Advantages: One can take one's favourite videos anywhere, easily.
Disadvantages: It is not the lightest device.

...I bought this product from Currys when the later model, 605, was also on the shelves. Despite the latter having WIFI and being touch screen, I opted to purchase the 504, mainly because the 605 was a higher price even though it had less than half the memory, (30GB). It was important for me, and no doubt many others, to have sufficient memory to store as many videos and songs as I wanted without having to worry about running out of memory. This factor was undoubtedly more important than WIFI or touch screen ability, those factors being unrelated to the actual purpose of the machine. I wished not to spend a great deal, and this item was one which came within budget and offered all that I wanted- that being a device having sufficient memory to meet my needs. Apple Ipod 80GB

Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see

...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

APPLE 80GB CLASSIC

Advantages: YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES AND COMPLETE ALBUM COLLECTION IN YOUR POCKET

...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. ...This is probably my most treasured possession. With the size of the memory, you can store more pictures, music and videos than you could ever possibly need. A pro and a con there... If your not going to fill up 80gb, i wouldn't recommend buying this ipod. At the moment i have nearly 6000 songs, and 9 (approx. 1 hour length) videos stored on my ipod classic, and still have 47.3 GB space free. If you can fill it, it's incredible value for money. If you can't, it seems a little pointless. It's very easy to use, you can make playlists on the go, the games are extraordinarily fun- not something i'd normally think about, but the ipod version of solitaire has kept me amused on many a train journey. The battery life is very good, as long as you don't continuously fiddle. The alarm is good... but has failed to wake me (a deep sleeper) up...

The 80gb ipod classic is by far the best portable music player i've ever had! not only does it look great, you can store up to about 9000 songs on this beast! despite the fact it looks rather big and hefty, its actually quite light and you tend not to notice it in your pocket untill you dip in to find some loose change. the sound quality on it is amazing. you can get all sorts of equalizers for more bass, more treble, etc... to find the perfect sound for the song you are listening to. the only thing i would say is bad about the ipod classic is the touch pad, sometimes this can get stuck or it wont sense your fingers, so it can get abit annoying trying to scan your whole archive of music when youre struggling to get from the a's to z's! The headphones! if you really want to get the best out of your ipod classic then change...

archos 704 tv it is great!

Advantages: big good quality touch screen, duel dvd digital ariels and tuners
Disadvantages: apsolute absance of buttons, no place to store touch screen stylus

...the archos 704 tv in my opinion is an excellent divice in the archos portable video range. it is a generation 4 device on thier website. it is the replacement to the older archos av700. it has a 7 inch screen and is of a very acceptable resolution. it can be filled with media from the included usb b cable or can act as a usb host, whitch i think is a very useful feature. the optional dvr station (around £60) is great and i would recommend it. a usb hard drive can be added and it makes the archos function in a way like a high capacity hdd recorder. upon picking up the archos the first thing you realise is that it is a very metallic and solidly built device. then you would realise the absance of buttons. this can be annoying as you will need to use the stylus a lot. for example if pausing or ajusting volume. this can be time consuming...

Playstation 3 80GB

Advantages: Powerful - Good Looking - Easy to setup - Loads of games
Disadvantages: Quite heavy and bulky - Slow install and download times

...Pretty much all of the versions are the same - but this is for the 80GB version. This is my opinion but after having the 40GB version - I do feel that this system stays cooler than the 40GB version. The console is very heavy - and it is quite bulky - but it doesn't really matter. It looks very stylish - but it is basically a fingerprint magnet - the marks can be wiped off - but it is a bit annoying. Setup - When you first attempt to setup the console - it is best that you read the instructions - it can be complicated. If you are connecting to a HD TV - you basically just connect the cable to the TV and console - turn console and Tv on - then select HDMI on the TV - then run the setup - it will says a HDMI device has been detected - do you want to configure - say yes and then let it detect the settings - the screen will go blank...
