...Seeing as there are no recent reviews of the London Aquarium on here, I thought I should add an update! I had not been here since early 2007, so I thought it warranted a visit seeing as I had some time off work. A lot has changed... First of all - the prices: Adults (15 yrs): £16 Children (3 - 14 yrs): £11.75 Babies/Toddlers: Free (All children must be with an adult of 18 years or older!) Students and OAPs: £14 Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): £50 Disabled Adult: £14 Disabled Child: £9.75 Secondly - the London Aquarium layout has changed quite a bit! 1) They have placed a sweet shop right in the middle of the aquarium, next to the theatre. 2) The information posters about the fish are not displayed very well. Wizz Air

Advantages: Almost Excellent airline to fly with.
Disadvantages: £4 booking fee if not using a Visa Electron card.

Advantages: A wonderful experience and day out

easy to use breast pump

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Not cheap

...I made sure that when I had my first baby I got a good breast pump so that I could not only enjoy breastfeeding my litle one, I could also ahv some time off while someone else fed my son but he still had breastmilk. This pump is a nice size and doesnt feel uncomfortable and you can adjust the strength. I found in the morning I was able to express more and I didnt use the strength of the pump to get some milk The importance of pumping while feeding is that it tricks your body into believing you are feeding baby and you therefore produce more milk. Tigers and Geckos (& lots of fish) at the Downtown Aquarium

Disadvantages: On a busy day I think I would have hated this place

...We took a trip to Colorado last May and despite staying close to Denver, we really didn't spend much time in the city. With just a couple of days to go before we flew home we thought we'd better do some intense sightseeing and set off into Denver to see as much as we could in just one day. Our final stop was a trip to the Downtown Aquarium. We'd done a bit of history at the State Capitol, had a hefty dose of culture at the Denver Art Museum and now we needed a seriously fishy experience to top off a great day out. I love big aquariums so I was quite excited to see what Denver would have to offer. Bergen Aquarium - no wrapper on these penguins

Advantages: A fun and educational place to visit

...What do you do on a rainy day in a city renowned for bad weather and that is surrounded by water? You go to the aquarium of course! As if you hadn?t seen enough water! Bergen Aquarium has a reputation of being one of the finest in Europe and while I haven?t been to many, I can see why Bergen?s has this good reputation. The aquarium is situated about 1.6 Kilometres from the fish market, which in tourist terms is the heart of the city. It stands at the end of the Nordnes peninsular and you can find it quite easily by walking as far as you can before you end up in the fjord. When you fall in you know you have gone too far. I was going to say ?when you get wet? but as it rains virtually all the time in Bergen, this is not helpful. If you don?t want to walk you can take a bus, alternatively you can take a ferry from the fish market...

Pump, pump, pump - but no milk!

Advantages: Small and easy to handle
Disadvantages: Breast cup not big enough, noisy and the suction was very weak, expensive

...I'm sure if you have a smaller breast then this might be a good pump for you, but having my breasts swell to a 42J cup this did nothing for me at all. I found the breast cup piece did not sit well at all and the suction was terrible. It didn't hug the breast as well as a hand held version nor did it pump quick enough to really get a good flow of milk going. It also makes quiet a loud noise when pumping so you have to do it in a room where your baby isn't! It is small and compact, so ideal for travelling but it means that you cannot get much milk in the bottle as it's so small so you have to empty it on a regular basis (that's if you get that far!) It is quiet expensive too, I paid over £50 for this even though a £10 hand held from tescos did the job much better!!! Overall it was easy to handle but it just didn't have enough...

So, my midwife suggested that I use a breast pump to express some milk off, and that I give him 20 ml in a small cup towards the end of every feed. Now I had bought a manual breast pump when my daughter was a baby, but to be honest with you, I'd never really got on with it. I found it quite uncomfortable on my breast, and it really made my hand ache trying to work the thing! So, I decided to look into the various options available for an electric breast pump. I eventually settled on the Medela Mini 'Electric breast pump, which I bought for £50 from Boots. When I got the pump home, I unpacked it (nicely packaged) and popped the non-motorised bits...

An Aquarium in your Handwash!

Advantages: naturals, floral scent, anti-bacterial, hypo-allergenic, suitable for sensitive skin

...I've got this handwash a couple of times mainly because it is affordable and is a good size and also because my daughter just loves the 'aquarium' in it... It also looks great in the bathroom or by the kitchen sink if you like:) This handwash retails for about £1.50 - £2 depending on where you buy it, Palmolive products normally have good value prices and I find it best to get mine in places like Superdrug or Savers as you will find them on sale, as multi-buys or at low prices. The handwash comes in a clear transparent and rounded plastic medium sized bottle and the aquarium is in the form of a colourful picture on the inside of the bottle which can be seen clearly through the handwash which is a colourless translucent gel-like fluid. The bottle also has a small pump at the top so to use, you just press at the top of this pump...
