poeple were very friendly and I enoyed the shopping. There is a lot to do and I have a memory of buying bottle with different coloured sands with art work with words and camels and things like that. I definately recommend that you go to Jordan and if you do then definately go to Aqaba because it is so fun and it is definately in the SUN!!!...

JORDAN - A Tourist's overview

Advantages: Wonderful country, with fantastic scenery and history
Disadvantages: Dangerous at present time (Jan '06)

...at high speeds, as if in a rally against 18 other jeeps, with loud Arabic dance music pumping out of the cassette player - it was truly awesome and an experience I can't really truly put into words. I didn't even want our driver to change the music; it just fitted so well and was part of the whole enjoyment of the experience. ~~~~~~ AQABA ~~~~~~ Our final stop was the port of Aqaba on the southern tip of Jordan ... the only outlet to the sea! The climate in Aqaba is described as tropical and the Red Sea is one of the richest for marine life in the whole world, with many people descending here to do literally just that in the depths of the Red Sea. It is a very popular world site for divers; also because of it's famed coral reefs. Aqaba is perfect for a beach holiday in this region and is abley supported by hotels of all categories...

Review of General: Jordan

Mr Jordan debut's

Advantages: Very accomplished and versatile

...David Jordan - Set The Mood I bought this album from iTunes on the back of his single 'Sun Goes Down' which I have to say was refreshingly good and I loved the video, very quirky. David Jordan is only 23 and surprisingly (for his depth of musical style) is British, though born of Indian and West Indian parents. This is his debut album and is produced by Trevor Horn, more of a name in the 80's than now, he was regarded then a bit Like Mark Ronson is now, which is a coincidence as apparently (having read up on this like the geek I am), Amy Winehouse and David Jordan are big buddies, so I would not be surprised if Ronson features in this young mans career before too long. ...I bought this book on Ebay (for about a fifth of the RRP £16.99!) after reading mixed reviews, and figured I'd just have to find out for myself if this book was all it was made out to be. I personally have always found Katie Price, aka Jordan quite intriguing. I've watched many documentaries about her, gaining a brief insight into her life and they have always shown her in a good light. After watching an episode of the most recent television programme featuring Katie; 'Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter' which is shown on ITV2, I finally decided I should definitely read this book. 'Being Jordan' is the first of her two autobiographies and I found it an extremely compelling read. If you're looking for a book that is intellectually stimulating , then this probably isn't for you. Who is Jordan really?

Disadvantages: If you don't like, you'll hate her even more

...I am almost ashamed to admit that i bought this book, but I was curious, after hearing all the interviews where she had plugged this book. Katie claims that she wrote this book to give her side of the story that the tabloiads put across about her, her life and her feelings. The book starts with her explaining her reasons for writing the book, and how she sees herself. This isn't a biography as such, more a catalogue of the different men she's been with, and their relationships. She does go into some details about her earlier life, but it only covers the first couple of chapters of the book. She talks briefly about her childhood, but by Chapter 2, she's talking about her first disasterious experience of modelling at 13, and from chapter 3 onwards, she launches into her love life.
