...Seeing as there are no recent reviews of the London Aquarium on here, I thought I should add an update! I had not been here since early 2007, so I thought it warranted a visit seeing as I had some time off work. A lot has changed... First of all - the prices: Adults (15 yrs): £16 Children (3 - 14 yrs): £11.75 Babies/Toddlers: Free (All children must be with an adult of 18 years or older!) Students and OAPs: £14 Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): £50 Disabled Adult: £14 Disabled Child: £9.75 Secondly - the London Aquarium layout has changed quite a bit! 1) They have placed a sweet shop right in the middle of the aquarium, next to the theatre. 2) The information posters about the fish are not displayed very well. They use LCD monitors now which have pages that are only displayed for 5 minutes at a time. This is quite bizarre as...

Aquarium La Rochelle

Advantages: A wonderful experience and day out
Disadvantages: Expensive shop

...Aquarium La Rochelle, unsurprisingly is in La Rochelle on the West Coast of France. It's located in the centre of the town, a few minutes from the station, and within 5 minutes walk of the main shopping area. It boasts 12,000 marine animals, 20 species of shark, 70 aquariums and 3 million litres of water. Opening Times and Prices ********************* Adults are 13 Euro, children aged 3 to 17 years (and students with student card) are 10 Euro and children under 3 years are free If you want a narrated visit (with audio guide), you need to add 3,50Euro to the individual prices. We decided against the narrated visit and it didn't spoil the enjoyment at all, because all the notices and information about the different species is written in English as well as French. Tigers and Geckos (& lots of fish) at the Downtown Aquarium

Advantages: Tiger tiger burning bright
Disadvantages: On a busy day I think I would have hated this place

...We took a trip to Colorado last May and despite staying close to Denver, we really didn't spend much time in the city. With just a couple of days to go before we flew home we thought we'd better do some intense sightseeing and set off into Denver to see as much as we could in just one day. Our final stop was a trip to the Downtown Aquarium. We'd done a bit of history at the State Capitol, had a hefty dose of culture at the Denver Art Museum and now we needed a seriously fishy experience to top off a great day out. I love big aquariums so I was quite excited to see what Denver would have to offer. However I've been to enough aquariums that I'm getting a bit picky about what I like and what I don't and I've become more than a little cynical about the ploys such places employ to try to make the already fascinating underwater world more...

Bergen Aquarium - no wrapper on these penguins

...What do you do on a rainy day in a city renowned for bad weather and that is surrounded by water? You go to the aquarium of course! As if you hadn?t seen enough water! Bergen Aquarium has a reputation of being one of the finest in Europe and while I haven?t been to many, I can see why Bergen?s has this good reputation. The aquarium is situated about 1.6 Kilometres from the fish market, which in tourist terms is the heart of the city. It stands at the end of the Nordnes peninsular and you can find it quite easily by walking as far as you can before you end up in the fjord. When you fall in you know you have gone too far. I was going to say ?when you get wet? but as it rains virtually all the time in Bergen, this is not helpful. If you don?t want to walk you can take a bus, alternatively you can take a ferry from the fish market...

Why is there fish in my soap? (Palmolive Aquarium Hand Wash)

Advantages: Colourful and interesting in your bathroom or kitchen.
Disadvantages: None.

...On offer in my local shop was Palmolive Aquarium hand soap. The product was on a special offer so I was naturally drawn to it. It was three bottles for just less than two pounds. An excellent start to my shopping that day. What I like about this particular hand soap is the packaging, it is lovely. The bottle is clear plastic with the brand at the top then inside the bottle is a little aquarium with little fish freely floating about amongst rocks and coral, how cute is that! The little aquarium you get inside the bottle has very vivid colours and certainly brightens up wherever you want to put the soap. The top of the bottle has a white plastic pump action top that you simply twist to open then just press down to dispense the clear liquid soap. I find hand soap dispensers far less messy than having a bar of soap on the side of the sink...

An Aquarium in your Handwash!

Advantages: naturals, floral scent, anti-bacterial, hypo-allergenic, suitable for sensitive skin

...I've got this handwash a couple of times mainly because it is affordable and is a good size and also because my daughter just loves the 'aquarium' in it... It also looks great in the bathroom or by the kitchen sink if you like:) This handwash retails for about £1.50 - £2 depending on where you buy it, Palmolive products normally have good value prices and I find it best to get mine in places like Superdrug or Savers as you will find them on sale, as multi-buys or at low prices. The handwash comes in a clear transparent and rounded plastic medium sized bottle and the aquarium is in the form of a colourful picture on the inside of the bottle which can be seen clearly through the handwash which is a colourless translucent gel-like fluid. The bottle also has a small pump at the top so to use, you just press at the top of this pump...

Have some L'fun at L'Aquarium!

Advantages: Good selection of marine life, kids activities, an entertaining few hours, penguins!
Disadvantages: Quite pricey, can get crowded

...My last holiday abroad was to Barcelona, Spain. Whilst I was there I visited L'Aquarium Barcelona. L'Aquarium is situated in Port Vell which if you know Barcelona is near the end of Las Ramblas. It is next to Port Vell shopping centre, marina and seafront. There are good transport links to and from the aquarium which include buses, coaches and metro. The nearest metro station is Barceloneta. The building is large and has a colourful mosiac style wall alongside it. It is hard to miss. The ticket booth is opposite the main building. We paid 34 euros for 2 adults and our little girl was free because she was under 4. Ticket prices are 17 euros for adults, 12 euros for 4-12 year olds, 14 euros for over 60 year olds and free for under 4 year olds. I personally thought that it was particularly expensive and wouldn't expect to pay...
